The day was slowly coming to an end. The sun was beginning to fade behind the mountains with the last rays of sunlight glowing across the woodlands. Florian was a bit upset that the day seemed to end so quickly.
She wasn't yet ready to face the darkness as these days of being alone were starting to take a toll on her. Florian had always spent most of her days with her family and always had someone at her side. But those days were something of the past. She didn't like to think of herself being alone out in the forest, but it was the truth.
Most nights were cold and quiet with only a couple--just a few birds chirpping. At first she thought the noise was annoying but she quickly took a liking to the sweet birdsongs.
Florian wandered the hoothills of the small mountain ranges. She had decided to look to the mountains for a couple spare caves and crevices to spend the night in, but so far no luck. She sighed deeply as she kept a cautious and hopeful look in her eyes.
Florian was determined to find some place at least semi warm and dry because the other night it rained and she was awaken by a horrible chill.
The young mare paused with her head raised up high as she took a gander around. The sunlight was fading away and nothing but shadows were taking it's place. It would be another cold night alone in the woodlands. But Florian was used to that even though she wasn't fond of the idea.
She turned around then and walked just below the hills. She sighed deeply as she lay down onto the soft grass. A faint smile curved to the corners of her lips as the grass felt somewhat comforting. Not much but a little. She raised her head, ears pulled back as she looked to the sky. The grey clouds floating away to reveal the many stars that lit up the night sky. Her smile began to blossom as star-filled nights were always her favorite from the way the stars twinkled and everything seemed peaceful.
The birds weren't chirrping like they usually did. Everything was calm.
Florian sighed as she stretched out her neck and wondered what the world would look like while looking down from a star and if anyone else was enjoying this beautiful night.
