So first off never Ever talk about politics or whatever with your friends. ^-^ Okay anyways so I was saying that I don't like the wars going on, and a lot of the choices that America is making/ has made. And I was talking about it with a friend and he called me anti american and a terrorist. (Which was really out of line and I called him out on it.) What do you guys think? {Ps. not sure if it will happen, but if it gets out of line I'll get a crew/VC/C to come close this.}

That is bogus of your friend...the truth is that your opinions make you more of an american because I think that a true patriot is one who loves their country but isn't afraid to call it out on all of its mistakes

I think your friend went too far. While the world having no war is an ideal, it will likely never happen. That said, however, doesn't mean that you are anti-American simply because you don't wish to see those you love die in a war that didn't have to be.

You have a right to your opinion and he was out of line by calling you that. I try not to talk politics at all with my friends it'll just turn into a heated argument and I'd rather avoid that.

Wow, that's some friend you've got! rolleyes It's been said already, but that was obviously way out of line.
As someone already said, while a world without war is the ideal (at least to me) I have accepted that it's not going to happen, at least not any time soon. However, accepting that war will be doesn't mean that I support every war. If you think that a certain war is flawed, in it's justifications or implementations or modes of action, how is trying to improve the process anti-American? War is brutal almost by default, but does that mean that trying to make it less so is terrorism?
For example, I find that our reasons for going into Iraq were deceptions (this has actually been shown to be true and is not merely opinion) and that our reasons for staying there are dubious at best. I was therefore an opponent of the war and remain an opponent of our continued presence and puppet democracy there. Am I anti-American? I certainly don't think so.
As far as this Libya thing, what Obama has done, while not strictly illegal, is unconstitutional in that the power to declare a military action (also known as an act of war) is a power given only to the Legislative branch. This power was given to the Executive branch in a act of Congress, an action explicitly forbidden in the Constitution (meaning that no branch of government can give it's powers and responsibilities to another).

Yes, your friend has gone too far and yes, world peace is unattainable especially under the secularism of our modern world.
But, war should be a last resort when all means of diplomacy breaks down! Desert Storm was a good war because it was in defense of an ally (Kuwait). But, Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom both fell short.

 honestly the thought of a world at peace is a fantasy it could only happen if people weren't so currupt, but no one is perfect, anyways you have everyright to dream, and your friend was out of line to call you what he did. and to say such things is like forbbiding you your rights, which america holds dear, we have every right to say whats on our mind.

Why must people be so autrophilosophobic (afraid of the thoughts/ opinions of others)?

You see, people think we are in a war... the government says we are not.... think back now to those of you in you 50's to the cold war... what happened then? the government said we are not in war... but we were... in some aspects the cold war never stopped, we are still telling others to fight our battles for us for the "right of freedom(as long as we can pick your government for you)" The man that just died... what's his name... Obama... Oh wait... no... Osama bin laden he became the was he was because of the Russians and Americans ruining the middle east... the cold war isn't over... Russia still wants more land... (still wants the Baltics) Emperor Angelo, i'm sorry to inform you but sadly (again) not all countries, ethnicities or religions think that peace and diplomacy is the best thing one could use. take america for example...*gasp!* wait... did I just say that?! yes, I did, we could avoid being bombed and having EVERY OTHER COUNTRY ON THE PLANET MAD AT US by just receding into our own borders and saying, "okay guys, we'll be here and you have fun cleaning up the mess we left for you!" if I've offended, please throw it back at me... Sage, as for your friend, they are just stupid, they don't understand the principles on which this country was brought up on... heck people on other countries know our history better than we know it. He is just someone who should join the military and go into war himself to find out just how horrifying it is... or tell him to read All Quiet on the Western Front good book, gives lots of perspective.

It's a book by Dalton Trumbo about an American soldier during WWI that wakes up in a hospital bed one day after an incident with a mine. He gradually begins to realize that he lost his arms, legs, eyes, ears, nose, and mouth in the explosion, and that he is doomed to forever be a prisoner of his own mind. He also has a large hole in his side, which a rat occasionally picks at. This book is actually banned in a few states.
