Alright everyone, I have been gone for a while and I know that l left at probably the worst possible time. The guild has been undergoing small sessions of inactivity, we have been losing members left and right, gaining a bad reputation, and senseless bickering has become an epidemic in our forums. I have received plenty of private messages of people saying how unfair the crew is or how unruly some of our members are. There are some who say they want they want "the old POTS" back or that this guild is dying slowly, and at this state, I can not tell them whether or not their way of thinking is correct, but I can tell them that I plan on doing something about it.
A guild is suppose to be a place where people can come to relax and mingle amongst others while experiencing the joy of role-playing. Together people are able to create entire worlds filled with wonder and excitement all through the use of words as new adventures unfold and characters grow through experience and meeting others. That is a guild and as much as I'm sure people might get pissed off at me for saying this, POTS does not meet these standards.
I want to apologize to the members of our guild who feel as though we need some serious adjustments and I would like to inform you all that it is going to happen, sooner than you think. In this thread, I want everyone to voice their opinions IN A RESPECTABLE MANNER, of coarse. Any intentionally offensive post WILL BE DELETED. If you do happen to offend someone by accident, then simply apologize! I want every POTS member to speak, I want every voice to be heard. This a NO FLAMING ZONE, and no one, I repeat, NO ONE will be bashed for speaking out.
A couple of things I want to address before this whole thing starts:
- A New Storyline is already finished, we have just run into a couple of problems with starting it, but it will be starting ASAP. That is a promise.
- The POTS newsletters will be coming back shortly and this next newsletter will be bigger and better than any of the previous ones.
-I plan on making either a new thread of a new forum that is basically going to be a Feedback Forum. In some ways it will work in the same way the crew forum does but it will be open for the members to discuss and debate certain topics and improve the guild.
- I'm sorry. This apology goes for everyone in the guild. Things were happening in my life that prevented me from being able to dedicate time to POTS, but now things are back under control.

Yay! Well, the inactivity is an issue...and for awhile that was partly my fault...atleast for a few suna people >.<'
The bickering DOES need to stop, and there needs to be a quicker method of resolving things, other than constant chatter about the issue.

I know that some people within the guild can post at a moment's notice. Others can only maybe check once a day, without a promise of posting. There's no fixing that, unless you wanna boot someone for having a life. I also know that the activity is mainly in one or two villages, and forgive me if I'm mistaken, I think villages like Iwa are dying. I also feel that the entire guild is being run by about two people, and those that have crew rank were either given one duty by those two, or simply because they were given crew rank for being a kage or something else, then simply forgotten about. I'd suggest giving the crew a little more responsibility to pick up on some of the duty of those same two.
I intend no disrespect for anyone who may take my wording the wrong way. This is just one guy's observations. BT-Dubs: Mistah, glad yer still with us ><

I was just recently able to come back as well. and I have had some issues with getting my character back and up so I haven't noticed much of what has been going on because I can't post. yet. Some things have annoyed me a lot but ive dealt with it. But I would like to say that I for one love and have been a part of pots for a very long time. It's always been a respectable and interesting place to roleplay. POTS has been one if not THE FIRST naruto guild that I've ever role played in and it has been a fun experience. I've been happy with the service and the role playing. Every guild hits their ruff spots. So dealing with them is a matter of time. I for one liked pots a lot.

Yeah this is a problem that many people have but I think that I have come up with a solution for it. The problem is that many people are reliant on the kage to keep up activity in their village, and although that is one of the kage's jobs, we can't put all that pressure on one person. I am coming up with ways to reduce the pressure on kages and spreading the ability of leaders to take action in a village. Also with the launch of this new storyline, I think that people will have their hands tied more often than not. If all things go well than you will all see that inactivity will start to fix itself.

I'm glad that you feel this way and that you are so understanding. And I feel the same way for the most part. Hopefully with the use of this thread, the crew and I will be able to smooth over some of these ruff spots.

Yeah you're right. I was thinking that it might not be a bad idea to start a recruitment team. It would be a group of people who just spread the word about us and boast about how kickass we are. Though we would need to solve a bit of our problems first before we start doing that. Thanks for your input though, its highly appreciated.

I, on my own, think inactivity is a major problem in this guild, and it's in it's regular slump of activity currently, even if I, on my own, used to be active person in the guild, but now slowly started only to post when I needed to, due to life outside of the notebook I own. Not only that, I've also noticed that it's hard to run a guild actively, when most of the crew have a hard time getting on to gaia to help the members out. With nobody to guide them, the members get in arguments, and practically no posting gets done. People are getting upset over the fact the customs are getting backed up, and the higher ranked characters had gotten inactive. I know, when POTS first started, if I chose an autorank instead of being a host, alot of people wouldn't be bored waiting to get trained right now.

You asked me to post my opinion in this thread, Mistah, and I have a feeling that you asked me to do so because you know that, even during my times of inactivity, I still keep a watchful eye over this guild. But the truth is, I'm not sure what you want me to say about this guild that I used to consider my place of solitude.
What do you want me to say that hasn't already been said?
I've voiced my opinion and been ignored when I did. I'm not sure that I have anything left to say
What do you want me to tell you? That one of the Crew members and one of the creators of POTS verbally assaulted one another in the middle of a public chat thread? How I got sucked into the middle of it for trying to smooth the situation out? How I nearly lost a friend over the words that were exchanged?
Or would you rather me take a different standpoint? Would you rather me go into detail about how one of our new members was crushed in a public forum for voicing her opinion on a matterconcerning illegal substances that could have been severely detrimental to the guild, since not only did it violate the Gaia ToS, but it was not something that new members should be linking to POTS?
How members are sick and tired of the crew acting like gods?
One such member, as previously mentioned, was attacked in the complaints and concerns thread. What was her offense? She did what everyone did. She did what I did several weeks beforehand. She stated her opinion. She thought it was ludicrous for people who represent our guild to be advocating to legalize the use of illegal substances, particularly, marijuana. And how was she treated for doing such? She was attacked. She had members ganging up on her left and right, with no one on her side until I stepped in. I'm not saying that some of the things she said were right for her to say. because, frankly, most of them weren't. But did anyone ever stop and think "huh. If they hadn't attacked her, she wouldn't have said any of the things she said."? did anyone other than me realize that this was the case? No.
She was threatened with an Ogoun for standing up for what she believed in.
And directly after that Ogoun was recieved, the following conversation was exchanged between us: iShay-chan [Insert Member Name Here] iShay-chan [Insert Member Name Here] iShay-chan, Hi I'm [Insert Member Name Here], i pretty sure you don't know me but i just wanted to say thank you for sticking up to me, even if you didn't mean to, But it really meant a lot to me. Don't thank me for standing up for what is right, just keep doing the same thing yourself. We're on the same page with this. You aren't alone, despite the fact that several douchebags have ganged up on you. Fight for what is right. Fight for your beliefs, and you'll never go wrong. -Shay Shay, You just made me cry for the past 10 minutes, thank you so much for helping me out. I just felt like i couldn't take on any of them because I'm so new to the guild, and there is no one there to help me band together with. I have no friends there, because this has been the first time I have been on gaia in over a year, we didn't have internet in South Africa. Why do you think Kurg came back? because Storm and LT and I convinced him to. he was told that POTS is a wonderful place and that it was only getting better.
Yes. I lied. I lied to get one of the creators of POTS, one of the oldest members, one of my closest friends, to come back to us.
I'm not sure that my doing such was the right choice.
POTS is dying.
Kages are going inactive.
Members are breaking rules left and right.
Crew members are acting like gods and getting away with it.
There is a reason for the rule of NO DOUCHEBAGGERY. I wonder daily why it isn't being enforced.
And then I realized that the reason behind that is because the people breaking the rule are the ones that should be enforcing it.
POTS is slowly dying. Even our guild captain hardly ever posts here anymore.
You say that it is going to get better. That you're going to make it better. You're one person. You will only do so much. And what you do will only stay that way for a short time. In order for us to completely fix POTS, the entire Crew would need to be demoted again and handpicked by you, Gregar, and Lance if he's even still active. We would need to bring in entirely new members, and begin enforcing the rules once more.
Until that happens, POTS will continue to die.

I see what you mean and I have to say that I agree with you. Thats why I hope I will be able to spread responsibility of activity amongst other members who are able to be a bit more active than Kages. You were kind of put in a bad situation because of me sweatdrop though with everything that is going to be going on soon I think you will end up with having a lot more to do.
I honestly think the reason people keep getting into arguments is because they have nothing else to do.
How does everyone feel about rankings and training? I personally don't see how it could be of much fun to either side ( the teacher or the student ). I think that a lot of times the autoranks put aside training since most of them find it tedious...which is kinda of not good for us since that kind of what comes with the promotion.

Thank you for voicing your opinion. I understand what you are saying and you're right, there is only so much that I can do as one person. Although we won't just demote everyone in crew as most of them do mean well, we will try to work with the crew members and make sure that they govern the guild appropriately.
I am going to now enforce a new rule. "Private matters are to be private messaged."
After reading your post I've come to a conclusion, many times when fights broke out, it was due to it being in a public forum. In other words, I'm saying that the issue would have been resolved much more quickly and with less hostility if they were dealt with through PM. From this point on, if I, or anyone else in the crew sees a message that should have been addressed through PM rather than a public chat then we will delete it and tell the poster to send the message in a PM. This will cut down on people choosing sides or feeling like people are ganging up on them.
How does that sound for a resolution? I understand that it won't fix everything but it will damn sure be a start.
