Amjad was lazying about his father and mother's den quietly. Unlike many Pesar his age, he was still at home and had not found himself a Banu or Beybanu. No one was speaking to him, and although he had an interest in one particular Banu (one who so long ago had kicked him so hard in the stomach her cried), he was hesitant to try and form any sort of relationship with her. Her father was a Vizier. He was someone of importance, and although his harem was large and there were many daughters to spare, he could still be faced with a no.

He sighed and rubbed his head against the loose dusty, dirt. If he was nice and dirty his mother would clean him, and that always made him feel much better. Looking about for her, he drooped his ears and pouted before gearing himself up with a, "Mooooommmmmm."

Kinaya had been stretching out and resting, enjoying the weather when her sun's call reached her. The pink lioness's eyes turned to the dirty little fluffball of a son and she smiled brightly, leaning over to nuzzle him some. "Silly Amjad, have you been getting messy again?" she teased, pulling the Pesar over to her to get him somewhat cleaned up.

Being young for a mother of adolescents, Kinaya was still getting used to the idea of her first litter growing up and moving away. She was more than happy for Amjad to stay around and want to get groomed and cuddled and mothered still. She had no idea what she'd do when all her little ones were grown and out on their own - that would be lonely, after having gotten so used to them!

"Only a little..." He said, giving his mother his most charming smile, as she cleaned him up a bit. Many of his sisters were already spoken for, and a couple of their Pads had come forward to ask for them, something he had been a little wary about. His father had been even warier and anytime one came to him, asking permission, he could see the blacks of Kame's eyes grow darker as if doom and gloom was settling upon his household.

"Do all my sisters have Pads picked out?" He asked, peeking up at his mother as she groomed him lightly. He was unawares of which sister had a Pad and which were holding out. He knew his father would not give away any of his daughters unless they had already come to him to tell them of their happiness in the Pad interested in them. A couple had come out of nowhere to ask for a sister of his, and she was not very pleased with any of them. It was funny to watch because when his father would ask them what she said and they'd look at him dumbfounded. Silly Pads.

Kinaya smiled and groomed her little boy, helping him get his mane straightened out and snuggling him some. "Not all of them. Dafina's been being very difficult with the pesars." Kinaya explained, playing with his bangs a little with a paw. "Why, are you worried that you don't yet have a banu?" she inquired, teasing her baby a bit while she decided if his mane looked nice that way or not.

"Dafina is always being difficult," He joked, though he knew if his sister was being difficult she had a reason to be. None of Kame's children misbehaved intentionally and if they were that means something was going on that all needed to be aware of. "Maybe she's holding out for someone..."

Amjad gave his mother an awkward smile when she brought up him having yet to choose a Banu or go looking for a Banu, "Honestly.... I have someone in mind, but... I don't know how receptive things will be. We don't have to best history."

He still remembers his first encounter with Nasrin, and although he had been working on lately to at least be cordial with her so bygones could be bygones, he hadn't expected himself to become interested in her and he was uncertain if the feelings were reciprocated. Especially considering she had so many choices at her disposal.

"Well of course. She wants the best because Daddy has taught her she deserves it, just like the rest of you do." Kinaya explained, seemingly fine with her children being a little stuck up and picky - not that she saw it that way. "She may have someone or she may have decidedly not found someone yet. Either way, you aren't the only single one still."

"Oh? What kind of history do you have?" the little lioness asked, grooming the back of her son's ear a bit where it looked like some mud had caked on.

Ehhhhhhh. He didn't like the idea of explaining it, since he already felt bad about it in the past. When him and Nasrin first met he was trying to play with her with his little cub antic, and it resulted in running to Kinaya crying his little eyes out and telling her all about the mean girl. No doubt his mother would find it amusing that the same mean girl was who he had his eye on for some unknown reason.

"We had a disagreement way back in the day," He muttered quietly, "She comes from a well known harem, though. Vizier Tariq'r'ad. It's one of his duaghters."

At first Amjad thought it would be impossible to get the Vizier to agree to giving him Nasrin, and now he thought it would simply be difficult. He was a Vizier and so he would want to be extra picky, but at the same time he was the Vizier with the biggest harem and the most daughters. He was probably overrun with them, many of who he noticed were adult.

Kinaya giggled a little at this, "Ohho, one of the little cubbins you had trouble with when you were smaller, I take it?" she teased, patting him softly and smiling. Both Amjad and Dafina had had a little trouble getting along with others when they were smaller and now that they were grown, it was quite amusing seeing them trying to relate to the ones they'd had arguments or fights with as cubs.

"Are you going to try to talk to the Vizier then?"

"I'm gonna try," Amjad said, his ears pinning back to his head for a moment with a shy look. Nasrin's father intimidated him. Not because the male was a Vizier, but because of his reputation for physically hitting his Banu. If he was capable of beating a female, than he was fully capable of beating a male and no amount of Pride rule was going to sway Amjad's mind that he wouldn't try.

"I'm just not sure how I'm going to approach him, you know? I mean... I can't ask Dad about that sort of thing," He said, "You and Tai came into the pride with him willingly."

Kinny hadn't been listening to rumors and had heard nothing about this Vizier, but she did see the look on her son's face and licked his cheek, smiling a bit. "Don't worry, little one. You'll be okay." she told him with a big smile, "I'm sure your father's figured out at least something - he's been discussing mates for his little girls after all and he might know the best way to talk to another grownup male in the pride."

Amjad made a face and nodded to his mother. She was right. His father had been dealing with Pesars and Pads coming to the den and asking him to take his daughters on as mates. If there was anyone who knew how a father would want to be asked or addressed in regards to his daughters, it would be his own father. He sighed, and gave his mother a lick on her face before getting up.

"You're right. Dad probably knows what I should do... I'm gonna go ask him before I forget," He said, giving his mother a nuzzle before he wandered off to go find his father, "Thanks Mommy."
