Hello this will be the thread in which the black shadows will get to know eachother and hopefully come together as a cohesive group. Otherwise it just won't work. ^_^ Thus, We'll pick up at the point that the four newest recruits will be brought back to the Playground along with the NPCs and Telnith and Delfian. Ophidion will not be present in person, because he stayed behind after the battle, with Hope, And Kaiden as well is on "special assignment," though he doesn't realize it.
To clarify, the group would be brought in surrounded by the faceless members of the Black shadows, faceless due to the style of the Black shadow's uniform. At first they would normally be loosely bound with their wrists behind their backs with a frail rope, this will have been explained as a gesture of faith, required before any prospective recruits be brought to the Plaground for training. The group would be teleported into the massive central chamber where, the normal boobytrap will have already been disarmed in preparation. The central chamber lies deep in the heart of the catacombs which the Shadows call home. A massive domed room whose curved walls are covered with intricate carvings of warriors in battle, and below the semi-transparent floor, lies an immense glowing mass of crystal which spkies up through the floor in some places. The center of the chamber lies the landing platform, where a central platform is raised from the otherwise flat ground, by a series of layered steps, like the rings of a tree when viewing the platforms from above.

Duke was quiet as he walked with the faceless men or women to secet location. he couldent tell were he was he was blind folded, but because of his training he could feel the presence of some one on each side him and a group of people around him. He remained quiet as he was led by the group. he wondered were Rhia and korbain were.He was calm, he thought he knew what he was getting himself into.

Rhia let her eyes fall throughout the dank cave. She began to flex her arms and hands, beginning to feel a little on edge. She hated quiet, things were not revealed as quickly for her this way. Talk often led to information. She prided herself on knowing more than others. After a moment of further silence, she raised her voice to have something, anything to start a conversation.

"
Anyone got water?"

╘╡"And you were having such a good day."╞╛

Delfian was in a good mood. The telepath had just seen to the annihilation of the third town on the list of decimation for this conquest, meaning a great big bonus would be headed toward the Black Shadow's treasury. Not only did the city get wiped out, but the tainted water would eliminate nearly every small settlement north east and west of it's location. Everything had gone well to plan, and on top of that, four new bodies to the had joined the organization. Delfian meandered along the forest path with a listful grace unencumbered despite the body which had been hefted over his shoulder, This was one of the new recruits which Delfian had found personally on his way out of Linkton, the man bore a stark white mask over his face, and though he seemed uninjured hung loosely over Delfian's shoulder.
After a few dozen yards of aimless wandering the euphoria of destruction and carnage began to wane, and Delfian's mind shifted gently to the task at hand. Gather the Shadows. And with the soft tearing "Fppt" which always accompanied the tuft of smoke Delfian disappeared, to reappear hundreds of feet away, where the group had been walking. Wordlessly the like-garbed men exchanged cold glares, around the bound recruits. With a light shift, Delfian lowered the unconscious man from his shoulder into the waiting arms of another Shadow. In total, this group comprised of around Seven people Without a spoken word they all spoke to each other for a short time, when everyone had been on the same page, Delfian focused and soon after everyone prepared, a louder "FPPT" echoed though the empty forested area. Soon the scent of damp leaves was replaced with old dust and the coppery smell of stone. They had arrived in the Playground , deep beneath the frozen heart of the Ellian Mountains.
Without warning the sudden change in temperature, air pressure, and humidity might shock those weak to such a change. It was normal after the first time. However, Usually only one in three reacted in this manner, Normally any other side effects would be a mild Nausea. Having arrived, The first steps of greeting and introductions would be taken care of. With the snap of his fingers, Delfian, positioned with a carefree authority at the bottom of the layered platform steps, behind him the only corridor which lead from this room. As soon as the sharp sound struck out, the bonds and blindfolds which held the four previously were almost instantaneously oliterated by unknown means. This unveiled the surroundings, Delfian His Two Shadows and the four recruits all together basked in the soft purple light of the central chamber. When he was certain that the shock of their arrival had waned mildly enough, choosing to, for the time being ignore the request for water as though it had not been asked.
"Welcome to your new home. Rhia Tinebris. Kalphias Korbain. Duke Facio. And Lace Rinwald Aniye." With this sturdy, disconnected voice two odd things might have stood out. One, though clearly coming from the man with gray skin, who stood while the other two shadows knelt in respect, the man's mouth remained motionless. Two, He turned and made eye contact with each person in turn with their names despite the fact he clearly had never been told or had asked. "My name is Delfian, sometimes referred to as the Bloodletter. I'm going to tell you this now." He pulled the mask which normally veiled his face from public view revealing his stern chisled features as well as the blatant scar across his neck which Marked the true Delfian, to those who know him. "There is nothing you can hide from me. With that having been said, You are welcome in every corner of this new home, but for the first few weeks I suggest you travel with an escort. Inside this place, navigation can be... tricky." Delfian in fact was sugar coating the fact that every corridor, even in this central area of the complex had been littered with deathtraps and dangerous creatures which, if left to themselves would probably mean the death of any unaccustomed to their navigation. This served two purposes, Constant training in stealth and agility, with the punishment for setting one of these traps off being that they would have to reset them afterwards. As well, It kept would be invaders distracted, if not deterred entirely. It was at this point Delfian's first impressions would be made, meanwhile deep within the complex a call rang out to the young girl Telnith. "If you'd be so kind to come greet our guests I would be quite obliged." His voice warm and inviting, though clearly still belonging to the same man who had bought her contract, it was clear that with her agreement, Delfian would be able to transport her to the central room. He left this to her discretion. For all his grandiose posturings, Delfian did not and would not force loyalty.

Telnith | Dareis | Gallagher

"If you'd be so kind to come greet our guests I would be quite obliged."

Telnith's eyes flashed open, that deep familiar voice resounding within her head. By instinct, the fear of a guard towering behind her when she and another slave had been caught not working, she whirled around with the hammock, quite expecting to see the veiled Telepath standing behind her with those dead eyes. He's not. Perhaps she should have been expecting that, but she certainly hadn't and hoped she wouldn't ever grow used to it lest she let her guard down.

Telnith's first clear thought after that, the gangly girl untangling herself from the hammock she had managed to twist herself into from her sharp movements, was to reject it. Why should she greet his guests? He had certainly done her no favors. Then again neither had the patrons at Elexair's pub, and yet she still was forced to serve them. He bought my contract too. She thought grimly, head sagging forward causing her haggard hard to fall forward and cover her face and it's expression of dismay. Well, she wouldn't live long if she went defying him at every turn. That and...

The Caretaker. What he had said to her of his, their, master still hung heavily in her mind. The Caretaker had claimed him to be their --they being the odd puppets that worked earnestly throughout the Playground-- savior, that he had saved them. It seemed a little hard for her to believe that such a man as he could have done anything good, and considering he had them working for him she wondered just, in what way, he had saved them. I'll have to find out soon enough... She thought, hoping that her thoughts were veiled from his. Perhaps had her father taught her a little more on how to use their inborn powers she might have been able to block him out. A Telepath though she was, by race, she had never had to worry about shielding her thoughts from others so maybe that was why they had been so lax in her lessons. I truly regret that now. She thought, taking a deep breath.

She clamored out of the hammock and checked herself up and down to make sure she was presentable for his guests, whoever they were. Hair unkempt, hanging in tangled locks around her face, it was only parted enough to allow her to see with her eyes, though she had learned to use her mind to navigate around when her vision was obscured. She wore a simple tan dress, the hems ragged and frayed from lack of care and many noticeable stains covering it, the most recent, and most prominent one, but the large blood stain on her back where the Stilrak had slashed the flesh of her back. Bandages were wrapped around her hands and feet, and the leather boots she wore were so old and worn it was amazing that they had not fallen apart already. With her poor appearance there would likely be no man Delfian could present her to whom would take interest in her. In fact the only thing that might have looked even the least bit interesting would be her unnaturally blue eyes and the pendant that laid against her chest that matched the color of her eyes perfectly, even omitting a dim glow. This she slipped beneath the fabric of her dress, tucking the cord that held it around her neck away so it would look as if she had no accessories to speak of.

She nodded, thinking that she looked sorry enough to not attract any of the attention than she wanted. Though she had been forced to work in the pub, she certainly had avoided being taken upstairs to the rooms with her patrons, something she had managed to do by maintaining as low an appearance as possible. Hopefully this trick would remain true here.
"I... understand." She finally replied, projecting her own voice. She hoped he would not expect her to teleport in an instant because she was certainly in no condition to do so. Her encounter with the Stilrak had left it's mark on her, the wound still throbbing and hot, the medicine not helping much. Not only that but she was still quite exhausted. She had managed to teleport outside her usual distance once, by luck, and doubted she would be able to pull off the same feat twice in her condition. "I shall hurry."

Duke felt a sudden change in the atmospher. It did not really bother him much but he did wonder how this could happend with just all of a sudden. soon after there was a snaping sound and the blindfolds and bonds came off and he could finally see were they were. The room they were in was massive and had a dark pupleish glow. Duke couldn't help but to smile, he could tell already he could get comfortable easily in this place.
As soon as duke heard his name being called he turned his attention to the man who said it and nodded with a smirk to show he was paying attation and as a sign of respect. He normally wouldn't give his respect so quick, but considering the chance he was getting from Delfian he was more then happy to respect him . Duke heard the names of rhea and korbain also being said and was a bit releved they were with him.
He kept still and looked at Delfian and the other two members who's faces he could not see. Delfian soon took his masked off to show his face, but as duke looked all that drew his attention was his scar. He couldn't help but to wonder were hit cam from and how he got it. he did not say anything in case he was soposed to keep quiet and wait. Delfian called to someone who was away at the moment, duke patiently waited many thoughts streaming threw his head to wonder who it could be...

TRAFALGAR~/~/~/~FAUST

Hell will welcome you with open arms

Nothing. Darkness. Two words that could be used to describe what the young man was seeing at the moment. A thick black cloth was draped over his eyes, thus explaining the lack of vision. The sound of his chain, no, his shackles, rattling echoed in the vicinity. A cavern he concluded, basing his theory off the echo and the gradual decrease in temperature.

Trafalgar had no idea where it was that he was being shipped to, but whoever it was that was holding onto the end of his shackles sure did. He had already seemed to turn left and right so many times that he couldn’t even keep his bearing straight anymore. It might have been the lack of sight, but wherever he was at the moment, the place seemed like a labyrinth. ”Where are you taking me? he tried asking his guide, but to no answer. It was almost as if he was being guided by a shadow. You know somebody is there, you know they are real, but you can’t see them.

After a few more minutes, which seemed like hours to him, he was stopped. Not known to him, the person who was guiding him had bowed politely and taken their leave of the room. Trafalgar was at the base of the stairs of the central chamber. He had just missed the Bloodletter’s opening introduction, and all was silent in the room. He was the only one still bound and blindfolded.

{{Ooc://Ok........I'm just going to put Eko in this more or less to work on talking with people and getting in the mood for my character. It's more or less to see how he can work with others but in the end I will be retracting him from this thread, thus replacing him with an NPC..so I will definatly be learning from this. }}

Eko was good with this.......the silence. Darkness also didn't bother him as well for it more or less made him at peace. As long as the darkness didn't bring up memories of himself.......that was just painful. The blindfold over him really wasn't concerning....a trust factor he assumed. The area was or should have been kind of chilly, considering it was a cavern. Eko could feel the drop IN the temperature but his internal body heat was way beyond the normal humans, making it kind of like a small breeze. Another hint was how when his wings shuffled, which were tied around his back as well as shackles on his hands and large heavy bags of his harpoons which were tied, a soft echo[IRONY AND PUN!] shifted through out the area, considering the fact that his "feathers" were actually hardened scales.

He knew he was being guided because of the smell. Not a bad smell but of a person neverless. Quite was all the young mercenary was at the moment...listening for any hints as to what was going on. Nothing could really hide from him. But the man talking........it wasn't right. It stuck through his head AND there was no echo......telepathy. Mind racing, he understood what was said. But apparently either the man was referring to those AT the hidden destination or just didn't know of Eko's existance currently. Well then again, most didn't.

Finally, the guide stopped Eko. Sighing, he stood at attention in a sense but was still covered and restricted by the multitudes of bonds. He took light breaths, aware of multiple peoples existance around him, the smells good and well.....not so good. It's like I'm surrounded by pigs as well as flowers and normal people. I wonder whether I will get to meet our "Host". Eko thought, as his large sword tapped against his back. For now, Eko would be patient and hopefully these nuisances of restraints would be taken off before he lost what small patience he did have. One of the queer qualities of him.
I told you things were fishy here as soon as we were transported. Why even come? Eko ignored Alduin, he was attentive to what was around him for right now instead of being nagged by her.

╘╡"And you were having such a good day."╞╛

Two more recruits arrived, just in time. Delfian had been well informed that they were coming. thus his words, except for the initial greeing of the members by name, as well as the brief "shout out" to Telnith. The most useful ability to telepathic communication, being that unless he wished it no one could hear him speak. In this manner Eko's thoughts that he'd gone unnoticed seemed rather Naive. "This boy has no interest in the Shadows. He'll mainly serve as target practice I suppose, unless his attitude changes. He will not fit in." After thinking this silently to himself, He re-focused on the two new arrivals whose Blindfolds and loose shackles were removed in the same manner as the other three before them.
So it would seem everyone had arrived. For the time being. It would soon be time for orientation. But before that. Telnith's arrival needed to be expedited. Thus when she had finally, though reluctantly, agreed, He took the liberty of teleporting her in amidst the group. Once again it would be time for introductions. Though this time Delfian decided to provide none.
"We've accomplished the primary task, Why don't you all say hello. As of this moment, You are all Black Shadow Acolytes." Despite this statement being technically true, there were still many steps before the truth became official.

{{Ooc:// }}

Eko blinked as his vision was returned to him, once, twice, and three times that was all he needed. His eyes quickly adjusted to the lighting of the area, his eyes on the stony man in front of him. His natural instincts immediately jumped to people around him, finding weak points to take at his advantage but then stopped himself, thinking himself safe.....well.....for the most part. He was still wary of the strangers around him but the stone man in front of him, intrigued him. Especially the man's statement....then he remembered why he had come. A chance to improve myself as well as try my worth at teamwork. Working alone is great and all.........but....we'll see. I've heard few things about this "group" and all of them....are skilled.

Quietly, Eko looked to his left and right, his expression unchanged from the thinking look it held. Furrowing his eyebrows, he spoke first after Delfian. "Greetings." was what he said, cooperating with what Delfian said........for now. Eko still had never worked with others, meaning he had no true idea how he would perform as a "team." But first, he stretched his wings, keeping them like that meant soreness. So he had to stretch.

Cracking his knuckles and neck, he stretched his wings to their max wingspan, not even thinking about the others around him. They drew close to the others but they did not touch, or else they would have been cut. "My apologies," he said apologetically, "I forgot my wings are that big. Irritating." After he stretched, Eko returned his gaze back to Delfian, a question on the rise. "Don't we have to earn the title of anything? Acolyte or not. It seems, since this is an....organization, you'd have to work your way, even for the bottom spot. Also, where do we....work? What will you have us do to begin with?" Eko may not seem like it, but he was really inquisitive. He had heard rumors of Delfian and his ruthlessness in combat. "Hopefully he's not one to take offense to questions. he thought, he didn't trust most people and Delfian, well, his senses were screaming at him. Just looking at Delfian made Eko feel insecure, but his Dragarian nature would not allow him to show that.

{{Ooc:// The mask is plain white right now, so ignore the face on the pictures. That comes later.}}

"I can stand on my own."

These were the first words to be spoken by Layce since he had been found by Delfian, and were also the only sign that he was alive at all. The Black Shadow holding Layce placed him feet first on the ground, Layce taking a somewhat shaky hold on the Black Shadows arm. After a moment, Layce released the arm and put his hand to the mask he bore on his face. He couldn't see anything, not a single detail was visible to him, and yet this felt right. Layce dropped his hand as he turned his head to face the voices he heard, aside from Delfian's of course which had no direction to be gathered from. Layce heard what sounded like a boy's voice speak, which drew a shake of Layce's head. He had heard Delfian's introduction and understood well enough why they had what the boy called as a 'title'.

"Think about if for a moment. He already said the primary task is accomplished. Something had been accomplished." Layce responded simply before putting his hand back to the mask as he touched the smooth surface. The way he didn't reach up to pull of the blinding mask... it was almost like he was blind in the first place. Why wouldn't he remove the mask if he could see with his eyes? Layce let out a sigh as he rubbed his head, still feeling a bit unsteady after Linkton. He had his reasons to be unsteady, as well as his soreness. He was recovering well enough though.

"Regardless, Hello. Call me Layce." And with that, Layce grew quiet again. He slowly dropped his hands to the swords at his sides, both of which were firmly placed in their sheaths. He had found them in Linkton, and he had kept them since. The swords were probably out of place to most people's eyes though, since Layce's clothing was rather dull and looked scavenged where as on of the swords had what appeared to be a sapphire gem in the sword guard. It hardly seemed the type of weapon for him to be carrying around if it was his own.

Layce ran his hand through his dark hear before putting his arm out as he nearly stumbled over. So he was still recovering it seemed, but it shouldn't be long. Being weak wasn't what had brought Layce here, and he certainly wasn't about to let that show more than he already was.

The only thing noticeable he couldent help but to stare at was her eyes, but the thought soon came out of his head. hmm i geuss ill find out soon enought he thought Turning his attention back over to the others around him.
Duke heard delfien telling them to introduce them selves, so he waited and listened to the others . First one to introduce himself was the one named eko. To duke he seemed out of place, as if he was only there to joke around or something. is he like an angel or something duke thought as he looked at the wings. Also on hes back he saw a wepon. Dukes eyes went wide as soon as he seen it. I missplaced my sowrds somewere in linkton" he thought furiously at himself, how could i have made such a rookie mistake, i never put them down unless I sleep, but even then its a habbit to put them back on. he was now worryed the only thing he could use to defend himself from something if anything went wrong was his magic, and he had to addmit that his magic was not the best.
He turn his attention over to the next person to introduce himself. He wore a mask as to hide his face form someone, he geussed it only made sence considering this clan seemed secretive and not publicly known. The man both introduce himself and awnsered the question of Eko.
After the question was awnsered Duke assumed it was his trun to say something. Talking wasent one of his specaltys, he would rather be someone who knew everybody but was not known him self, as if he never existed or was a shadow. But he geussed he should be known by the group he was in so he spoke . " hi...im duke" he said in a bit of a quiet smooth voice. " I also have a question, is there a weponry or somthing that we can have access to.... I seemed to have missplaced my wepons". He was embaressed to addmit it but he needed one.

Telnith | Dareis | Gallagher

Right as Telnith's foot touched the floor outside the room, a strange sensation came over her body. It was a familiar sensation, but different in that she was not the one initiating it. She was being teleported. It was so sudden she did not prepare herself for the transfer, and when she apparited amidst the group she stumbled, nearly tripping over her own legs as she hurried to catch herself from falling. No warning! She thought, a touch of irritation flashing across her eyes before the shield she held firmly over her emotions went back up and she glanced carefully around to see just where she had been landed.

It was the Central Chamber, a place she knew all too well from her first encounter with it when she had been forced to teleport herself and Ophidion out of harms way when she had aroused the instincts of the Black Shadow's pets, the Stilrak Jaggure. The very thought of them, as it had before though she took less notice of it, reminded her painfully of the healing wound on her back, and of the exhaustion she suffered from teleporting at a distance considerably greater than she was accustomed to doing. As she remembered it, Ophidion had to deactivate the crystals, a booby trap set up though what it did Telnith neither knew nor wished to experience.

She was not alone in the room, unsurprisingly. The girl stood awkwardly in the rough center of the group of recruits that had been brought in. Across from her, standing so everyone would have to face him, stood Delfian, her new master. It was in fact this that surprised her, as she assumed that she would be playing the role of a servant here (not that he had said anything of the like). Didn't most servants appear at the side of their master, just before fetching the guests their... well, there was always that possibility, but looking at the ones who surrounded her she found they didn't seem to be emitting any, what she considered to be, dangerous thoughts. Not that she had delved into their minds or attempted to get into them, just enough to look at passing thoughts. Her attempt at getting into Delfian's mind was... well, it was going to make her think twice before carelessly entering one's mind. Then why was I-

"As of this moment, You are all Black Shadow Acolytes."

Telnith blinked, blue eyes focusing in on Delfian. By "all", does he mean to include me? The thought seemed ridiculous to her, in fact it seemed certainly impossible. Why would she be included by that? Clearly they had been interacting before she arrived, so maybe he had been speaking to them shortly before her reply. That makes the most sense. She thought, a sense of relief. She know of the Black Shadow enough to know the sort of things they did. Mercenaries, assassins, she was not fit for such a life. She was just a girl, a slave, after all. What purpose or reason did she had to kill someone? Raigon. At the image of the man who led Lilith and had brought the destruction to her home and all who were connected to it anger boiled up. If she were to ever take up a weapon, it would certainly be to kill him.

Exhaling, after having realized she had been holding her breath since her arrival, Telnith stared after Delfian, wondering if he would issue any orders that would typically come from a master to their servant.

╘╡"And you were having such a good day."╞╛

Having concluded the opening introduction, with his face uncovered, He turned to each speaker in turn and listened carefully, his cold eyes closed in contemplation, though rather unnecessary, he found most people were unsettled by his eyes when they were cast upon them. He decided to answer the questions which had been asked, in order to make room for new ones. "Firstly, water will be availible to you throughout the training, unless there is a necessety to deny it. However this chamber doesn't have any readily availible. As far as your wings Eko, there may be some cramped tunnels, however you're not the only Shadow posessed with such appendages. I will have Gabriel show you to the various clambers where flying is more suitable. As far as the earning of the title, there were three things which deemed you worthy of the title. One You were invited to come here. Two you submitted to the simple actions of sumbission on your way here. Three, you didn't come here to try to kill me. To answere your last question as well as Duke's, we will be taking you to the equipment room after allowing you to change into your uniforms in the acolyte barracks. There is no seperation by gender here. All Shadows are treated with equal respect. To be accepted here makes it clear that you've been recognized as of great strength or merit. Anyone who would attempt to disrespect this arrangement has had to answer to me. There has never been any attempted infraction of this rule." His eyes clawed open at this last remark, a fierce intensity burning inside them, Clearly stating that Shadows are not to break the rules without even saying another word. These were the eyes which had killed millions. "After you're dressed and equipped the final step afterward would be to have one of these implanted at the base of your skull." Delfian lifted a small purple crystal shard about as long as a dime it looked small and harmless. "Don't worry, it won't hurt a bit, and afterwards you'll be able to communicate clearly and quietly, allowing your organization and teamwork to improve dramatically." The two black shadows chuckled softly when Delfian stated that it wouldn't hurt a bit, and Delfian's own grin was a slight bit unnerving, though essentially Delfian was telling the truth. By the end of the procedure, they wouldn't remember the pain, though this was hardlyt a step to rob them of their individuality. It would network their minds with Delfian's. His eyes cast upon each of them as if waiting for more questions momentarily, before they settled with a smile on Telnith, the little gem he found amidst slaves. And then so that only she alone could hear he sent some words to her. "You still don't understand my little gem?" these words were almost unexpectedly warm soft and charming. "You are special." As if to illustrate this point, though no one else would understand he pulled the simple paper from inside the fold of his shirt and tossed it over to the girl, giving to her, the deed to her freedom.

Eko nodded his head..........that was good enough. He would be interested to meet this.....Gabriel. His eyes then wandered towards Telnith, who had just arrived.........interesting. One...it was teleportation. Her arrival didn't..shock him, needless to say. It just raised the curiousity factor of the young boy, which was basically what he was. She appeared about his age as well, but Eko had been accustomed to women and their trickery. She IS attractive...but what happened with all of those other girls.......betrayal and mockery. She might be like them......backing off is my best bet. And he did, however curious she made him......unless she made first contact.

The boy mercenary coughed, before looking up at Delfian. "Thank you for the....concern, Master Delfian....but pardon me when I say that the gem in the head won't hurt.....I don't believe that. Something like that shoved in something like my mind....well let's just say not hurting is a....pillow to cushion the blow for when it really occurs." Ah Eko........ever the realist. Feeling slightly misplaced, he placed a hand on his two handed sword, just relaxing while realizing he wasn't COMPLETELY defenseless.
