Slow, silent, and relentless. The fog rolled over the fields and it's occupants in a damp, depressing blanket. And with it came a sound. Clop. Scrape. Clop. Clop. Hooves hitting what remained of the remains of a road. The fog grew thicker and thicker, causing groups to get separated and lose sight of each other until the only thing left was that sound. Growing closer, and louder, to the point where each step was a thunderous cry echoing over the area. Before it could overwhelm them, though, the fog cleared and before them was a horse...like... creature. It stared at them in silent challenge, and the air grew heavier, dragging them down. Something shiny dangled from its lips. Was this the pendant referred to in the message? THE OOC ??? HAS INVADED THE CORNFIELDS, and has the pendant (check your cell phone messages for more news about pendants) - It looks like both teams of the squad members are going to have to fight against ??? in order to get it, if they want to ensure their survival. - AT THIS POINT friendly fire is turned on. Squad members can choose to attack each other, but will forfeit attacking the boss. - Please follow the BATTLE rules when attacking, you can only attack once per turn

[Beta 4 entering the Crash site
Beta 4 is ATTACKING the ******** 4 had followed after his team mates, more because he didn't want to get left behind and less than to satisfy his curiosity. And when he got there, he sorely wished he hadn't. Right in front of them was, "HOLY ******** s**t WHAT THE ******** HELL IS THAT THING?!" he screamed, glad that he'd listened to Beta 7 and had already brought his BB handgun out. It occurred to him dimly, somewhere in the back of his head, that rubber pellets didn't seem like they would be able to do s**t against this thing. But that part of him was being overridden by the louder, whinier, more insistent portion of him that was screaming SHOOT SHOOT SHOOT, YOU DUMBASS, SHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOT!!!!
So, like the dumbass that Beta 4 was, he shot at the monster.

Oh god, what the hell was that? This had to be a dream or something! There was no way that a...a horse could be that big, or spew fire, or...just what the hell was that monster? She hadn't signed up for this!
Or...well, she had apparently, but...
She noticed someone else--one of the blue team members--fire at the creature, and she was quick to whip out her own weapon. The stake wasn't much, and it would be dangerous to get too close to the creature but the voice in her head--for some inexplicable reason--encouraged her to attack it. She had a feeling that it would plague this area and serve to be a huge danger if they didn't get rid of it now. So E-4 went for it, first running around so that she was at the creature's back (Please don't see me, please don't see me...), and then by stabbing her stake into wherever she could get it.
This was followed by her removing her stake and running like hell, hoping to get a fair distance away. She just hoped that she wouldn't have to deal with both the creature as well as the rival team members. Killing a giant, threatening horse-thing was different from going after other human beings.

[Beta Seven is entering this boss fight... LIKE A BOSS, and attacking the ???]
While she had been acting rather nonchalant about their situation (so far, she was more annoyed at the fact that she had to work with a bunch of idiots than frightened or nervous) but the sight that greeted her in the middle of the cornfield was... Enough to make her shiver as she pointed her dagger in its general direction; was the shover out of fear? Or was it out of excitement? It was... Difficult to tell, really.
"HA! You grew some balls, I see," Beta Seven laughed as Beta Four shot the... Whatever that giant, flaming horse-shaped thing was. It looks like something right out of a video game (ugh, what video game?), although again, the difference between a game and reality was that reality does not come with respawns or a save-and-load point. Frowning, she waited till Beta Four had stopped firing before charging forward with her dagger; she didn't want to go near that... That thing, but hers was a melee weapon!
It was stab it with the dagger, or box it with her bare fists.
... She would rather stab, thank you very much. Or slash it. Or poke it. Whatever she was supposed to do with a dagger (aka whatever logical thing she was supposed to do with it). Its not like she knows how to use one 'professionally' anyway...

Somewhere in the maze of corn E10 got lost, but thankfully she had a landmark to go by to find where she wanted to be. A flame! Was something on fire? That had to be it! Why else would there be fire? Maybe it was a meteor that'd hit the ground, and the fire was from the impact. Wait..if the field was on fire was going toward the fire really such a good idea?!
Before E10 could reconsider her decision and turn back she noticed where the fire was coming from. It wasn't something on fire, it was something breathing fire. "Hooooly..." Her eyes widened behind her mask and her jaw nearly dropped, staring up at the giant fire-breathing monster of a demon horse from hell.
They were supposed to fight that thing?! It was the size of a building! E10 whipped out her gun with shaking hands and pointed it up at the thing that could not be a horse. It was death. A pony of death.
It. Was. Death Pony.
She'd never held a gun before, or at least she didn't think she ever had, so when she finally did figure out how to shoot it E10 closed her eyes and fired. The bullet went whizzing past Death Pony. Crap!

Whatever he had his mind focused on at the moment was quickly dispersed at the sight of the beast before him. Forget E-10. Forget the corn. Forget whatever as going on because survival and the whole "Think of it as a video game" rule was about to be put in to play. Well, except for the fact that in video games you get second, third and so on chances. He doubted that would happen here, so he really would have to be on his toes.
Reaching back for his dagger he got ready for his first chance at battle.
'I really wish I got that gun instead of his dagger....'
If anything, at least he had his team, and the other team for now anyways, to back him up.

[BIII Is attacking the Death Horse Beast]
It wasn't hard to find the source of the disturbance, indeed it was pretty damn hard to miss. Upon arrival on the scene she saw a mixture of pink and blue suited people running at...at...what the hell was that? It was like a horse...but not, a horse from hell maybe...the sight was almost to surreal to believe and B-III skid to a stop for a moment just to gape in slack jawed wonder at the beast. It wasn't everyday you saw something like that. Ever really.
But the glint o something in its mouth brought her back to reality and then the strange message on her phone - the pendant..that beast had it..and if she had it..she would survive this horrible mockery of a trip. Pulling her stake - and once more considering a pale weapon to have at hand - she ran forward to join a group of her blue clad companions and tried to stab the beast.

Attackin' yo horse thang]
Rushing behind B4 and 7, X gasped - legitimately gasped- at the horse BEAST. This was not an ordinary horse. Something told her this despite never recalling an instance where she'd seen a horse in real life. It looked like it meant business. There was no time to be worrying about the flashy pink figures that also appeared to be attacking it- s**t was gonna go down. There appeared to be a dangling object (pendant?) by it's mouth and things clicked in X's head - everyone wanted that as well.
Calculating, calculating... a horse would have terribly strong legs (and from the looks of it, this thing was no exception) but if even two of those were taken down, then it wouldn't have a leg to stand on... so to speak. She worked up her adrenaline quite nicely as she continued to watch all the others attacking, biding her time for a good opening when the horse's hooves weren't being reared. Chance! X, with a raised mace in hand, went at the left foreleg of the beast and connected in a way that made a shiver run threw her spine on impact. ohhh that was nice~

Members from Blue and Pink Team were both here, although who knew how many other colors were lurking around? He elbowed E-8, grinning. "Who needs rubber bullets anyway? I've never been the long-distance type, myself."
E-13 stopped flipping his knife between underhand and overhand. Definitely overhand. It was time to stab something.

[E-7 Entering from Beta Scouting Party and attacking the Boss]
E-7 Had been lost in a thick bank of fog for what seemed like a few minutes but he honestly wasn't sure if it was minutes or hours or if there was even time at all here. What eventually brought him to the boss was the yellow-orange glow of what E-7 could only assume to be fire, or heat.
When he arrived he noticed there was a.... monster? What the hell. E-7 frowned behind his mask until he noticed the so-called pendant. Lofting a brow he wondered if this is what they were suppose to have. Taking no chances E-7 dug out his BB gun pausing when he noticed there were people... clad in Blue. Oh Great another team....
E-7 Finally had his BB gun out and shot at the monster, horse, fire breathing, thing. Hoping to hit it but was sorely disappointed when the bullet whizzed by not harming the creature.
E-7's HP: 30

That clop clop clopping was rather unnerving. Beta V stuck his hands in his pockets and glanced around, slowly taking in his surroundings.
Corn. There was corn everywhere. So much corn.
And the fog; it twisted and curled and undulated around them like smoke; Five saw the forms of the people around him disappearing into the smog and then reappearing elsewhere. It gave the odd illusion of transporting; which was, in fact, ridiculous. Five shook his head. This fog... he thought, taking a few steps forward. I don't like it.
And then there was the clopping again. What was that, anyway?
It was growing nearer. Nearer. Then -
...hmmm... thought Five, eying the...whatever it was. That...wasn't exactly what I had expected to come charging out of the fog. It's, uh...big. And...fiery...and, er, shiny.
...shiny?
Five narrowed his eyes. There was something hanging from the...thing's...teeth, something definitely not in sync with the rest of it. What is that..?
His mind went back to the text message from earlier. Pendant.
He wanted it. Mostly because it meant he would stay alive. Reaching around, Five slid the handgun from his bag (he needed a less awkward place to stick it; perhaps he'd put it in his hip pocket after this) and raised it, squinting in one eye as he pulled the trigger.
Sadly, his aim was quite off, and he only managed to graze the creature. Easier said than done, apparently.

Six chased after his teammates and stumbled to a stop next to one of them. That was before he realized there was another team here too... and "Hey it's Three!" He was somewhat glad to see that one of their missing team mates was still around!
What an idiot to miss the GIANT HORSE MONSTER until everyone started to attack in various manners. He ducked his head a bit as a few guns were fired near him.
Oh.. Wait..
HE HAD A GUN TOO!
The gun that he had previously been waving willy nilly was finally brought up and aimed at the monster. All he had to do was pull the trigger right? Six fired, his whole body jerking and flinching as he did so.

BXI jogged into the clearing, eyes widening at the clopping death horse that greeted her. What was going on here? Was that thing hanging from its jaws a pendant? She had no real reason to think so, but a lot of quite good reasons to believe that given the opportunity, this thing would stomp them all into oblivion, so like her fellow Betas, BXI attacked the creature with the only weapon she had, her fists. It didn't go so well.

Oh crap, oh crap, oh CRAP! What was that thing?! It looked sort of like a horse, but there was a ton of stuff that had no business being on a horse, and this thing looked dangerous. E-1 hurriedly grabbed at her dagger, which suddenly seemed woefully inadequate.
She was all for running and hiding, until she saw something shiny dangling from its mouth. The pendant? Snatching guaranteed survival from the jaws of sure death? It made an odd sense to E-1, and she forced herself to run towards the creature, instead of away. Her other team-mates were attacking, and there were even blue-clad people here. She had to take her chances.
As the dagger made a long slice in the thing's leg, E-1 was surprised at how easy that had been. She didn't want to wait around for a counter-attack, however, and quickly backed away. She tried circling the thing, hoping it would give her another opening to attack.

She had to give it to the island, she may not remember much, she may not know her name. But she knew, k.n.e.w, she had never seen a creature like that before. Although it hadn't attack yet she could see it was powerful enough to give them more than bruises. She watched some others attacking it, including the other team. Allies? Enemies? She didn't know, there had been no report of an ally with that team. She would have to watch her back, she would have to make sure her team survived...until it was time to shoot them down.
"Uhh" she closed her eyes. She didn't want to do that. Sure winning was everything to her, surviving as well. But she didn't hate people. She didn't want people dead. Not by her hands. She hadn't even spoken to anyone yet but she was dam sure she didn't want to see their blood. Their blood on her hands. The self spiral of anguish would have continued if the glistening pendent hadn't caught the light just right to twinkle in her direction. A pendent??
Now she could see it was more than defending their home bases, this was a fight for that pendent. She could sense it in all that were here. Bringing down that monster was fight 1, and the pendent? Well she better make sure she had enough strength left to fight that battle too.
