After his encounter with Faleen and Kofuku, Asch had gone on his way to his eventual destination. Still having had some time before he had to meet with his direct superior in this region, the agent had taken the time to run some errands. Namely to secure himself a room and to make sure his few belongings made it there. He was hungry too, but food could wait till after the meeting. Then some rest, it had been a long trip after all.
Eventually he found himself riding the elevator up to the elite floor. Tyke had been returned to his pokeball. He didn't need the little Zorua making a nuisance of himself in front of his supervisor. It would be entirely too unprofessional.
Arms folded, Asch leaned against the railing as the elevator moved upward. His green eyes lidded slightly as he stared at the line where the wall and floor of the tiny room met. Lost in thought, he remained that way until the soft chime of the elevator reaching the desired floor sounded. Looking up again, Asch straightened himself up and stalked down the hallway.
He was unfamiliar with this building, and it was far larger than the outposts and regional HQs he has visited. This was the main hub, and thus it was expected. Still, he managed to find his way to the office he was looking for. Lifting his fist, he rapped his knuckles against the door in a firm knock.

Glancing away from the personnel file she had on the screen, the Elite Agent's green eyes noted the time at the corner of her computer monitor. He was exactly on time, which would work to his benefit. The last thing Kunai needed to do was chastise an agent of all things about the importance of timeliness.
In a clear, firm tone, she gave him all he needed to enter the room.
"Come."
Her eyes were already expectantly at the door.

Once the summons had been given, the door opened and in came the young agent who dipped his head respectfully as he quietly shut the door behind him again.
Taking a few steps forward, he then gave the regulatory salute that was due to those higher in rank.
"Agent Asch, reporting in." He told her curtly. His eyes remaining fixed in front of him as he waited for acknowledgment. Not letting his gaze stray.

The pink haired Elite Agent remained seated behind her desk for approximately 10 seconds, eyes upon the agent. There was plenty of information one could gather in 10 seconds. He was focused. Minded his manners respectfully (unlike a certain other Rocket). Apparently what she observed was enough for her to respectfully stand up and walk right next to him.
Standing at her full height, Kunai was still overshadowed by this man's own relatively average height. Though she seemed just as stern as ever, she said something that might have seemed out of place.
"At ease, Agent."
Somehow it didn't sound like she wanted him at ease. Then again, she wasn't exactly the sort who ever was at ease.

And for those moments he remained exactly as he was. Asch knew that he was being scrutinized, but while he seemed motionless, his mind was still active. He was gathering what information he could about this elite he'd never met as well.
She didn't look like much, but one didn't reach that rank without proper reason. Her no-nonsense attitude was enough to convey that she wouldn't put up with anything less than his best.
When she finally spoke, Asch lowered his hand back to his side and relaxed enough so that he wasn't standing rigidly.
Even though "at ease", he maintained his respectful posture and waited so as not to speak out of turn.

She didn't shift her sights for even a moment. "Be seated." There was a chair nearby, she didn't need to point it out to him. She gave him 5 seconds before turning precisely 90 degrees and making her way back to her own chair behind the desk. She waited for him to sit before she sat down. Yet the moment he was down, she was also in her own (far nicer) chair. With her left hand she used the mouse to scroll through something on the monitor.
"Agent Asch. You have taken the tests I require of anybody who joins my department and have passed with a satisfactory score." If she had been a kinder girl, she might have selected a word more encouraging than satisfactory, but now was not the time to make friends. "You seem quite suited for my department, Agent."
Her left hand moved away from the computer's mouse and rather stiffly folded with her other hand at the edge of her desk. "Tell me about yourself. Tell me what the personnel file does not." Her eyes easily found their way to his face, her gaze sharp, waiting to judge even the faintest shift in expression.

Having sat himself down in the chair within the alotted time, he focused his attention on the elite. The boy's lips turned down in a serious frown as he listened.
Satisfactory was good enough for him, Asch wasn't particularly looking for praise from the elite after all. He figured this was the the closest thing to a compliment he was going to get from her.
What he didn't expect though, was her inquiry about his personal life. Which was the only thing not listed in his personnel file. The important stuff was pretty much listed there, such as the fact that he had come into active duty when he turned 16, and was promoted to agent by the time he turned 17, and was trained in hand to hand and weapons combat, among other things.
"I was raised by a member of the team when I was 11, and trained until I entered active duty." His tone one of complete seriousness. "I decided to specialize in dark and fire type Pokemon and I use Zoroark and Zorua for their illusion abilities. I've never cut my hair except for monthly trimmings, and I can cook."

There were little details which could be observed as a person spoke that revealed volumes about the speaker. As Asch spoke, his superior was reading his features as she listened. He spoke truth, which would definitely benefit him later on. He was not a chatterbox and seemed to cut down to just the bare minimal amount of information he could supply. Most likely, he, as with most Rockets, had secrets tucked away.
Kunai's tone was flat as she stated "It would seem that my question caught you by surprise." Whether it had or not it was something she could observe merely by looking him over was a mystery all on its own. She unfolded her hands and brought them down behind her desk. When one hand eventually returned back to desk level, there was a kunai knife at hand. Her gloved thumb pressed against the blade, stroking it almost.
"In my time with Team Rocket, I have found that the most dedicated Agents are the ones that had an early connections with the organization. Do not disappoint me." Despite how little emotion there was to her voice, it was obvious that was most certainly a warning.
The mention of his Pokemon did not go ignored. "For infiltration, do you rely solely on your Pokemon for their illusions? Tell me your experience with infiltration and undercover missions."

Kunai's observation was met with indifference, and he didn't challenge it. Surprise may have been a strong word, but it was certainly unusual he thought that his supervisor would ask about details not in his personnel file. And yet it also made some semblance of sense.
She seemed to like knives, he thought, as she flicked out the blade and started playing with it. Her name along with the weapon in her hand made that more than a little obvious. Either this was a nervous habit or an attempt at intimidation. He assumed it was the later.
The warning came as no surprise as Asch narrowed his eyes slightly in thought. He had received such warnings before, and doubted it would be the last. Asch understood, as with most other Rockets, the gravity of one's position in the team and had no intention of displaying anything less than his best.
"No," he replied smoothly once Kunai asked about his Pokemon. He wasn't such a fool that he depended on his Pokemon to do everything for him. That was not how he was trained. Self reliance came first, and Pokemon were merely there for convenience. Their abilities were certainly useful though.
"My missions to this point have consisted mainly of gathering intelligence, such as the possible whereabouts of legendary Pokemon." He was one of those agents who worked behind the scenes and made it possible for raids to happen. But that didn't mean he didn't go on raids himself. "I have infiltrated gyms and league establishments, posed as a Pokemon Trainer; and as a researcher." League officials and sites of Pokemon research, were rich sources of information, after all. "I also participated in the acquisition of Rayquaza DNA." Little did he know that, that sample had been destroyed.

"You have an impressive list of accomplishments and skills." Kunai didn't sound impressed despite her comment. Then again, this was Kunai.
She a final flick of her thumb across the blade of her knife, she brought it down to her side, tucking it back away in her side pouch. Perhaps the comment seemed out of place, but if one knew Kunai's department tech-guy, one would understand the warning.
"I hope for your own sake that you are technologically sufficient as well."
As if the mention of technology had reminded her of something, she paused from the conversation to type something in on her computer. Nothing lengthy, just a small note to self for her eyes only. Her fingers stopped and her eyes returned to the redhead.
"Agent, what are your expectations of my department?"

Again with the compliments. Asch took pride in his work certainly, but he knew better than the let the words of an elite get to his head.
"I am," Asch confirmed, for one couldn't get by very well in this day and age, or this organization for that matter, without being sufficient in technology. He wouldn't let something like that hinder him.
The next question was something more expected, and he was ready with an answer. "To ensure the success of Team Rocket, and to use my skills and abilities to their fullest potential." He had every expectation to be put to use, and in a suitable manner, otherwise he would be extremely disappointed.

She had expected nothing less in regards to his answer. Aside from the outfit he wore right now, he seemed like a by-the-books sort of Agent. Then again, many in her department seemed to fail with the by-the-books uniform, herself included.
There was no shift in tone as she then asked another question. "What are your expectations of me, Agent?"

This felt like an interrogation, but Asch continued on with all due seriousness. That frown never wavering as if it were plastered onto his face.
Also, it wasn't as if he didn't have an ordinary uniform, but in most cases it was simply... unnecessary. Thus it sat around gathering dust more often than not.
"You're my superior. I don't expect to be micromanaged and I wouldn't want that anyway. What I do expect is to be treated fairly, constructively criticized, and given opportunities to improve. You're an elite agent, and I have every intention of learning and following your example. For that you will have my loyalty."

There was no confirmation as to whether what he said was suitable or not. Only one word signaled she did at least hear what he had said.
"Noted."
She didn't shift in her chair, or move to make any more notes on her computer. Perhaps the redheaded agent really was getting interrogated. There was just this intensity to the pink haired girl behind the desk that did not seem to ease in the slightest. No amount of subtle compliments or respectful gestures could make it go away in this environment.
There was perhaps 30 seconds of silence. Thirty whole seconds where all she did was look him dead in the eyes. When her voice finally interrupted the silence again, there was another question waiting for Asch.
"Do you have any questions for me?"

His words could have been taken a variety of ways, and Asch left it up to her to interpret. The more hard nosed would have thought that he may have insinuated that he would be unloyal if those criteria were not met. But then, he pledged his loyalty to Team Rocket, not any particular individual. He didn't have to like someone to do his job, including his superior. But under favorable circumstances, Kunai would get the most out of her agent.
When asked if he had any questions, he had but one.
"When can I expect my next assignment?"
