Miyra was born blind. She doesn't recall having a family. She can't see by herself. She walks with a stick but can sense people and objects with her improved senses. She human, completely normal...except for one tiny thing...
When she touches people she can see what they see through their eyes. She can hear their thoughts, see their past, feel their dreams, see their nightmares, feel what they feel, etc. Basically it's almost as if she's them, as long as she's touching them. when she pulls away, she's back into the darkness.
The only family she knows is the foster family system...which did squat for her. She ran from that and was pointed towards Reed's when she bumped into a man familiar with her odd powers and knew of the magical school.
