A low cloud roamed overhead, casting a gray shadow over the lands. Trees and plants just starting to regrow looked forlorn in the dim light, leaves bending over sideways under the weight of the thick drops of dew upon them. Well, at least it wasn't raining now. Even the thick forest canopy could not block out all the drops.
Sakura shook her damp mane, wishing she'd been closer to her home when the shower started. Then again, it would teach her a lesson. Don't roam far. Normally she wouldn't have, but a persistent restlessness had caused her to walk further than usual. Well, seeing as it had stopped raining, she might as well pause and take in the scenery.
Though she'd walked further than usual, her location wasn't totally unfamiliar. She'd been here once or twice before. The trail to the left stuck out in her mind, as did the queer looking rock just ahead. That was good. Wandering too far could get her lost, and being far from home made the mare incredibly wary. The furthest she'd ever traveled was the grove, which was only a short flight away anyway.
