What do you think of the event? Do you find it amusing or are you tired of it already? Why do you think they went with cats?

Well, first thing's first: Tosh would be proud. It's nice having an April Fool's Day item that isn't explosive for once. The fact that one item is a pair of peed-in pants and the other is an animation that makes you puke (see my current avi) only makes it that much more amusing for me.
I have my suspicions about it being cats, though, and it's directly correlated with the Cats vs. Dogs event held earlier this year. If memory serves me correctly, cats won, and I believe that they would have gone with dogs instead had the polls turned out the other way around.

I thought it was pretty funny. Some of the avatars I've seen with the cat heads on them were great. I don't see myself getting much use out of the items though. I can't see why they went with cats but I'm guessing the facebook lookalike meowbook is poking fun at all the complaints they get about trying to make gaia look more like facebook. Also you can get the third item Cat Faces by playing Dumpster Dive.

I'm surprised I didn't see anyone posting about finding the Cat Faces item in Dumpster Dive. gonk Then again, at the price they're going for in the MP, maybe it really isn't that much of a surprise after all.
I really enjoy seeing all the funny avatars people make with these realistic cat heads.

3nodding They were only valuable for a very short time. They tanked really fast. They're still listed for a million in the MP (at the time of writing this). Hell, there's even two people trying to sell theirs for 24 and 25 million.
Earlier, it seemed like they had increased the rate people were finding them in dumpster dive, but there are so many people taking out of it and not putting back in that it takes forever to build it back up to 100%.

You might want to wait, or list it for a million and give it a few days. It's been fluctuating quite a bit. On the other hand there's always the chance that they'll give in to some of the Site Feedback threads and up the chances on getting it.

I loved the event, I love cats though so maybe that had something to do with it. =]
I like April Fools on Gaia, it's just simple and fun! heart
Although I am pretty disappointed I didn't get the Cat Faces item. D:

I am officially tired of this event. My page purred at me while it was loading and startled me. I thought I had accidentally let one of my parents cats in the house and spent a good 5 minutes looking for it before it dawned on me that it was just the computer. >.<;
