There was a perfectly logical reason why Ben chose his home to be by the sea. It wasn't to feed his hopeless romantic soul, though it secretly does, but rather, Ben loved beaches and water. He loved to jog in the warm sand or swim in the cool ocean waters. Not only that but after a taxing day, it's a peaceful way to end the day.
Ben woke like he did most mornings. He didn't really rely on alarms. The baker preferred to wake via sun, ocean waves crashing into the sand, and the cry of sea birds. With a stifled yawn and stretch, Ben scratched the back of his head before stumbling out of his bed and to the windows which lead to a balcony.
He frowned a little at the clouds. No swim today, but a light jog was still in order. Ben quickly shucked his pajama pants and pulled on some shorts. Best way to wake up in the morning was to do some exercising. It felt like the best way to start the day. After lacing up his tennis shoes that would undoubtedly be filled with sand by his return home. Ben set out.
Twenty minutes later, Ben entered his house, flushed, sweating, and slightly panting from his vigorous run. His eyes glanced at the clock and with a small huff, the baker moved quickly to shower and dress for the day. It wasn't like he had a set time to be at work, but the earlier he got there the better.
Ben was finally set for the day forty-five minutes later. After slipping into his favorite shoes, he headed out for the cafe, hoping to get some things done before the morning rush.
