(( This thread is open to the first three Delta Squad members to join D7. Please no more Delta members than that, though less is fine.
Of course, we cannot control who from other Squads might appear *lol* But I don't want a huge group of DSquad, thank you for your consideration <3
Posting order: kalindara soliloquy in aria Syusaki Kanth

Delta 7 swept out of the green tent, leaving the others behind. They sure seemed to like to talk. Most of them had woken before him, and none had made a move other than stand around arguing over what to do. D7 wasn't a leader, and wasn't aiming to be one, but it was pretty obvious to him that a full consensus was never going to be reached. It was also obvious that it wasn't necessary - let people do what they wanted. The people who went in twos would be easy targets for others, those who went in larger groups would only be able to move slowly. Each would have to deal with the consequences of their actions.
Did they really not realise that this was some kind of giant, ******** up game? With their lives on the line, admittedly, so the most serious kind of game there was - but eventually it would be down to everyone out for themselves. Perhaps small alliances might make it through together. But there was no conceivable way that the whole dozen or more from Delta Squad would be the final survivors.
He looked around. The green tent was close by a large lighthouse. In the distance he could see a teal tent - rivals already, so close by. D7 headed in the opposite direction. Perhaps he might investigate the Lighthouse itself. But first he'd get an idea of the lay of the land. He made for higher ground.

[D6 entering thread]
She strode quickly out from the home base entrance and into the fog, wishing the weather would clear so they would at least have an idea of where they were going.

[ D12 entering thread ]
Delta Twelve stumbled out of the tent, his head quickly looking left and right for any flashes of green that he could follow. It was fortunate that he had reacted quickly, because spotted D6 up ahead. “Six!” he called. He widened his strides so he could catch up to her. "Where's . . ." He tried to remember the number. "Seven?" Were they even trying to find D7 at all? Twelve had no idea. He had an inclination to do whatever came to mind rather than meticulously plan.

[Delta Four joining thread]
"Please wait." Delta Four called, her pace quickening to catch up to him. She didn't really have a problem with catching up, she just wanted to make sure they were all in the same area. She didn't trust any part of this place, and these were the closest people she could come to trust.
If they were trustworthy, anyway.

"This way," D7 called out, hearing voices behind him.
The fog was terrible, moreso further from the lighthouse. D7 could see where he was going, but the area further away from the lighthouse was a mass of impenetrable grey. He was hoping that higher ground would lift them above it, though he doubted their luck would be that good - otherwise they wouldn't be here at all. Supposedly they had all signed up for this, but without memories, how could they really be sure of that?
Not that he was going to sit around and bemoan his fate. If D7 had wanted to do that, he would have stayed back in the tent and argued with the others.

As they moved further and further from the bright green home base, D6 noticed that they seemed to be walking along the edge of a cliff. Below it-- darkness, probably ocean. Behind them, she could just make out the silhouette of a tall lighthouse.
"He's up there," she replied to Delta Twelve. "And walking fast. I don't think we'll be able to expect much teamwork from him," she added under her breath.
She didn't expect their entire team to survive. I probably won't survive, she reminded herself. Her breath shortened as they made their way towards higher ground, weighed down by the heavy mask and armor they wore. Whatever her real life was, clearly she hadn't been athletic. And she couldn't imagine herself fighting someone, but she told herself to accept whatever came her way. If she had to die, she could at least die trying, instead of passively. As she lost herself in thought (and angst), D7 had gone even further ahead of the rest of them. She quickened her pace to keep up.

It wasn't long before Delta Four caught up to Delta Seven, shrugging her shoulders. It seemed to be a habit for her - shrugging her shoulders. "What do you intend to find up here?" She asked casually, glancing off of the cliff, and stepping away from it as she kept walking. "The fog is so very thick, I am not sure we even -can- find anything."

“Oh, I see,” answered Twelve, twisting his head towards the direction of Delta Seven’s voice. He heard Six muttered something in a low voice, but failed to clearly catch it. Though he had a vague idea what she might have said, he decided not to say anything. Instead, he teetered along the very edge of the cliff, his legs moving in a swinging, playful fashion. Unlike Six, Twelve’s past-self seemed to have conditioned his body for athletics. It made him wonder what he had been like before coming to the island.
Silence. After a while, Delta Twelve decided to glance over at D6 and D4. He noticed D4 passing by to meet up with D7 and he grinned. He saw D6, her head slightly downcast and seemingly—according to his gut feelings—sulking over something. “Don’t think too much about the future. Just think about the now.” Although, the now was probably even bleaker than the future.

"The fog's not too terrible right here," D7 shrugged, pausing to wait for the others. "I wouldn't risk trying to reach other parts of the island, but it's light enough to explore this area."
No risk, no gain. And at least the fog wasn't thick enough over the actual lighthouse area that they'd walk off a cliff without knowing it. It was more like the fog was forming a natural barrier, keeping them where they were for now.
Probably a good idea, D7 thought. Trying to acclimatise to all this would be difficult enough without all the other squads trying to pick them off. At least they only had one to worry about - well, and anyone from Delta squad who got too ambitious.
"I dunno if there's anything to find," he said to D4 while they waited for the others. "We won't know if we don't look. And besides, anything's better than just standing around in the tent. I reckon people are less likely to panic if they're actually doing something."
He shrugged again. That was how he felt, anyway. And he hadn't forced anyone to come with him.
"I ain't trying to tell people what to do. I wanted to explore, so I left. I don't like being so cooped up with lotsa people."

She turned to Twelve, grateful for the interruption from her thoughts, and smiled-- even if it couldn't be seen through the masks. "Thanks. I think I needed that."
D4 had caught up to D7 now, and they seemed to be conversing with each other up ahead. The four of them were still trudging forwards through the fog, but when would they reach whatever they were looking for? The ground was still hard and craggy. She stared at the fog, trying to make out any hints of scenery in the distance.
"So what do you think of this whole thing?" she asked Twelve, eyes still focused in front of her. "You're probably taking it better than I am," she continued with a bleak laugh, "most seem to be. I don't know how I should feel, being put on this island to die."

Twelve wanted to take off his mask and show her his wild grin, to further reassure her that things would be lighten up, but smothered the temptation. Instincts told him that it would not be a pretty sight. He settled for energetically leaping over to Delta Six’s side. After stumbling for a few steps and flailing to regain his balance, he began to calmly walk next to D6. He frowned at the emptiness of her laugh.
“I guess, but it’s better than obsessing over something that may or may not happen.” It was likely he would not make it out alive either, but drowning in angst would do him no good. “To be honest, I don’t mind dying—uh, well, depending on the circumstances. But, until then, we should both focus on our survival, right?” Delta Twelve began to slowly pick up his pace, each step bringing him closer to D7 and D4, but he always made sure to look back to make sure that Six was still there.

Delta Seven couldn't help but overhear the other two as they caught up. "What he said," D7 jerked a thumb at Twelve. "We weren't put here to die. We were put here to survive. They said something about it being a test, right? No sense going into this thinking you're gonna lose. Focusing on winning, instead."
He liked that D12 seemed more positive about the situation than the others. Though that line about not minding if he died was a little worrying. If D7 was going to rely on anyone else out here, he wanted it to be people who were firmly committed to staying alive - not those resigned to dying.

Hearing the sound of stumbling against rock, she turned to see Twelve flailing wildly and a giggle rose out of her throat. "You're right. We need to look forward." She was glad to be around someone so cheerful-- but not to the point of annoyance, like the one who had tried to take control back at the tent. Even more so, she was glad for the reassurance, and she chided herself for letting herself angst so much to the point that she could've become a burden, both to the team and to her own chances of survival. They all had to do the best they could.
"I would ask you how you came to be here, if only any of us knew. So, about this weather..." As they moved forward, the fog didn't seem to be getting any thinner. "Should we turn back towards the lighthouse? Maybe there might be something worth exploring there."

Twelve frowned. “I never liked thinking about losing or winning.” He paused, mulling over what he just said. “I’d rather not think about losing or winning,” he later corrected. Last time he checked, Twelve was still an amnesiac. “I’ll definitely do my best to keep surviving—I want to know what the heck is going on—but I don’t fear death, either.” He paused. After a while, Twelve added, “I really hate tests. Whoever came up with this convoluted idea is crazy.”
He jumped two steps ahead of the other two and spun around so that he faced his teammates as he walked backwards. Not the smartest course of action, but Twelve didn’t worry about that. “We can keep going or go to the lighthouse. I don’t mind either way.”
