The Gryffindor Common Room ▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅ ▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅ ▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅ – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – "Pah..." Eswen heaved a great sigh, staring longingly at the caged owl in the Common Room. It looked so angry to be in a cage, especially since the weather was so nice today. If it were her pet, she'd let the owl out in a heartbeat... but it wasn't... and Eswen didn't think that whoever's owl it was would appreciate her letting it out. Just do it! She commanded herself, slowly rising from the chair she was sitting at and walking over to the bird cage.
Inside the cage, the owl immediately cowered away from her. "Oh, no! It's okay!" Eswen tried to reassure it. Um... what was it? Um... Oh yeah! Birds like it better when you look at them from the corner of your eye because then you don't look like a predator! Eswen did just that, facing the other way and uncomfortably looking at the owl from the corner of her eye. However, it didn't seem to work much, because the owl was still poised.
"Um... Just hold on a second, please..." She mumbled to the creature, stretching out her hand and working to unlock the bird cage. As she did, the owl lunged for her finger, it's sharp beak breaking the skin of her pinky. "AH!" Eswen exclaimed, though she didn't retract her hand just yet. Instead, she managed to undo the lock. The owl flew out of hte cage as quickly as it could, hitting Eswen's face with one of its wings on t way out, causing Eswen to stumble backwards and finally trip to the ground.
"Oww..." She mumbled, regaining the feeling in her bum. Eswen was so preoccupied that she didn't notice the blood dripping from the pinkie where the owl had bit her.

He was the last boy to leave the dorm, his his pajama tank top hanging over his baggy pants. He hadn't even bothered to attempt to brush his hair, so the matted curls jutted out in every direction. 'I wonder if I could just skip class today...' He thought to himself, his mouth widening for another loud yawn. What would he miss that's so crucial anyway? He can always catch up by looking at someone else's work.
Finally stepping of the bottom off the stairs, Ezra glanced around the common room. Most people had left for breakfast already, it seemed. "Jerks left without me.." He mumbled to himself bitterly. Hearing a voice, Ezra's head quickly turned to the girl fiddling with an owl cage. "Hey, what are you-" He began to call, but the the girl had already let the bird free. With a sigh, Ezra stumbled over to the girl, offering his hand to help her up.
"Eswen, right?" Ezra asked, with the best smile he could pull off in the morning. "I've seen you around... Don't think I've ever stopped to talk to you though." Watching the tentative owl in the room, Ezra frowned slightly. 'You know... I don't even think that's her bird. Pretty sure it belongs to that other person, what's their name..? Ah well, it's their problem now.' He thought with a sigh, turning back to Eswen. Noticing the crimson liquid oozing out of her finger, the boy winced slightly. "Geez, how'd you manage that?" He asked, nodding towards her pinkie. τhε sσηg ● ιs ηστ τhε sαmε ● ωhεη ωε'rεxxx αll ρlαγεd συτ, ● ρlαγεd συτ ●, αll ρlαγεd συτxxxx τhεγ sαιd ● τhε mεmσrιεs ●xxxxx αll ρlαγ συτ, ● fαdε συτ ●, αll ρlαγεd συτxxxxxx

Eswen's eyes felt like they were going to pop out of her sockets when she saw another Gryffindor before her. She had thought the common room was empty! Why else would she have let an owl, which was obviously not hers, out otherwise!? I've been caught in the act! Eswen swallowed hard, trying to wipe the deer-in-the-headlights look from her face. As she did, she could hear her heart pounding in her ears--What would he do? Eswen was terrified at the thought! What if he knew the owl wasn't hers? Would he tattle on her? Oh... I didn't want to cause any problems! The amount of friends she had at Hogwarts was already shakey, something like this wasn't going to help! Not only that, but Eswen already knew most Gryffindors were uncomfortable with her about the house... If they knew she was causing, as they would see it as, Eswen doubted that they would forgive her easily!
"Ah... Ah..." Eswen tried to force the words out of her throat, but it was dry and raspy, cracking uneasily every time. Finally, she realized her plight to explain herself was hopeless and let the boy talk further. Ah--he knows my name... It wasn't much of a surprise, though, she did stand out like a green-thumb... Before Ezra had even said anything, Eswen was aware that he never bothered to talk to her before. Not a lot of people did lately. But they did know her name--at least that was something...
Huh? Manage what? Confused and still a bit dazed, Eswen finally found her finger. A red sort of viscous liquid was dripping from her tingling finger to the flooring. It took her a second to remember what had happened and she blinked a bit to make sure what she saw was real. "Oh... I--the owl... bit me..." She mumbled, suddenly finding her shoes exponentially more interesting that meeting Ezra's eyes.
"Um... if that's all... I'm going to go." Eswen rushed the last part of her sentence, jumping up clumsily and making a dash for the common room door, surprisingly managing not to trip over the other students mess as she did so.

She was so terrified of him, it was kind of cute. Why was she scared though? 'I'm not that intimidating, am I? Oh! It's because I saw her letting the owl out..' He resisted the urge to chuckle. It was ridiculous to even consider Ezra to be the type to 'dob' on anyone, especially his fellow house members. More awake now, Ezra flashed a far more convincing smile - teeth and all! But before he could even assist her with her wound, Eswen was running for the door.
Eyes widening, Ezra let out a groan. "It's too early to be running.." He murmured. He managed to force his legs to jog after the girl. "Wait, Eswen, come back!" He shouted, too tired to properly run after her. "Look, would you just stop? I'm not going to tell on you," He insisted. After a few seconds, Ezra finally woke up. Running faster he easily caught up to the girl, skidding to a halt in front of her. "Sheesh... how do you get so much energy in the morning?" He joked with a smile, hoping she wouldn't run off again. Eswen heard her housemate calling after her but it only caused her legs to run faster. In fact, she was pretty sure she was going to trip on her feet if she moved any faster--and she was dreading going down the stairs! Absolutely dreading it! All she could hope was that she came and went in one piece! However, her physical body was the least of her concerns. Her mind was on overdrive about the situation the boy had caught her in. Oh, the owner will be so angry! Just as she thought this, she heard the sound of the boy's voice behind her saying something about "telling on her." Eswen panicked and sped up.
Oh, Merlin! Oh, Merlin....! Eswen prayed to herself, hoping that the other Gryffindor wouldn't catch up to her. As she did, her head whipped around to glance at the corridor behind her. Huh? He's not there? Eswen blinked, letting her pace lull a bit. It was too dangerous to run at that speed without looking where she was going-- Huh, did I just hear something...? Eswen couldn't be sure, her hair was muffling everything! It was even hard to see too! Strands of her hair were constantly whipping at her eyes. Hair or no hair, Eswen turned her head back forward to take a look.
"Ack!" Eswen yelped and thudded onto her bum, her vision coming in and out. All she knew was that she hit something stolid... quite hard. Her bum ached immediately, and she had to stop herself from whimpering in pain. Ouch... what was-- Clearing her messy hair out of her face, Eswen looked up to see that Ezra was in front of her. "Oh! Are you okay!?" Eswen hurried over to the other boy, ignoring her own tingling body. "You didn't break anything, did you?" Eswen was panicking once again--it seemed like such a horrible sequence of events if he was hurt! All she was trying to do was let an owl stretch its wings! She didn't mean to hurt him!

As a sports player Ezra was quite fit.. perhaps morning runs just weren't his thing. 'Man I'm hungry..' He just began to think of what he'd have for breakfast when Eswen barreled into him. He stumbled back a little, but managed to stand his ground - he was rather solidly built after all. "Ugh.." Shaking his head, he was suddenly overwhelmed by Eswen's questions.
Laughing, he grabbed a hold of the girl's shoulders gently. "Calm down, I'm fine. I'm a tough guy yeah?" He said with a smile that quickly disappeared as he scanned the girl's body, "What about you, are you ok? You ran into me pretty hard - you were running so fast!" His smile resurfaced as he let go of the girl, hoping she'd calm down a bit. "You don't have to be so scared of me.. I'm not going to hurt you. And I'm not going to tell on you!" He insisted as kindly as possible. "What were you doing with that owl anyway? It had surprised Eswen when she found Ezra standing, especially when she had been knocked clean off her feet. In fact, she was so overwhelmed by the entire situation that when Ezra reassured her he was a tough guy, Eswen nodded vehemently in agreement—it had felt like he was made out of rock! Now that some of the shock had subsided, she began to feel an uncomfortable throb in her head but she didn’t say anything about it, in fact, she lied, ”I’m fine,” trying to come off as brisk so the other Gryffindor wouldn’t try to be so personable. However, her ‘brisk’ tone was completely unsuccessful; it was as if a kitten was trying to intimidate a full grown dog. Normally she would try her best to be social in situations like this, but for some reason, the boy unnerved her. Eswen thought it was his smile—it seemed like a façade. Besides! What about this situation was worth smiling in? It seemed completely illogical! Eswen had just run into him going quite fast and he was smiling at her like nothing was happening! However, she tried to hush her suspicions of that smile, though she couldn’t help but still feel that he was being far too kind to her. The Gryffindor boy managed to unnerve her further when he placed his hands firmly on her shoulders; the friendly gesture felt more like he was trying to pin her down than anything.
And no matter how much he tried to reassure her he meant no harm, Eswen was still on guard with him. She had a hard time fathoming as to why he was smiling, no matter how friendly he appeared to be… Perhaps it was because she expected this, but it felt like he was using his smile to play with her. With much weariness, Eswen began to answer his questions, ”It looked… cramped… so I let it out,” her voice gained strength as he spoke. Eswen wasn’t ashamed about what she did, in fact, if given the same chance, she’d do it again. The poor creature had been stuck in that cage for days now! Eswen had noticed it yesterday and the day before that, each time pausing to see if the owner had even bothered to feed the owl. The proof of food alone had delayed her action, she assumed that if someone feeder their pet, it was only a matter of time till they it out. ”It was frankly quite rude of the owner to lock that owl up like that!” She protested, using the opportunity to stand up and brush the dust from her robes. ”It had been in that cage for days! And it hasn’t even been raining!” She announced indignantly, her bottom lip sticking out in her rage.
Perhaps it was because she loved animals so much, or that she labeled Ezra as untrustworthy, or perhaps even that she had bumped her head much harder than she thought, but she was no longer meager and soft spoken. Her words were rather impulsive, and once she realized what she was doing, Eswen immediately clammed up again. ”It-it… was wrong!” She exclaimed, trying to keep her previous enthusiasm alive, though she had some problems. Eswen could feel her face heating up uncomfortably and she began to look away from the other Gryffindor, finding it easier to maintain her position without looking him in the eye.

If he had some sort of skill, it was that he could read people. This girl still seemed so uncomfortable even though he was trying to be as welcoming as possible. He backed away from her slightly, giving Eswen some space so she didn't feel so confined. "I doubt you're 'fine'," He argued, "I heard the thud you made when you hit the ground." Ezra was about to offer to escort her to the hospital wing when she started ranting about owls... or something.
Now, Ezra was not an animal person. In fact he was far from it. He didn't see what was so great about sub-intelligent creatures that need constant attention. The only animals Ezra liked were cats, since they really don't need human attention and are happy enough to be left alone. So Ezra really didn't get what she was talking about when she said it was 'wrong' or 'rude'. 'Oh man... I don't know what she's talking about.' He thought, trying not to look as confused and uninterested as he felt. In the end, he decided just to agree with her.
"You're right, that is so wrong," He agreed, sounding as if he'd had a huge passion for it himself. Ezra was good at lying and manipulating his words and expressions to get people to believe what he was saying. "I think it's cute that you care about owls so much," He complemented - he was actually sincere this time. Eswen's grumpy face made him want to chuckle. "Do you have an owl?" He asked in curiosity. τhε sσηg ● ιs ηστ τhε sαmε ● ωhεη ωε'rεxxx αll ρlαγεd συτ, ● ρlαγεd συτ ●, αll ρlαγεd συτxxxx τhεγ sαιd ● τhε mεmσrιεs ●xxxxx αll ρlαγ συτ, ● fαdε συτ ●, αll ρlαγεd συτxxxxxx

Eswen hadn't the slightest idea that the Gryffindor boy didn't sympathize the owl's cause. In fact, she immediately warmed up to him when he agreed with her--though a voice in her head said he could just be saying that. However, he looked sincere and anyone who liked animals couldn't be that bad so Eswen found herself relaxing. In fact, she even gave a soft smile and nodded at him. However, the expression faded when he said the word "cute." But before Eswen could protest, he inquired if she owned an owl--which immediately wiped all form of happiness from her face. Why did he have to remind her of Alwyn and the countless other pets that had ran away from her? "No..." Eswen mournfully said, "I've had one for a day, though... she's was the prettiest barn owl you'd ever seen... but she... flew away... and never came back..." Eswen mumbled, thoroughly ashamed of her dealings with animals. She hated the fact that animals didn't like her, in fact, she was insanely jealous of anyone was liked by them! Sadly enough, Eswen would probably give close to anything to have an animal like her. For some reason or another, her father hypothesized that it was because of her blood, creatures never seemed to fancy her much. In fact, they tended to run on sight of her, which was quite a shame considering that Eswen adored them so much.
Thinking of Alwyn made her think of the countless other pets that had run away from her. The first was her cat, Skuld, who had scratched and cried at the door for days before Eswen finally gave in and let her outside. The kitty was gone in a blink of an eye. Then, there was Gertrude, the toad, who had somehow managed to break loose from her cage. They couldn't find her for days, even with spells, and when they did, she was all dehydrated, stiff, and thoroughly dead. Then, finally, there was Alwyn, the owl the other Gryffindor had reminded her of. Her father had given the bird to her as a gift and because owls were known to be especially loyal--however, the first time Eswen went to send a letter, Alwyn never bothered to return, though she did deliver the letter.
Heaving a sigh, Eswen returned to the other Gryffindor boy, now thoroughly depressed with herself. "Do you?" She inquired, just to be polite, though, in any other mood, Eswen would've been asking it quite ecstatically. When she had finished talking, Eswen began to notice that her headache was lessening in intensity and she was quite thankful. This way, the boy wouldn't have to drag her to the infirmary--which he seemed quite ready to do--"Oh, my... I'm sorry, I don't know your name!" Eswen realized, quite appalled with her manners. Ever since she had first seen him, she had been referring to the other Gryffindor as either "the boy," "the Gryffindor boy,"or "the other Gryffindor." "Um, I think you know this, but I'm Eswen Grimm... and you are?"

'She should be easier to manage now.' He thought happily. Ezra wasn't expecting such an emotional answer from Eswen, however. Her mood seemed to immediately drop. "Oh... I'm so sorry to hear that," He said sincerely, frowning. He didn't like to see the girl sad - though he wasn't sure why it bothered him so much.
When Eswen asked if he had an owl, Ezra bit his lip worriedly. Should he lie? She was already so sad, he was worried that if he said he'd never owned an animal - when he recently said he loved them - she would get upset with him again. Finally he decided that lying might be best in this situation. "Oh, I'm afraid not. I've always wanted one, or maybe a cat, but my parents don't like pets," He said, as if it was completely factual. It was quite far from the truth - Ezra's parents had both often offered to buy him a companion but he was never interested. Eswen didn't have to know that, though.
Mentioning introductions, Ezra quickly gained confidence. "The name's Ezra," He said happily, flashing her one of his dynamite smiles, "But feel free to call me Ez, all my friends do." Eswen was still in a bad mood, so the Gryffindor boy tried to think of a way to cheer her up. "Hey, want to go grab some breakfast?" He offered, debating whether to clasp he shoulder in a friendly manner. 'It looks like her distrust in me is a ticking time bomb... better not provoke her.' Swiftly, Ezra decided to just show his compassion through a small smile. τhε sσηg ● ιs ηστ τhε sαmε ● ωhεη ωε'rεxxx αll ρlαγεd συτ, ● ρlαγεd συτ ●, αll ρlαγεd συτxxxx τhεγ sαιd ● τhε mεmσrιεs ●xxxxx αll ρlαγ συτ, ● fαdε συτ ●, αll ρlαγεd συτxxxxxx

Eswen nodded sympathetically when Ezra explained that his parents didn't like pets. How sad! Eswen thought, even in her current self-absorbed depression, the thought of parents not wanting a kid to get a pet was just horrible! At least her father was open to getting her animals--though recently, he's been weary about it just because they all ran away. But this wasn't because he thought he was wasting money, it was just because Eswen always felt so miserable after an animal ran away and he hated to see her moping around like that. It had been over a year since he brought Alwyn home and that seemed like the last attempt to get her a pet. "I'm sorry," Eswen sincerely said, her eyes looking up at Ezra apologetically. In fact, she felt bad that she mentioned it! He didn't seem too mournful about it, though, but Eswen knew that he must feel some remorse about the subject if he always wanted a pet. Thus, she didn't press the subject any further.
And she felt like she was correct to do so, especially when Ezra seemed so thankful to change topic. His mood rebounded instantly when she asked his name and Eswen couldn't help but feel horribly guilty for mentioning his pets in the first place. "Alright, Ez." Eswen replied, being much kinder to him that she normally would be. In any other situation, she would've refused flat out to use nicknames--they were so weird sometime! "And, um... you can call me Essie, if you'd like." Eswen added with a blush. It was something her father always called her and Eswen loathed it but seeing as she made Ezra sad earlier, she was trying her best to continue to rebound his mood. She was reassured by his smile but she couldn't help but think they were still slightly off somehow.
"Oh, yes!" Eswen exclaimed, thankful for the subject change. She gently returned his smile, still feeling quite heinous for their conversation about pets earlier. "Let's go." Eswen softly clasped his hand and began leading him down the stairs. She was still feeling regretful of being so insensitive earlier, so Eswen was making a point to be as gentle with him as possible. However, even with that mindset, she couldn't help but be horribly embarrassed by taking his hand.
Hand still in hand, she brought out of the Gryffindor Common Room and began walking towards the Main Hall. The smell of food was pretty strong in the morning, so it wasn't that hard to figure out which way to go, even with the changing staircases. Before they made it there, however, she saw another group of first year Gryffindors heading towards them. AH! Eswen felt panic swelling inside her. She loosened her hand on his instantly. Would it be considered weird that they were holding hands? The last thing Eswen wanted was for Ezra to be made fun of! She turned to look at his face, trying to see what he was thinking. "Um..." Eswen tried to start, but it felt horribly embarrassing to even mention their linked hands. In the meantime, the Gryffindors were getting closer.

'Gah, she is responding so severely to this lie..' He thought miserably. But it seemed that she also was keen on the change of subject, so Ezra hoped that she wouldn't think about his 'adoration' for animals any further. Still he welcomed the change in attitude that came with her sympathy. Only minutes earlier Eswen seemed to loathe Ezra with a passion, but here she was showing him compassion!
Hearing the girl use his nickname Ezra resisted the urge to chuckle. 'Ahhh! So cute!' He thought with a grin. 'Essie? Ha! That is adorable.' Ezra smiled and nodded. "Can do, Essie," He said in a velvety voice with a wink. He wasn't sure if this would make the girl feel uncomfortable but Ezra knew that he enjoyed playing with Eswen like that.
If Ezra was surprised that Eswen agreed to accompany him to the main hall, he nearly had a heart attack when she grabbed his hand. Eyes widening he looked down at her in shock. This was... very unexpected from the timid girl. 'M-maybe she doesn't think of holding hands the same way I do..' He thought, a sly smile creeping onto his face. He led her happily trying not to grin like a lunatic. Spotting the group ahead, his smile turned to a smirk. Ezra felt Eswen's hand loosen but he simply tightened his grip. He was doing this both for himself and Eswen. After all, Ezra was already quite popular among the first years, whereas Eswen was... less so. If their acquaintances saw the two affiliating with each other, her popularity would sky rocket. τhε sσηg ● ιs ηστ τhε sαmε ● ωhεη ωε'rεxxx αll ρlαγεd συτ, ● ρlαγεd συτ ●, αll ρlαγεd συτxxxx τhεγ sαιd ● τhε mεmσrιεs ●xxxxx αll ρlαγ συτ, ● fαdε συτ ●, αll ρlαγεd συτxxxxxx

If Eswen had noticed Ezra's wink earlier, she would've dropped his hand in a heart-beat, but she hadn't so she just thought that his tone was rather strange--perhaps a voice crack?--and thought nothing more of it. Even though Ezra noticed the group of Gryffindors heading towards them, he didn't seem fazed by it. In fact, he just tightened his hand around hers to make up for her loosened grip. Well... I suppose it's fine if he's okay with it... Eswen thought to herself, her stomach tightening uncomfortably with each step closer to the passing group. Maybe he's just trying to suppress his emotions! Eswen realized, completely horrified. Maybe he didn't want to let go of her hand because he didn't want to face the other kids in his current state? Oh no, I definitely shouldn't have mentioned the owl... Eswen squeezed Ezra's hand reassuringly and forced herself to man-up to the situation in front of her so he wouldn't have to.
When the group of Gryffindors spotted them, Eswen swore she saw one of their months drop. "Whoa! Since when did you two--?!" One exclaimed, their eyes jumping back and forth between Ezra and Eswen before landing on their joined hands. "Oh, Ez! So that's why you were late, you took the opportunity to snog!" Another announced and the whole group laughed. Snog? Eswen stared at the group, practically gawking at them. What had made them think that? It seemed like such a drastic jump--they were just holding hands! There was nothing romantic about that, no matter how awkward it was! Eswen remembered kids in her prep-school holding hands all the time.
But obviously, taking from their reactions, holding hands wasn't normal at all. Eswen tried her best to shake his grip, feeling utterly embarrassed. "But why with her?" One of the Gryffindor girls snapped with much hostility. Eswen felt her face heat up with shame and she looked down at her shoes. Finally, she tugged on Ezra's sleeve softly with her free hand.
"C-can we go?" She inquired, already inching closer to the Main Hall and the grand aroma drifting from it. After a few seconds more of the Gryffindor group gawking at them, Eswen tightened her grip on Ezra's hand and forcefully pulled him away, completely fed up with what the situation had become.

He nodded with a shrug. "Hey, don't look so surprised!" He exclaimed, his charisma shining through, "This girlie is pretty fun when you get to know her.." He released her hand and instead wrapped his arm around her waist. "Back off though, she's mine," He said to the boys in the group with a wink.
Realizing that his movements could offend Eswen he casually whispered into her ear, "I'm sorry, just go along with it. I'll explain later." Still looking at the group, he smirked slyly. "That so isn't fair Ez!" One of the boys exclaimed. "You've been here how long and you already snagged a girl?" Ezra shrugged with a laugh. "Some of us are born with good looks," He explained. "Anyway, if you don't mind us, we're grabbing some breakfast... See you around, gents, ladies.." He laughed, finally obliging to Eswen's wishes to leave.
As soon as they were out of view, Ezra's hand moved to her's once more. "I'm sorry about that Essie," He said sincerely. "But I have a good reason, really!" He pleaded, "Two good things will come of that, I promise. Firstly, you will now be pretty popular girl! At least you won't be teased or anything. Secondly, I won't be bugged by those chicks anymore." As much as he loved the attention Ezra was sort of sick of all those giggles and winks. They were still young, he knew, but the immaturity was killing him. τhε sσηg ● ιs ηστ τhε sαmε ● ωhεη ωε'rεxxx αll ρlαγεd συτ, ● ρlαγεd συτ ●, αll ρlαγεd συτxxxx τhεγ sαιd ● τhε mεmσrιεs ●xxxxx αll ρlαγ συτ, ● fαdε συτ ●, αll ρlαγεd συτxxxxxx

Horror. The absolute horror! From the moment Ezra snuck his arm around her waist, Eswen was petrified. She watched the conversation go around her yet no one bothered to talk to her. Even Ezra. They were all absorbed in their little world and after taking a glance at the boy next to her, Eswen couldn't help but feel like an accessory on Ezra's hip. It made her feel sick to her stomach. Why was it like this? It was like he had some strange joke with them all, he was smirking, laughing, grinning... She wanted to push him off, but she didn't because she didn't understand the situation. Everything they did made her feel like she was missing a key piece to this all and they were all laughing at her ignorance, especially Ezra. He seemed fine and in control, it wasn't as if he was depressed or scared at all. Eswen was beginning to think she had misunderstood the whole situation. Ezra didn't seem like the kid she had met earlier and perhaps she was oblivious to what he was like to begin with.
Even they left the group of Gryffindors, Eswen still felt nauseous. It only got worse when Ezra started talking, grabbing her hand again as he did. She was thankful to have his hand of her waist, but she wasn't completely welcoming to hold his hand again. Oh... he'll probably have a good reason... Eswen reassured herself, patiently waiting his explanation to what had just happened--Eswen was still at a complete loss.
As he explained, a lump formed in Eswen's throat. What? When he was finished, she was absolutely fuming. "Ezra, that was c-cruel of you..." Eswen's voice soft. What he had done sincerely bothered her. Eswen knew she hardly understood anything when it came to people and it felt like Ezra just took advantage of that fact! He had used her as a toy basically! And even though he intentionally used her, he wanted her to forgive and laugh about it? Eswen couldn't do it. She just couldn't do it. Her eyes narrowed at him and she let go of his hand and let it slip out from his before turning around and walking into the Main Hall by herself, leaving him standing in the hallway. Eswen wanted nothing to do with manipulative people like him.
