Beloved Werewolf

Tomoko had slept like the dead upon the return to Amityville. Certainly she'd been up when she had been up, she'd been up, but at night she hadn't even had the energy to dream. She'd just crawl into her bed, curl up into as small of a ball as she could, hugging her precious possession to her chest. Dreams of nothing were the best she could come up with after the horrible images of Junko crushed under a stalactite, Seiji falling, Elaphe falling, and people being sliced into pieces.

The boat seemed tame after how the island had been.

It was on the fourth night of being back that the real memories had started to seep into her sleeping state, having dozed somewhat peacefully for a short amount of time, before the first real 'vivid' dream had kicked in. She'd been back in the school, debris was falling everywhere. It was a step through space, it felt, before they were back in the Last Crusade, forgetting to kneel before god (or Jack, or whoever it was. Tomoko didn't know the movie) with blades coming out of ******** nowhere and slicing through all of them like they were warm butter.

A head rolled past her feet and after a mere glance down at it, she woke, looking around her room paranoidly. Mononoke lifted his head to look at her, before yawning and curling back into a sleeping state, the Kitsune getting up out of bed and, leaving her ball of stars carefully tucked into her sheets like an egg in a nest, before slipping out into the hall. She needed to check on something.

Up a flight of stairs, Tomoko kept one hand on the wall, squinting at the boards there were on some of the doors to see if she could read the Roman Alphabet worth a flying crap. She could, fortunately, and eventually she was able to recognize the door she was looking for (Thank goodness the doors had character in this dorm), fanangling with the handle for a moment.

Whether the door had been open already or Tomoko had magical powers of breaking into people's rooms without breaking door handles, the kitsune was in (she may have been part ninja!) after a moment, moving as quietly as she could to her fellow demon's bed, crouching down next to it to stare at the sleeping sloth-boy.

He was sleeping, yes?

She wasn't sure after a moment of questioning it, grabbing one of his arms to try and find a pulse from it, making an intense face, before moving to jab at his jawline with her fingers for another check. Unfortunately, nobody had ever told Tomoko her ability to find a pulse was very questionable and she soon began to panic.

"Barth, Barth, Barth. Barthwakeup.Barrthh;;;;;" she whined, ears drooping, grabbing his shoulders in an attempt to shake him awake. She'd cross the 'so why are you in my room' bridge once she was sure he was alive.

Barth did not wake up.

In spite of the shaking, he seemed very determined to stay asleep.

His door had been unlocked, which was probably not the safest way to manage one's door, but Barth's capacity for making good survival choices was not high. His ability to dodge things falling from ceilings, however, was exceptional. And had kept him (along with Tomoko and another very few stragglers) safe to limp right into one life-threatening situation after another.

Until he had finally limped back to the school, in bed, where he was apparently planning on staying.

........................

There was no emote strong enough for the look of mixed horror, concern, and OH EM GEE that Tomoko expressed when the Sloth demon didn't move, shaking him a few more times for emphasis, making a rather keening-whine before she lifted one arm to duck and put one of her large ears to his chest.

........

That sounded like a pulse! Or something really close to one. On a scale from 1 to pulse, it rated up rather pulse-i-ly. But none the less, she now had a new concern. Settling onto her elbows and laying on her stomach, the kitsune gave the sloth demon a very long stare of concern.

"Baaarrrthhh. Are you okaayyyy?" she asked, ears drooping pathetically as she reached out to again poke at his face. She sort of envied his ability to sleep if that was what he was doing. The alternative was that he'd been cursed to sleep for 100 years or until woken by the kiss of a prince.....

She took a moment to check for any spinning wheels in the room... a feat that she'd be able to see anything IN the room in the dark. Though she seemed to realize after a moment that there was no logical reason for him to HAVE such a thing. Though it was still logical for her to wonder if he was cursed.
