Cyrilla slowly packed away her things at the end of the art class. The professor was so... very odd, but the assignment had been fun, none the less. She still wasn't sure what drew her into taking the class itself, it wasn't like she was a budding artist. Maybe she'd figured that she'd be able to avoid fire for once (not that it'd happened like that).
As the dracolich ghoul made her way around the other seats, she noticed a hat sitting on a chair. She picked it up and turned it over in her hands, her brow furrowing as she tried to recall who's it was. Normally she'd have handed it over to the professor, but at this time, the professor had already left. It took a few moments of thinking, but she finally placed the figure as the ghoull who had the spinal cord bodice. With any luck, she'd be able to find her outside of the class still, and return the item.
When she peeked out the door, it didn't take long to notice the steam-punkish looking ghoul, hatless, and heading down towards the demon dorms. Cyrilla's nose scrunched up, lovely. Just what she hadn't wanted to deal with. Whatever though, she'd already resolved to return the hat, there was no need to get her knickers in a knot over this. It'd be quick, painless, and she could leave.
"Hey!" she called across to the other ghoul.
"I think you forgot this in class."

Viveca's cartilage horns bounced up and down as she walked down the hallway, easily balancing on her platformed boots. At 5 feet, she was rather self-conscious about her height (even though her kind were known for their petite-ness) among other students, and the platforms helped to elevate her to what she thought was a 'proper' height.
Her long braid was over her shoulder, resting in front, instead of on her back, and she twirled a loose strand around her finger.
The demon ghoul's horse ears flicked back a little, as someone called after her. She hadn't really talked to anyone in class (there hadn't seemed to be too many worth talking to, after all), so why were they seeking her out after class?
Viveca turned, her skirts swishing as she did, untangling her finger and flipping her hair over her shoulder, looking back.
Her nose scrunched up a little. She thought she had smelled something funny in class. Had she just found the source?
Gingerly she took the hat.
"You shouldn't have," she said in a monotone voice.
Really, she thought. Then she wouldn't have to burn it later.

The dracolich stood over Viveca a good several inches, even with her platforms. Being a solid 5'10" or perhaps a bit more, there was no questioning the differences. The ghoul took note of the nose scrunching, and bit her tongue as best she could, handing the hat over as the demon slowly picked it from her grasp.
"It was... no problem." she offered back, carefully choosing her words. The side of her face twitched once, the feeling of being judged washing over her like a torrential flood, beating open old wounds.
Though nothing was said, so she kept quiet.
"Well, I uh, hope you get along in class well." she dracolich gave a nod of her head before turning to walk away, her body as tense and uncomfortable.

Viveca hated that this...person was taller than her. It wasn't fair. She didn't deserve to tower so far over her, in her 6" platforms. Stupid dragon thing.
As the ghoul turned her back and started to walk away, Viveca stuck out her tongue. Her parents had told her all about the types she'd run into at the school, and what to expect. After her brief encounter, she saw that her mother had been right about everything she had said about the undead.
"Smelly road kill," she muttered, self-satisfactorily to herself, still holding the hat pinched in as little of her two fingers as she could manage.

Cyrilla had just begun to feel her shoulders relax a bit, when the fins on her head twitched and her tail snapped back and forth. Her ears burned as the words tumbled out of Viveca's mouth. Really? She had been polite, not condescending, really, she hadn't done anything to rouse words like that. Had she spat in the ghoul's face and stomped on her hat? Sure, she'd have deserved it.... but no..
"Excuse me?" the taller ghoul whipped around, the mass amounts of jewelry she was adorned with clicking and clanking against the rest.
"Please, do tell me, that my ears are deceiving me in what I just think I heard demon." she spat out the word like it was dripping with poison.
"Because I don't think I could have, seriously, heard you correctly."

Viveca's eyes narrowed. How dare she address and challenge her??
"I assume your GIANT bat-wing ears work as well as my nose does, carrion," she spat back, with a flippant air. "Or do you have some decay in them, by chance?"
It seemed weirdly liberating to be able to say exactly was in her head. Her parents had taught her about social graces, and politeness and rules, and she had almost always been in company where she was required to abide by them.
From Jericho, she had wanted something, and he could be useful in the future, and so had called in her demon graces to use.
But now, HERE, with this person who was so obviously below her, she could FINALLY say what came so quickly to her sharp mind.

The dracolich's growled in the demon's direction, her tail batting around behind her, not unlike an agitated cat waiting to pounce. The 'giant bag-wing' headfins flicked around, her actual ears hidden beneath her hair.
"Look, you can take your jack damned tongue and slam it up your arse for all I care." she snapped back, "I honestly shouldn't be surprised at your lack of candor given what you are. But no, I gave you the benefit of the doubt, and you decide to lay out unmerited slander regardless? I don't care what you think you are, little ghoul, I'm not here to tolerate your ignorance."
"I'd watch your mouth, if I were you." she hissed.

Viveca raised her eyebrows. What an annoying...THING. She couldn't just shut up and leave? She was obviously the inferior creature here, she should just take it, apologize for bothering the demon ghoul and leave.
But NO. She was trying to make her take it back. HA.
"I can't watch my mouth as easily as you. MINE doesn't come off," she paused, not sure if the dragon was smart enough to get it. "You know. Cuz it hasn't rotted off."

Cyrilla wasn't sure what was more insulting. The insult that was the intended to be hurled at her, or the fact that the demon felt the need to explain it to her. The dracolich's gaze was trying desperately to burn holes through the other ghoul's head. Unfortunately for Cyrilla (and perhaps most fortunately for Viveca), causing people's heads to combust wasn't in her skill set (yet).
"I'm sorry, what was that? I couldn't hear you over the sound of poor, little wheels in your head scraping together as you worked, clearly, so hard to get that gold nugget out there." she huffed.
The look of annoyance melted away into a bemused smile as she lifted a hand and waved the demoness off like a trite peasant. Something she was sure would get under the ghoul's skin.
"Clearly trying to make civil conduct with someone such as yourself was unmerited. Given your complete and utter lack of tact. You should consider looking into the etiquette class, it seems to be there for people like you. Maybe, one day, you'll even be able to get through one day without making yourself look like an irrevocable horse's a**." the catty tone the end of the dragon's little tirade took betrayed how well the demon ghoul had slithered in under her skin,
Cyrilla turned away from the demon.
"Just hope we don't meet off school grounds. I'd hate to deal with the indigestion."

Viveca breathed out harshly. Her mind was a well oiled machine, thank you! Gears might turn up there, but with no great difficulty, she felt. Hadn't her parents said that school would be fun? What was so fun about some dumb old art class, followed up by having to subject herself to the presence of this dragon ghoul?
The demon laughed off her irritation at being waved away by Cyrilla. "If you could actually learn something, I might have been inclined to teach you how to properly dismiss someone," she said.
Viveca almost stopped breathing as she struggled to contain her laughter. Horses a**. If only the ghoul knew how funny that really was! And how much it wasn't an insult (she quite liked her equine behind, after all!).
Straitening up, finally, she breathed in deeply. "I'd hardly be scared to see you again, corpse. Are those dentures? Your teeth should have all fallen out long ago. Would you gum me to death?"
Actually, come to think of it, that'd be pretty gross...

"Hardly. I'd just swallow you whole. Don't need teeth for that, now do we?" she mused and walked away.
As she turned a corner and moved out of the demon's sight, the ghoul clutched her books close to her chest and heaved a sigh, calming her nerves. Her shoulder's shook, and she found herself rushing down the hall, her eyes becoming bleary.
It wasn't too long before she found herself standing outside a familiar door.
Well.
It couldn't hurt... anyways.
