The thought of sleeping had always come easily to the small senshi of sleep, even when Destiny City's dreams were being overwhelmed by chaos and danger. She went with open arms, determined to face it completely as if it were no different than the waking world. For her position in the world, it seemed appropriate that she thought this way and while the night world had been in chaos the child had happily gone to bed and even taken part in the chaos, often wandering around a battlefield in search of her dream friends. Other people may not think that dreams or real, or whatever happens in a dream is fake but to the child they were the same as reality. She knew her friends were real, even if everyone else told her otherwise. Unfortunately, to believe such things also meant the child had to believe that the fake prince was also real and that he had also tried to endanger the very real princess Chronos. How could she believe in something so unbelievable? She may as well say the sky was green! Unfortunately, the child knew it was real and her spirits were lowered.

The child was wandering through the city, only with the cushion of bunny slippers under her feet. She searched for answers to questions that no one knew, or even cared about for that matter. No one other than her, it seemed. This reality could only crush her hopes even more as she staggered. How could everyone be so unwilling to believe that chivalry and the bravery of a prince were so pure and true? How could someone be willing to pretend they were such a thing when they were so clearly willing to hurt someone they should protect?

At this point the child had ended up in a park nearby a busy night club. It was noisy, but the child barely seemed to hear it. She found herself sitting down under a tree, her blue eyes looking up sadly at the sky as she sought answers from the stars. Surely they knew the truth, the answer? Would it be the answer she was looking for? The child didn't know, but she curiously thought about it before she looked to the bunny plush in her arms. He was a prince, and he was a gentleman. He protected her when he was in danger and never put her in it. He would shield her, throw his life on the line for her if he had to. Why had the other prince been so wrong? Her thoughts didn't make anything better and soon her legs curled up towards her chest and her arms wrapped around with her bunny sitting between her legs. Softly she rested her head on her knees, once again looking at the sky.

She wore a frown on her face, an expression very similiar to the one she had in Elysion. That look of betrayal. It wasn't as strong, but it was very much there.

Pollux was not in any hurry to be out patrolling the streets of Destiny City. Much less was he in any hurry to save some stranger on the street. Sure, as a civilian he might help someone pick up fallen books, or help a tourist with directions but as a senshi? Humf. Might as well beat him with the lazy stick. Of course that didn't mean he was going to turn a blind eye to potential crime victims or 'I am a huge a** walking target, please, feel free to attack me.'

Which was mostly why as he walked by and spotted a child, maybe 11 or less, wandering in what looked like her PJs, alone, Pollux's had his warning bell switched on. Child alone late at night. A perfect target for anyone, not just crazy a** monsters. Combined with the fact a night club wasn't to far away, all Pollux could see was an accident waiting to happen. Drunks see a kid, tease, take it to far, kid gets hurt, hello tragic story at the 7 am news. That was all it would take. Sighing he figured he could try to go over. Maybe kids wouldn't see him as a terrorist. Well, that or scream 'stranger danger'. He'd had that happen once. Some parents didn't like having their kids told that the elevator in the hotel lobby was not a toy.

Ah, distracting thoughts. Putting them aside, Pollux walked rather calmly to the kid, a frown marring his face as he took note of her melancholy. "Kid." He was a poet. "You shouldn't be out so late, much less alone." He didn't look anything like what the chibi of sleep might consider a prince. If anything Pollux was the angry steward. Arms crossed, a look of mild concern mixed with a disapproving scowl. "You should be in bed."

Footsteps. The child could hear footsteps coming towards here. They were heavier than hers, someone older? She didn't look though, distracted by the sky and her own thoughts. It wasn't until he spoke to her that the child's eyes slowly left the starry sky and looked up at the young man who was addressing her, taking note of his crossed arms and disapproving scowl. She tilted her head slightly, the mix of stars and moons hanging from her forehead clearly visible now as it swayed with her movement. What was wrong with him? Was he sad too? Either way, she didn't know who he was and there was no way she was going to bed. She couldn't sleep peacefully tonight, there was too much weighing heavily on her mind for her to give into sleep right now.

"The night sky is beautiful tonight," she said softly with a hint of sorrow. It was a perfect night to contemplate your concerns, and apparently meet new people. It was a perfect night for those, but it was not a perfect night to be in bed. How could you enjoy those things there? She smiled a little, it glowing dimly like a distant star. Bright in the sky, but unreachable. "Do you not agree?"

She...It was there. A power signature. He'd missed it earlier, but that close, and the sight of her alternate tiara erased any lingering doubts. Pollux was looking at another senshi. A child senshi no less. Kids these days. What was next? Mind controlling house plants? Aliens? Bounty Hunters from Space? Time machines in Police Boxes? Wands and wizards? Stolen furniture fanatics? He hoped none of those things came to be. Destiny City was crazy enough as it already was. No more need for crazy thank you.
He reply made him raise a brow. The sky? Looking up his scowl deepened. The tall-tell signs of artifical stars and planes acting like stars, the real ones hidden under the glowing lights of city life. He'd have much rather been able to see the actual stars, just not some reflection of artificial light. To bad, so sad. With a sigh Pollux got ready to shile the small senshi and urge her to go home, but her smile killed him. She had the look.

The look was something akin to a wet kitten. It was small, depressing, and called out to him to give it aid, even if he really didn't want to show it. Kids and their sad kitten faces. Some adults had them, (Like his brother at times), and most girls were born with the ability, (like Jada). Kids were the worst. They did it not even knowing they did. Reluctantly, (or was it timidly?), Pollux sat himself in the other swing. "Could be better in my opinion." He shrugged. Overall, the girl's small smile gathering more of his sympathies. "You seemed to depressed to enjoy it anyhow. Care to explain?"

Could be better? Hypnos couldn't disagree, not when she had seen much better before. She once had the pleasure of floating in space, and the beauty that surrounded it could not viewed from the Earth's citylines or countryviews. The view was reminiscent but it was not the same, it was nothing in comparison but at least it gave a comforting feeling that sitting inside her bedroom did not. He was talking to her now, and even sitting next to her.

"I... I thought I had finally met a prince," she began, her bunny slippers falling forward with her foot as she leaned forward, her eyes looking at Pollux from the corner before they reached back up to the stars. "It was a dream of mine," she said, double meanings slipping from her lips. "A wonderful man who would protect a princess... He would be someone who was gentle and kind; someone who protected the innocent and cared about what happened to strangers. He couldn't even care what happened to a princess. It was just a lie..."

There was a long pause.

"My dream was turned into a nightmare and now I'm afraid to dream again."

Pollux hadn't been to space yet. For a few good number a reasons. The biggest being the fact that apparently it was cold in space. And Pollux hated the cold. Someday however he would go into space and be amazed, perhaps going so far to make it a habitual thing. Until then however, Pollux was firmly planted on earth. Earth was where he'd been born, senshi or not. Even if he had a 'past life', he certain that he was nothing like his brother-
"Prince?" Pollux's eyebrow raised questioningly. He had met a prince? That certainly didn't happen everyday. Or night. Unless of course, you were him. And were subject to having the fact thrown at you in an almost dickish manner.

Pollux watched the girl's expression change and felt..pity? Sadness? A jumble of conflicting emotions. A dream or not, it clearly had upset her. Little girls were like their bigger counterparts in many ways, always wanting to find their prince charming. The little ones just voiced it with more innocence. And less...social awkwardness. But hearing her, Pollux could feel that same disappointment that came with broken dreams and shattered illusions. Sighing, he swung a bit back and forth, trying to find the right thing to say.
"I- well."
He didn't know what to say really. Aside from 'that sucks'. And he couldn't just say that!
"Dreams...are good to have, nightmares just help remind us that some dreams are harder to find than others." There. That sounded right.
Okay maybe not the best but." Look, if it's any consolation, I know a prince. A real one. He'd tell you all about his princess if you let him. I don't know if he's....gentle, but he's a decent guy." Pollux had to give Castor some credit.
"Even if he does like to make me do extra paper work at 3 am."

Sailor Chibi Hypnos tried to think about it. Did nightmares make dreams more worthwhile? Did the idea that the prince was a fake make her want to find a real prince even more? It certainly did remind her that it wasn't as easy as just opening a book and watching as word by word the prince comes gallantly to save the princess. She really wanted this dream, not only to find her prince, but to meet a prince. A real prince. A prince who would gladly lay down his sword, a prince who would protect the innocent and save the princess trapped in the tower. Still... the child sighed as she was unable to come to a conclusion.

"... I know a prince. A real one." echoed through the child's head and it snapped towards Pollux, a spark from her still-alive dream in her saddened eyes. Did he really know a prince? She listened to him talk, carefully. A prince with a princess! Was it Princess Chronos? She mentioned she had a prince. Oh, wouldn't that be delightful? She would definitely let a prince go on and on about his princess.

"You're so lucky," she decided out loud. "Is he nice? He'd never hurt a princess, right? How did you meet him? Do you see him often? What does he look like? Does he have a trusty horse?" Every prince needed a horse to ride gallantly into the sunset on after rescuing their princess. Either way, she'd asked nearly every question she could except, 'Can I meet him too?'

Kids were like tiny demons. They would act sweet but behind that face was a monster, ready to rip your face off to get what they wanted. So when Pollux saw the shift in the chibi senshi he felt grim. Oh god what had he gotten himself into this time? Apparently a little girl's ideology of royalty, that was for sure. "He's...okay. He's my brother so I don't think that leaves me without much bias. And no, He wouldn't hurt a princess, maybe flirt but not hurt.." In the back of his head he said to himself, 'not on purpose anyway'. Elzo, er, Castor had the nasty happy of saying s**t and not realizing just what he said often enough. So, who could really say?

"And our horses are back home, it wouldn't be sound of us to have them brought here when they are perfectly fine in Italy." It was more information about himself then he intended. Damn kids, getting those little bits of information due to their innocent nature. If he wasn't careful, Pollux might just end up becoming her..'friend'. Otherwise known as baby sitter. Ironically it wouldn't have been the first time.

"I take it if you could, you'd want to meet him some time."

The little senshi was relieved to hear Sailor Pollux confirm that his brother would not hurt a princess. It was almost just as exciting to hear that they really did have horses. Of course a prince would have horses! She was a little sad that they weren't here where she could visit them but at least they wouldn't be homesick! It was slow but following the thought of their horses, the fact Sailor Pollux said the prince was his brother slowly began to dawn in on the child's mind. It was curious. Her arms pressed into her skirt, and she leaned forward towards Sailor Pollux, inspecting him carefully. She had two thoughts and she could barely hold them in!

"Italy? You lived in Italy?" She echoed him, following with a small pause and an inquisitive, "Where's Italy?" She heard of Italy before, mostly from her mother in regards to fashion, but she had no idea where it actually was. Was it nearby? Could they go see them? Maybe it wasn't impossible for her to see them. This was an exciting thought on its own, but the second one that followed it was just as exciting. "You're brother is a prince! Does this mean you're a prince too? That's how royalty works, right?"

The last thing he said seemed like a question, and the child had only one answer for it. She blushed a little, and looked away as her fingers fell into each other and her hands clasped together. She would very much like to meet him someday. Perhaps she could meet his princess too. She quickly nodded her head and quietly replied with a, "Dreams can come true."

Pollux watched Hypnos and her reactions. She was a child, and her innocence, her youth was moderately refreshing. He spent his days with men older than himself, suits and ties and people out for the blood of the company rivals. So the fact Hypnos was just...not like that was nice. A break in typical monotony of his interactions with others. "Yes, Italia." He let his accent come out over the word. "It's far away, across the sea, I also lived in France at one time. Germany for a summer, and Spain for a short while. My childhood was mostly in New York so...I am not so foreign. Just lucky in that I was educated overseas." He shrugged. Boarding school after school. Transferring in and out. It was a bleak time, when he had no one, just Elzo. Then they'd come to Destiny City, and it all changed.

He question of relativity did make him laugh outright. "Er, well, technically if he was a traditional prince, but no. I'm just a regular senshi. He is prince of his own world." A shrug. "I assume I must have been just senshi of my own, he said its one of the few things he can't recall from the past. He knows I was there with him. But not my place. Not my rank. I was just his brother. Nothing more. Nothing less. Royalty for a senshi isn't the same like it is here on earth."

She was indeed, innocent in her questions, and genuine. Pollux felt his normal apathy giving way. "You truly want to meet him then? Even if he is annoying?"

"I wasn't originally from Destiny City either," she mentioned. "My parents sent me here in December! My mother used to move a lot but our home was in California and I lived in New York with my father! My mother has been to Italy, but she didn't take me with her. She brought me shoes with a matching dress though! She really liked shoes." Needless to say, her mother would tell her friends she only got the shoes for her daughter because they didn't have a size she could wear, but secretly she really liked to dress up her child like a doll. It was one of the only good things about having her around. All those cute clothes she couldn't fit into anymore would fit Ainsley without a problem.

"She took me to Paris once. We seen a fashion show," it was once of the few memories that Ainsley had of her and her mother doing anything together. One cherished memory to keep her going while she could not see her mother's pretty face. Without knowing it, Sailor Chibi Hypnos had ended up talking about herself without meaning to and lightly blushed as she tried to catch up. He had told her he wasn't a prince even though his brother was and she had to wonder about that. How did that work? She tried to understand but it was a bit difficult for her to grasp.

"I still like you even if you aren't a prince!" She announced to him.

The big question finally came and she smiled softly, her hands pressing into her chest as she thought about it. It wasn't a rush decision but it also didn't require thought. She had thought about it her entire life, and this conversation. "Truly," she nodded.

It was...sad for him to hear at the very least. "It can be..hard living with two parents who are not together all the time." His own were hardly prime examples of good parenting. They were just above the poster parents for 'abusive'. But in modern America, the idea that if you had an image of a good family their certainly wasn't any abuse right? Nothing under the surface. The notion Pollux scoffed at; That was his family's poster. Perfecting the illusion of a loving home for business, and wanting nothing but to kill each other behind closed doors.

"Paris eh? That's nice. The fashion there alone is-" He chuckled, wondering if a child might find his taste for fashion strange. "It's a wonderful city." He left it at that. Ruffling her head a bit, Pollux gave her a soft smile. "I'm glad, I don't think I'd make a good prince anyway. I think I'd prefer the role of steward while the prince is off with his princess so to speak."

Pulling out his phone he dialed a number. Voice flowing into Italian as the voice on the other line laughed. Phone flipped closed, and Pollux smiled. "Consider the prince on his way."

Parents were funny things, especially the child's own. They thought it was socially acceptable to send their children off to live elsewhere, and as long as they spoiled them with more money than they would possibly need, that they were the perfect parents. It wasn't so bad though, at least she had parents who made sure there was a roof over her head even if they weren't under that roof or even in the same state as the house the roof is on. It wasn't so bad, at least she wasn't a starving or homeless child. It would be awful to not only be loveless but to be hungry and homeless as well. Of course, Sailor Chibi Hypnos didn't think of herself as loveless. She thought her parents loved her a lot, and maybe they did, in their own way.

"The fashion is," she paused, thinking of a word. She couldn't think of a word so instead she threw her arms up in an outstretched manner as to say it was way out there. It was the only way she knew how to explain it. She did agree that the city was wonderful. It was so beautiful from the balcony of her hotel room.

Pollux wouldn't make a good prince? The child shook her head and pouted. "You'd make a good prince!" She objected as she immediately got to her feet and began to gather flowers and stuff from the plants nearby. She would show him! She looked at him as she held some flowers in her arms to find him on the phone. Who was he calling? More importantly, what was he speaking? She didn't understand it. She couldn't worry about that though, she had to prove to him and while he was talking she quickly began to tie the flowers together until she made a flower laurel out of them, or a crown. However you wanted to look at it. It was a rush job and probably wouldn't stay together longer than a few hours but Sailor Chibi Hypnos looked at it as a crown.

She took the crown and walked back over to Sailor Pollux to hear him say the prince was on the way. Her eyes went wide, and she nearly dropped the crown she had made out of flowers. She was so excited, and she found herself spinning around on her bunny slippers until she nearly toppled over. After the excitement calmed down, several minutes later, the child smiled and held up the crown over the senshi's head and placed it down.

"A prince for the night!" She giggled.
PostPosted: Sun Jun 12, 2011 8:21 pm

He laughed again. Such was the magic of a child, such was the magic of innocence. "Trust me. A prince I am not." The crown of flowers tipped on his head. He felt better and more relaxed, even if her told himself it was dangerous to drop his guard like this, even for a child. "But, the crown is nice, even if it-" The flowers drooped, one falling onto his face, making him smirk. "See? My crown even agrees with me. Perhaps I best leave the being a prince to the real prince. Even if for a night." He sat down on the swing again, kicking back and forth.

"Come, sit and wait, Castor will be here soon enough." And of course, he was. The eternal senshi of hail arrived, and at the sight of his brother, flower crown and all, he laughed. "That's a good look Bro. Is there something I aught to know about you-"
"You really need to work on opening your eyes Castor, Especially-"
"Oh hey there, you look a bit familiar. Have we met before?" Castor walked up to Hypnos, all smiles. "Prince Castor. Well, Eternal Senshi, can't really walk around the city with wings you know." Pollux just sighed and scoffed.
"Hypnos, this is my brother, the prince I told you about." Castor hardly looked prince like. "This is Chibi Hypnos Castor-"
Castor was busy. Busy stealing himself the other swing.

The laughter in the air was a much more pleasant vibe than the one the two originally had and although he seemed to be objecting to being called a prince in any way, he hadn't removed the crown from his head which could only bring a smile to the child's face. The smile only grew wider as the flowers seemed to droop down until the child was laughing in spits of giggles. Reglardless of what he was objecting to he was certainly the vision of a prince to the child, even if just a moment.

She was almost too excited to stay still but when Pollux told her the prince would be here soon and that she should sit down she took up the swing beside him, looking up at the sky as she waited. It didn't take long before the Senshi of Hail made his appearance. Well, she heard him before she seen him and she felt like she had heard his voice before. She couldn't pin-point where she had heard it before, but it sounded like she had. She turned to look as Pollux addressed him as Castor, and immediately leaned forward in the swing with a smile as he walked over to her.

"I don't think we have met before. You sound familiar but I do not remember you." There wasn't much pause between it, but enough as the child politely gathered her words. "It's my pleasure to meet you Prince Castor!" Of course, she was suddenly imagining him with the wings he mentioned, bright white and pure like the hail that fell from the sky. She might be disappointed to learn they were actually black, but she would love them regardless. Her thoughts swayed, and her eyes fell on his buttwings with a grin. They looked so fluffy and soft, she just wanted to play with them. In fact, the child made an attempt to reach them only to miss as Castor distracted himself in finding the other swing.

He seemed rather aloft as he found himself the last swing as Pollux tried to introduce them. She smiled at Pollux happily, and then looked towards Castor with the smile still on her face. She looked at Castor's face, his hair, his eyes before she turned to do the same at Pollux. Brothers. They looked a lot alike, but that was to be expected, wasn't it?

"Thank you for coming!" She said, clapping her hands together. "You took a lot like your brother!"

There was a definite pause as Hypnos looked at Castor. A long draw as she thought about the question. It was one she had asked his brother, but it was such an important question that she felt like he should answer it too. She fumbled her hands down, pressing them against the hem of her skirt.

"Prince Castor, you wouldn't ever hurt a princess, right? You wouldn't throw her out to the sharks? You wouldn't take her trust and toss it to the bears with her... right?" The vision of Princess Chronos being offered up by the fake prince Endymion was distinctly presented in the child's eyes as she waited. It was THE question, the answer would effect the outcome of the night as they knew it.
