User ImageA young colt bounced his way through the woods, leaping over large fallen branches as sun light glinted off his bright blue pelt. Cyan eyes scanned the area, searching through openings in the cluster of trees. Searching for any sign of his absent minded father.

He'd been walking with his father, learning about the various plants, when he'd spotted a Queeb. Naturally he'd had to pursue the shadowy pest and prevent it from laying it's claws on any unsuspecting baskets. The slimy creature he eluded his grasp, unfortunately, and when he returned it was to find his father gone.

And that's what led up to now, with him searching for any sign of the other stallion. One would think it wouldn't be hard to spot a dark blue stallion, even one as tiny as his father, amongst all the green and brown, but so far he'd found no sign of his father.

Maybe he went back without me? The colt quickly banished the thought. His father would never leave him behind.... on purpose anyways.

User ImageEllial walked through the woods, his purpose for this venture having long been swallowed up by the fog that constantly surrounded his mind. Along with any other thought he might have had. At the moment his mind was simply empty. It was in a zombie like state that he now walked. Not even stumbling over an unearthed tree root could draw him back.

A raven flitted from branch to branch in the tree tops up above. Its beady eyes tracked the peculiar stallion down below. Why did it amble in such a manner? Was it close to death? If so, it'd make a tasty snack. Until something bigger came along.

Feeling brave, the raven dove down to perch on the stallion's back. Sinking its talons into the stallion's hide to keep its balance. When the action received no response from the stallion, the raven let out an amused caw. Even if it got no snack, it'd at least get a free ride.

For the young colt, it felt as if he had been searching for his absent minded father for hours. Frustration had him stomping his hoof into the ground, a scowl twisting his young mouth. He should have known better than the venture out with Daddy Elli and no Daddy Zai. Even Enitan's young mind could grasp that when Daddy Elli went into one his odd spells, Daddy Zai seemed to be the only that could snap him back to the current subject. Usually by berating Daddy Elli. But Enitan knew, despite the harsh words used, that Daddy Zai loved Daddy Elli a lot.

Cyan eyes disappeared behind bright blue eye lids when a knew thought a rose. What if he never found Daddy Elli? Would Daddy Zai be mad at him? Would he place the blame on Enitan for losing track of the other stallion?

Just the thought had Enitan whimpering, tears threatening to spill from his cyan eyes.

Sensations began to break through the thick fog that covered his mind. Something was digging into backside. Scratching at it. Breaking the skin hidden behind his fur. The itchy sensation of blood running through his fur, staining the blue parts purple, and down to his leg, had him wrinkling his nose. Legs that were running on autopilot came to a stop as confused cyan eyes looked over the darkened forest.

Where am I? How di-

Panic had his eyes widening as realization came blasting back. He'd been walking with Enitan! He whipped around, the movement startling the crow that stubbornly remained on his backside. Where was his son?!

The young colt rested his body against a tree while trying to fight back the sobs that wracked his tiny body. Not even the soothing voices of the trees- creations of his delusions- could calm him. The darkness was encroaching upon him. He hated the darkness. He hated being embraced by the shadows, despite being too old to be of any interest to them.

Pressing closer to tree, his hooves scrambled in the grass as he desperately searched for any sign of his father. Then, something even more terrifying than the shadows made its presence known. A sharp howl ripped through night, shaking Enitan down to his core.

Wolves.
