Hi! I just started the Pokemon Black pokedex, and Bernard Bogard will assist me with this also since he has gone off on the adventure.
So far, he has chosen the Grass Type Pokemon Snivy as his partner.
Snivy is nicknamed Linken.
The other Pokemon he ran into so far are:
1. Tepig - fire
2. Oshawott - water
3. Purrloin - dark
4. Lillipup - normal
5. Patrat - normal

Servine - the evolved form of Snivy (17)
Watchog - the evolved form of Patrat (20)
Herdier - the evolved form of Lilipup
Munna - Psychic (similar to Drowzee/Hypno)
Pidove - Normal+Flying
Blitzle - electric
Roggenrola - rock + ground (similar to Geodude/Graveller/Golem)
Woobat - Dark + Flying (similar to Zubat/Golbat/Crobat)
Audino - Normal (similar to cute based normal types)
Timburr - fighting
Tympole - water (looks like a blue tadpole)

Unova Pokedex number 33 is Woobat.
Its a Psychic Flying pokemon whose habitat is either in dark forests or in caves. They are blind, so they use ultrasonic waves to see where they are going.
*Fun fact! This creature is similar to the Fruit bat where millions of these creatures are truly found in caves. The ground that these are found in is covered in bat droppings. Birds from outside try and eat them when they stray outside of the cave during the day. This is why they are nocturnal or only come out at night.
