If one were to look at Karakura from a bird's eye view, they would see Downtown, a bustling mass of vehicles and people milling about and appearing like ants so far below, beyond Downtown they'd see Uptown a spacious community with a few hovercraft and people about their everyday lives, usually housekeepers and students on their way to class. Beyond Uptown though there is an area of town known only as "The Outskirts" a reminiscent of the comet's impact The Outskirts are a desolate, abandoned area where old and abandoned houses and buildings stand as if for the ghosts that haunt Karakura's everyday life. Street Gangs are the main populates of this area, delinquents, hoodlums and full-blown criminals make this desolate area their home. With cracked and broken asphalt, the smell of industrial waste and smog in the air, The Outskirts are a perfect place for a scrap whether it be from one human to the next or between ghosts, both are common here and not to see one in passing is very uncommon. Hollows in this area are especially numerous.

As Alex entered the area known as the "Outskirts", Alex looked around, trying to find the source of the energy that drew him here. "It's somewhere in this area."

Karlos stepped out onto the barren wastes that were the Outskirts. "Goodness..." he said looking out. He could see at least three hollows from where he stood. They were chasing a few spirits. He wouldn't distract them, nor would he help the spirits. "This place.." He had never wandered out into these parts. He'd made a point to stay out of the area, but now he was here and he didn't like what he saw. A hollow caught them in its gaze, it appeared to be a large lizard like being. It sprinted toward them and Karlos pointed out at the beast. "Drive" he whispered. An iron spear flew forward impaling the hollow through its mask causing it to evaporate. "Pathetic.." Karlos watched the spirit around and knew that this was a prime area for soul collecting, but he was busy. "Bitto.." he said allowed, five of the mosquito like dolls appearing, "Go now and collect, then return to me." The Bitto dispersed, and Karlos looked back at Alex, "Where to?"

"This way." Alex led Karlos over to a ruined apartment building, simply kicking in the door with his good leg. Once inside, Alex found a path underground, lined with electrical wires and light bulbs. "Let there be light." Flicking a switch, the lights throughout the pathway flickered on.

Karlos gazed down the long tunnel. "My my." He didn't really know what to say. "This is odd." he said following Alex down the tunnel. "So what is all this?" He asked. He ran a hand across the wall and it just crumbled. "Random dirt tunnels?"

Taicho "Don't assume that just because I'm nice..." Hayate slowed himself down to the point of a decent jog, then finally he stopped, panting. He had gotten himself so pumped up at Takashi's command that he pushed himself a little too much, and got to the outskirts of town far before he expected to. But he didn't like being there, especially not alone. The place was absolutely dreadful. A total ghost town. Everything was dilapidated and so...depressing. But constantly being on his guard was the worst part. The hollows were out in full force, chasing helpless spirits all about. As much as he disliked it, he was simply glad to not be the center of their attention.
Much to his surprise though, he was not alone. It wasn't anyone that he recognized, but there were definitely more people out there. From what Hayate's keen eyes could deduce, they looked like more humans. But...they weren't though. Just like the man from before, they felt like something more. Well, he wasn't about to approach people he knew little to nothing about. He simply stood there, looking rather awkward as he awaited his comrades to join him. He stood around until the two...whatever they were left, leaving Hayate to sit down on his butt like a child. Hopefully his comrades wouldn't keep him waiting too long... Karlos walked along and looked back as Alex did. "Yes..The fight is diverging now.." Karlos was actually a bit nervous. "Seems, to our misfortune, that the Shinigami are leaving the scene in our direction.." Karlos's pace quickened. "Alex let's go, they don't seem to mind us.." even still Karlos concentrated and dialed down his spiritual pressure in an attempt to have his own pressure covered by a hollows. "Even with two of us, they are a foe I don't wish to encounter..."

"If they plan to take hostile action against us, we'll just explain that we're not here to cause any trouble. It's obvious we're not hurting anyone out here, and if we do fight it'll only be in self-defense, right?" Alex went deeper underground and was dumbfounded by what he found. "Uh Karlos, I think I just found something big." He walked up to a vault containing 100 vials of Human energy, much like the ones gathered by the bito. Picking one up and smelling it, Alex quickly drops the vial. "I didn't know Human energy could go bad."

Vice Captain " Chiaki appeared in the outskirts, and her head jerked to the side. "Dammit!" She said as she walked to the building that the humans were in. She saw one leaving, both seeming very hesitant. "I am so very sorry to bother you, but I am to ask you to leave. I can make it easy for you now, or you can make a run for it. By orders of my superior commander, the battles are being taken here. You are just sitting targets for the hollows." She continued past the second human. She touched the walls of the dirt tunnel. "Besides, the gangs here are terrible. I have had to take a couple souls from here to hell." She stepped forward, closing her eyes. "Your mother calls you forth!" Chiaki extended her hand, and an erruption of green energy entered the walls. The rocks seemed to move at the will of the shinigami. She threw her hand forward, causing the tunnels to expand dramatically, but stayed in tact. "This should get you to the outward area of the outskirts. Return to the city immediately. Populations will keep the hollows at bay as long as we are here." She pulled at the string of her bow, twice, and took the arrow in her hand. "In case of emergency, use these against an enemy. A cut is all you really need, but if you get it all the way in, you will be able to escape. But if you cut yourself..." She stopped herself. "Be careful, and don't be heroes."
She exitted the abandoned building. She walked over to Hayate and said "If you get in my way, I will not stop any of my attacks. If my head is about to get cut off, I give you permission to step in." She said this in as much seriousness as possible. She stepped forward, extending her kumi to the ground, the earth rumbled. Vines and roots of ancient trees ripped through, coming back to life, and enveloped her weapon. Now, her bow was rather a two ended whip. She lashed the bow foward, moving her body around the massive movement. She was now prepared to see what actually showed up for a fight. " ______________________________________

Alex almost had a heart attack when the shinigami showed up, but followed her outside. "Whats going on here? What fight is making its way here?"

After taking a look at the vials Karlos didn't know what to think, then the Shinigami woman appeared and began to speak to them as if they were children. "Is she talking to us?" He asked Alex. Karlos split the strange arrow in his hands and tossed it aside. "Well I suppose that's our cue, let's see what's going on outside.." Karlos walked to the end of the path and saw that there were indeed two Shinigami. "So...your authority says we are to leave?" Karlos asked. "I am under no ones authority." He said waiting for Alex. "However I have no grudge with either of you and will take my leave..."

Alex looked from Karlos back to the shinigami, before sighing and shaking his head slightly. "I'm not under anyone's command either, thus, i'm staying to help any way I can."

Taicho "Don't assume that just because I'm nice..." "Taking your leave would probably be in your best interest. You and your friend. Hollows and Shinigami don't play well. But one thing we aren't needing is more people to look after..." Hayate said, groaning as he got to his feet. Chiaki seemed to be just as fired up as he once was. She even decided to start barking orders at him! That was when he knew he had to speak up. He cleared his throat to get the woman's attention.
"I don't know where you think you are...but as your commanding officer, I'm in charge here. And I was given a specific order by Daichi to protect you. When or when I don't jump in is at my discretion, not yours." Hayate stated sternly, acting like the captain he was supposed to be. "So watch your tone." He added simply, giving a nod for good measure. Hayate was a sweet guy, but it wouldn't be a good idea to assume that he was a pushover. He wanted to fight as badly as she did, but he had orders. Dios Quinta"I have chosen my path, I shall walk down the road of darkness,Just as the Shinigami showed up, Lucas sonidoed in behind them, not moments later. "Here we are" Lucas said as he place the spirit boy down and let go of the girls hand. "It seems I got here before the fight has begun" He thought to himself as he then precedes towards the Shinigami, "Little girl, will you please take the boy and move somewhere safe please. I will tell you when to come out" Lucas ordered as his spiritual pressure rose to its normal state and his demeanor somewhat colder.
"Shinigami, I, unlike my brothers, have not come here to fight you, nor do I want to fight. I simply wish for you to perform a Konso on that boy over there. He wishes to move on and be with his family. If you say yes, I will be forever grateful, but if you say no, then you will just be creating another monster to fight. So please, will you let this child rest in peace?" Lucas asked in a distant, yet warming tone.
