It had been a few days since they returned from the terrible, terrible island, and classes were about to start again. While they had plenty of chances to do so before, she had been so preoccupied with stuff that practicing her harp for the next music class was... Well, the last thing on her mind. In fact, if not for the fact that she had accidentally found it in her wardrobe (where she had left it after the first music class) while searching for something else, she wouldn't have remembered it at all.
Whoops.
As such, she had sent a text off to Amrita last night just before bed, something along the lines of 'May I come over and practice my harp with you for music class please? ;o; I totally forgot to before!' She had fallen asleep right after sending the text though... Hopefully Amrita said yes.
'Practicing for music class' was also an excuse to see the ghoul; after her experiences on the island, it was difficult not to think about her friends all the time. After all, 'friends' seem to be the only good thing that had came out of the school's 'mandatory field trips'... Yup, she felt closer to her friends than before. Going through life-or-death situations togethe, and worrying about each other tend to do that!
Now... Where's that harp case she borrowed...?

Amrita had actually forgotten that she even signed up for music class. It wasn't anything against Professor Blue or the class itself...it was just, she forgot. It happened from time to time. Thus, when she got the text from Lizzy asking to come over and practice, she had to stare at it for a little while.
Then stared some more.
It wasn't really until she saw the half-sized Cello leaning against her desk in the corner did it don on her...oh right, Music class! The Cello had mostly been out of sight and out of mind since the first class, but with a massive and stressful school trip since then...well, her rotting little brain was on one hell of an overload.
So much so that she had spent the last few says laying in bed on the floor, her limbs too stiff to move without great strain. A lot of time had been spent staring at the ceiling, unable to do much else...and even much too weak and board-like to bother freaking out at the way DC decided to cuddle up against her, or when he accidentally purposely used her rotting torso as a spring board to get onto the actual bed.
Stupid fire creature.
The derailing aside, the little Vetala had managed to text back that night, something along the likes of 'k', and the next day she set to putting more of an effort into moving...hey, at least it was getting easier!

After stuffing the harp into its carrier, Lizzy finally remembered to check her phone for Amrita's reply - luckily, the 'k' from the Vetala meant that all the packing up and getting ready was not for nothing! In fact, before any of her Minipets (Rosenthal mainly, especially after she vanished for 2 weeks due to the school field trip) could protest, she was out of her dorm with her harp and a bag of dried meat treats for DC.
... Although she looked like she was dressed for Christmas town, glove, scarf and trench coat. Hopefully, DC wouldn't mind her using him as a portable heater.
Finding Amrita's room was easy, since she had been there before, but the cold still bothered her quite a bit. Being dressed for the occasion helped, but she was starting to regret not making hot chocolate, putting it in a thermos, and dragging it over with her. That would be so, so lovely in this temperature! She should do it the next time she's over...
"Amrita?" She knocked on the door and then tried to turn the door knob.

Lizzy's knocking was greeted with a sharp SNNK of a failed Cello note, the surprise of hearing the door having caused Amrita to lose focus and produce a sound similar to a dying follyjox. After the initial sound there was a few minutes of scrambling, a couple whines from the little Undead that followed terribly horrid keening noises, and, after what seemed like forever, the door opened.
"Lizzy!" Amrita cried out happily, still so excited to see her friend. Not really caring for what the ghoul was holding, the little Vetala shuffled forward to hug the Demoness tightly. Well, as tightly as she could.
"H-how are you?!" She was still shaking off some full-bodied rigor. "Come in! Uhh, I was, um, practicing." If it could even be called that, she added mentally while gesturing to the half size cello leaning against her unused bed.

"Amrita!" She returned the greeting with an equal amount of excitement, smiling at the hug before returning it, holding the harp case at an odd angle. It was nice to feel that hug, to know that Amrita is real and not dead-dead. After the horrible island field trip, she was starting to enjoy acts of physical affections even more... It was a good thing her friends didn't mind spoiling her in that sense.
Walking into the room, she shivered before flopping down on the bed beside the cello. Opening her harp case to get her instrument out, she grinned, "Well, I guess I've been good? I slept for a day - or was it two? - after that trip... But things are going back to normal!" She said it like it was a good thing, and it was! Just that the occasional nightmare still haunts her... Shivering at the thought - and at the cold - she added, "And how about you?"
The first thing she did after taking out her instrument, however, was to open the bag of treats she had brought for DC; while she liked the minipet, it was also because DC was a mini heater. She really needed the heat right now.
"Oh! And where's DC?"

Well, it was good to hear that she wasn't the only one that had slept for a few days. Well, minus the sleeping. Amrita had done an aweful lot of laying there doing nothing. When time came for the question to get pushed back to her, she jumped as though shocked and tented her fingers together.
"Um!" Oh Jack, what should she say?! "T-the same, uh, really...I couldn't...Icouldn'tmovethoughthat'sthedifference." Clearing her throat despite not needing to, the subject was thankfully changed, even if it was changed to the creature of her everlasting hatred. She looked around, and upon not spotting the evil beast, pointed to the bed instead. "P-probably under there." She murmured low.
As if on cue, Lizzy would feel a set of claws against her foot, though it was a playful bat as opposed to an actual gouging...and the low rumble of a little Death Charm that was up to no good.

"You couldn't move?" She echoed back; judging from the tone of her voice, she was concerned about that... Why wouldn't Amrita be able to move? She was fine when they returned from the island, right? From the way she was looking at the Vetala, Lizzy was obviously waiting for some sort of an explanation, even if it was only to stop herself from worrying too much.
When she felt something touch the back of her foot, however, she was momentarily distracted from her own question. Giggling softly before pulling her legs up onto the bed, crossing them Indian-style before she carefully adjusted the harp's position so that it was sitting within the space created by her crossing her legs.
"Up here, DC," She patted the space to her left before placing the whole bag of treats down beside her, figuring that Amrita might want to sit on her right and away from DC. Maybe they could get in a little practice, if DC behaves himself...

"Yes." Amrita confirmed with a firm nod, but as she was not actually asked to elaborate, she did not. Instead she stared with disdain down at the fire minipet that was purring in it's terrifying way, and shuffling closer to her half-size cello.
DC pounced from under the bed, crawling oh-so-stealthy on his belly to the spot that Lizzy had gestured for him. Still growl-purring and hiss-keening, it rolled onto it's side and ground-crawled, cuddling into the ghoul's leg hard; clearly it didn't realize it was a pointy fire pet. Soon enough he did stop moving, his back flush against the side of Lizzy's legs, his tail thumping on the ground happily. Hee, demon girl who liked to be leaned on!
"S-So....practicing...?" Amrita was holding her cello in one backwards hand, and had the bow in the other.

"Why couldn't you move...?" She asked, seeing how she obviously needed to be specific where Amrita was concerned, "Was something wrong?" She looked even more worried than before now, and even DC couldn't lift her spirits; besides, the way he was giving physical affection was quite... Uh, painful. She offered the Minipet a small smile and patted him on the head, glad for the warm. She then proceeded to put the whole bag of treats down behind DC.
Hopefully, he wouldn't eat all of it at one go... There should be enough to last the trip!
"Yes, that's what I'm here for, after all!" She gave a soft giggle, running her fingers gently along the strings on the harp; she was still waiting for that explanation though.

"Umm...If I get too excited and move too much, th-this body kind...kind of...umm..." Amrita fidgeted, struggling to find the words to explain what this body did. Hopefully Lizzy wouldn't be too worried or anything! "...L-locks?" She guessed awkwardly, drawing the bow across the strings to recreate a nice, ear-splitting schiiiiiiiirk.
"AH. S-SORRY!" She wailed unhappily, trying again only a smidgen quieter.
DC snorted at the noises, but looked very curious at the candies. Oooh, food! He was not hungry whatsoever, but that didn't stop him from lazily batting the bag until one fell out and rolled to him.

"Ah..." She frowned at Amrita at the new piece of information, not quite sure what to make of it; well, as long as it is a normal thing for her rather than something life FEAR-threatening! Feeling relieved, she smiled and nodded, "I'm glad its nothing serio-!"
Ow, that really hurt her ears!
"I-its alright," A soft chuckle followed as she tried not to wince too much, "That's why we're practicing, right?" She was glad the harp doesn't make such noises even if she were to do it wrong... The worst that could happen is it not making a sound, or the note comes out weird.

"Y-yeah...Practicing. Still, sorry." Amrita apologized, shooting a glance at the Death Charm who was attempting to eat on his side. It was a silly fire beast, and it would have been cute had it not been fire. Gulping uncomfortably, the little Vetala took a minute side step, easily passed off as fidgeting, and attempted to go back to playing.
"How have you been...?" She asked, unaware that a similar question had already been posed.

If she knew what Amrita was thinking, she would have insisted that DC is cute, fire beast or not. Then again, its not like Lizzy didn't understand how dangerous fire could be, having been burnt to a crisp twice in her short year in school.
"Well enough," She couldn't resist chuckling even as she plucked at the strings of the harp, "You already asked me just now! And I asked you the same question too."

Amrita did not flinch at her own terrible playing. In fact she was trying to tune herself out, since it seemed to work better when she wasn't concentrating whatsoever. Instead, she looked honestly surprised at Lizzy's words. She did ask that already, really? Hrm. She didn't---Oh. So she did! Pressing her lips together, a grey eye moved to look away, her head tilting slightly in the same direction.
"Oh. Um. S-sorry. Ah..." Nibbling on her bottom lip now, she pondered what else to say. "...Oh! Have you, um, seen Christof...lately...?" She was honestly curious as to where the Igor was, as she still had to thank him for the fire pet container in the corner.

"There's no need to apologize!" Her eyes widened ever so slightly, however, at the mention of Christof. The fact that Amrita seemed rather concerned about the Patchwork did not escape her, seeing how she had asked about him when they stumbled through the portal on the island to get back to school... Were they always this close?
Hm. Curious.
"Well, the last time I saw him was after we walked through the portal," She finally replied, tilting her head in her friend's direction, "So... No... Is something the matter?"
