Osun shivered a little and woke slowly, it took him a few bleary moments to realise Karia wasn't lying nearby, it didn't surprise him since she still acted a little cold towards him and he could sort of understand it, their time together hadn't exactly been full of love and romance, it had been more of a moment or rather several moments of hormones and passion. He'd cursed himself at the time, already having mostly grown pups with the female Linnie, he felt secure about leaving the pups with their mother, they were all able to hunt and Devika seemed more than able to mother everyone for Linnie, who was more of a friend than a mother.

He got up and yawned, following Karia's scent trail to a tree, "Karia? is everything alright?" he asked, not venturing in towards her. He had to admit to himself, while he didn't love Karia in the way her sister and her mate loved each other, Osun did feel something, affection, responsibility, he wasn't totally sure, the more time he spent around the female, the more the feeling grew but he was still unsure of what it was, e knew one thing, he wasn't about to abandon the white wolf, even though she had family to help, Osun wasn't the type of wolf to leave at a time like this. He'd been raised to respect females, and always do your 'duty' if you got into just this kind of situation. At first, when he'd learned Karia was expecting he'd felt entirely duty bound, but there was something, it may have been buried deep but .. maybe he was seeing the female as more than just a wolf he should take care of, the start of a friendship ...perhaps more.

Osun's eyes flew wide "The pups are coming?!" he panicked for a split second, "n...now don't worry Karia.. um...is there anything you need?" he called to her, worried a little as she'd been so large, Linnie had been too but he hadn't felt this concerned about the birth. He didn't stop to think why that could be though. His ears picked up her low whine of pain and he lowered them, feeling bad that she was hurting and he couldn't do much for her.

He paced outside the den, trying to think of what to do for her, she could probably hear the pad, pad, pad of his paws on the ground if she was listening at all. "I'll .. I'll stand guard.. that's what i'll do .." he mumbled to himself loudly, still pacing back and forth outside.

Osun nodded, then realising she couldn't see it he leaned down, his face just outside the den, looking at her gently "No fear, nothing will get past me" he said proudly. He paced and paced, ears twitching to the sounds inside the den, the whimpers of birth, and of the puppies as they took their first breaths. The sounds made his stomach churn nervously, both happy and worried at the same time. Some hour later, when his legs were beginning to tire a little from the constant pacing, he'd had a few starts where he thought he'd heard larger creature moving but they had turned out to be a spread out herd of deer.

His ears swivelled when Karia said he could could see the pups, quivering with excitement at meeting his new babies he made his careful way into the den, careful to keep a respectful distance between himself and her, the pups curled against her, "Oh Karia.... they're wonderful" he whispered so softly he didn't think he'd spoken at all, he wanted to get closer, to touch the pups with his nose, to breath their scent in, his nose twitched his eagerness but he held himself back and looked into Karia's face "Yes ....i'm very happy" he smiled, his tail waving gently, trying not to disturb any dust or debris on the floor. He felt the urge to be affectionate, and he got up, moving to nuzzle her before he could stop himself.

Osun was startled by the fact she hadn't lashed out, even just with her tongue, at the nuzzle he gave her, sitting back on his haunches as she spoke, he stared a little, wondering if he was asleep and dreaming."I'm sure she'll adore them, they're...wonderful" he whispered, trying not to screw things up and get her mad at him. He blinked again when she said she didn't hate him. "you ...you don't hate me?" he said, clearly in a little bit of shock at the statement, it was no surprise to hear that she had at first but then she mentioned about him being a good father and he would have blushed, had he been able to, instead he hung his head and gave a small goofy smile. "I....I will do my best to be good for them" he told her, nodding his head as if affirming his statement.

His jaw hung open when she nuzzled him, it was a light one but .. it was a nuzzle nonetheless, He grinned widely when she said he could touch the pups, his tail thumped loudly on the floor in happiness. "I'm proud of you Karia...they truly are amazing" he said, putting his nose out and touching the nearest one that wasn't suckling, smiling proudly when it squeaked at the strange new contact.
