"One double-mocha frappuccino with whipped cream, please!" Phoebe chirped cheerily at the teenage boy behind the counter, merrily ignoring the perils of caffeine on her preteen system, and fidgeted with her eyepatch as she waited for her order to be filled. Today was the first day she'd had to herself in weeks, and she was fully intent on enjoying it to the max.
She had the entire day planned out - shopping, window-shopping, and more shopping! The pink-haired spawn had to do something with all of that babysitting money she'd earned taking care of Kupo and Belle! The only thing that could make this day even better would be if Ily came by, finally acknowledging what an absolutely perfect couple they would be!
... It would so happen one of these days, Phoebe was sure of it. Hadn't her fancy future-telling book said something like that? That Ily's true feelings would be revealed soon? Ugh, she didn't quite remember it now, but it had to mean Ily liked her back, right? It just had to!
With her order finished and handed to her and the clerk paid off, Ily took a sip of her drink and skipped merrily towards the door of the shop, ready to head off to her next destination.

Ilyrosa had no idea what she was going to do today. In fact, it was once again a day she had no idea what was going on or where she was going. Hell, she hadn't a freaking clue as to WHERE she was on gaia! After escaping Seth and Damon at the house for some fresh air and running from some creepy a** dude in some back ally, it was safe to say the wrath girl was lost. But who was she to care? It just meant she had more time to get back home and more options of what to do.
Unless of course she happened to find someone to meet up with as unlikely as it was. The day was alright, temperature wise, but it was still cold out compared to summer head. Passing by the coffee shop, ignorant to her friend inside, Ily hummed a song softly to herself that had been stuck in her head the past week or so. It was driving everyone at the house insane, but for the life of her she couldn't understand why. It was a great song!
If she could possibly sing it in tune or at least in a key and octave she could reach...

Phoebe took a sip of her frappuccino as she stepped out the door, and her long ears gave a twitch as she heard the sound of a... very loud, very off-key rendition of a song. Ouch, that was.... kind of painful to listen to, who was doing that singing? Turning her head to look, she spotted Ilyrosa and nearly dropped her frappuccino in shock. She was here! She'd really come!
Taking off after the other girl, Phoebe barely managed to hold onto her drink as she called out, "Ily! Ily, wait up! Let's go together!" Well, there went her shopping plans for the day... but Phee really couldn't care less.
After all, Ily was here, so that meant that whatever her book had said was going to come true soon! Oh, this was so exciting! (And no, that long, feathered tail of hers was not wagging - it was helping her balance. She wasn't a puppy!)

Ily paused, her humming stopping mid-word. Turning, she flashed Phoebe a grin. "Hey Phee! Long time no see! What's up?" she asked, shoving her hands into her shorts pockets. What once appeared to be a boring day filled with wandering home suddenly became far more fun and interesting. Thankfully she had on a reasonable black shirt on that mostly covered her, which helped with the stares she got from people and keeping a low profile.
"Where ya headed to? I've got nothing better to do today anyways," she added, laughing softly. Her shirt was one of her favorites, since it had swirls of varying shades of gray all over it and was one of the few Damon approved of her wearing during the day. God, he was so overprotective some days...

Phoebe bit back an excited squeal at the idea that Ily would be spending the entire day with her - it wouldn't do to seem immature and silly in front of her crush, after all. Her expression, however, was nearly giddy as she caught up to the older girl, her smile nearly overtaking her face.
"I was just going to go shopping and spend some time away from the bookstore - I've been doing so much babysitting lately - I really needed the break!" She tried to keep her voice sounding reasonably calm, just happy to see her friend, but her sheer joy and excitement were impossible to mask, making the pink-haired spawn resemble nothing more than a very happy, energetic puppy.
The fact that her tail was still moving back and forth more than was strictly necessary for balance wasn't aiding in that imagery, either.

Ily paused at the thought of shopping, inwardly grimacing at the thought. She hated, absolutely HATED shopping when it wasn't a quick trip for necessary clothes. Usually she knew what she wanted and just ran in, figured out the sizing, bought the clothes and took them to Damon's friend for alterations. That was how her shopping went, at least. The only times she was slower was when she had to decide between things or got in a fight with a clerk for some stupid reason or another.
"Shopping? Hm... Sure, better than being home I guess. God, that house is just so... INFURIATING some days," she growled, angrily kicking at a rock and sending it flying right into a building where it shattered into a thousand pieces. "Sorry, Dad pisses me off some days. So! Where to first?" Ilyrosa asked with a grin, her own tail swishing back and forth at a slow and somewhat restrained tempo.

Phoebe took a step back as Ily kicked the rock, not wanting to get in the way if the older girl lost her temper. Ily was awesome and amazing and all kinds of wonderful things, but she was scary when she was mad. The pride spawn told herself that she could deal with that, though, she just needed to learn how! Really, it couldn't be too bad right? So with another bright smile, she offered something that she thought would please Ily (and perhaps convince her to stick around longer!)
"Hm... why don't you pick, Ily? I didn't have anywhere special in mind - we can go wherever!" As long as it was together, the pink-haired preteen was more than happy to go just about anywhere with her crush. Her hopefully-someday-more-than-just-a-crush.

She could pick, huh? That was interesting. "Hm... Anywhere huh? Little early to go have fun at a Halloween prop store and the other one I go to a lot is on the other side of town..." Ily mused aloud, pausing to look around at her options. She honestly didn't feel like walking for a half hour to go tour one store and didn't think Phee would either.
Unfortunately, some of her options weren't any better sounding. A nail salon and expensive jewelry store were out, as was the baby store just down the street. Like hell she'd be allowed in one and the other was just silly since her nails never stayed nice for long when painted. Hence why they were usually a solid color with the occasional decoration if she felt like it. "How about... That one?" Ilyrosa asked, motioning to a half-hidden store next to the baby shop. It advertised homemade and exotic jewelry, as well as unique clothes and objects like incense and dream catchers.

Truthfully, Phoebe was just a little frightened of that half-hidden shop. It was interesting, yes, but it looked just a little scary to her for some reason. It was... kind of silly since her home was probably a little scary to people who hadn't grown up there and she wasn't afraid of it in the least, but she couldn't help what she was feeling.
"Oh... okay," she said, trying not to look afraid. "I'll go in behind you," she added, her visible eye just a little wide.
Not that anything in there would hurt her - it couldn't hurt her!

Ily nodded, completely unaware of Phoebe's fear mostly because the shop had captured a good chunk of her attention and thus making her oblivious to everything but the obvious. "Alrighty. Let's go in then!" she replied, heading across the empty street and up to the door of the airy, tropical-looking shop. It was so out of place and yet was attempting to be inviting at the same time.
As she stepped inside, her attention was instantly drawn to the jewelry. There were shark-tooth necklaces and bracelets, multi-colored shell pieces and rings... Everything was so... so.. COLORFUL. Gazing in awe at the stuff within, Ily made her way into the store only to find it larger on the inside than it appeared to be from across the street. She could practically live here if she wanted to.

For some reason, the tropical-esque store had Phoebe almost ready to run for the hills. Not that she would admit it, of course - being a pride child meant that nothing could POSSIBLY frighten her because she was far too awesome to be afraid of anything! Besides, Ily seemed to be having fun and that was more important than anything that Phoebe was (not) afraid of.
The pink-haired spawn trailed after the older girl, sticking mostly in her shadow and sipping nervously at her coffee. Maybe she could find something in here that - that Ily would like, and buy it for her! And Ily would love it and then she'd realize that they were meant to be together and they could spend all of the rest of the day holding hands and maybe even kissing and - ohhhh, that was worth being scared!
Her face lit up in a blush as she thought about all of the things that would - it was definitely 'would', because who could turn her down? She was the best! - happen.

Ily gasped as her eyes alighted on a necklace that just seemed to call to her. Every other bead was a small shark tooth while the beads themselves were pieces of shiny shells. In the center dangling down was a much larger shark tooth, complete with serrated edges and all. "Oh wow... That's... so freaking cool! Hey Phee! You should see this!" she managed to say, already pulling it off the display for a better look and to see how it'd look if worn.
"Oh shoot, nearly forgot I was wearing this," Ilyrosa muttered aloud, realizing with a start that she was wearing the necklace Gabriel had gotten her. Tucking it back into her shirt and grimacing at the little lump that formed under her shirt. It was beautiful, yes, but it wasn't the easiest to conceal under tight shirts.

Phoebe came over and peered at the shark tooth necklace. Well... it wasn't to her taste, but Ily liked it, and that was all that mattered! She would get it for her and Ily would see how much she liked her and- wait... what was that under Ily's shirt...? Completely distracted from her fantasies now, the pink-haired spawn felt an unsettling sensation creep over her. That wasn't anything to worry about... right...? It didn't mean anything, there was no need to get upset or jealous, right?
Of course not!
"Um... Ily... what's that under your shirt?" She asked, trying not to point at the lump, and trying to keep her voice from sounding choked and shaky. She only succeeded at not pointing.

"Hm?" Ily asked, admiring the necklace still as she held it up to her neck and peered at her reflection in the small mirror. It took her several moments to realize what exactly Phee was asking her and to return from her overwhelming thoughts as she analyzed how she looked. "Under my shirt? Ah, I didn't show you did I?" And with that, the necklace was replaced for the moment and the necklace she had hidden away pulled out from hiding.
As it glittered and sparkled in the light, a glowing smile stretched across her face. "Twas a gift from Gabriel. Isn't it so pretty? He said it was nothing compared to my beauty, though I say otherwise. I always wear the necklace you got me as well as this one too," Ilyrosa explained, pulling out the other necklace that appeared to be a little more worn than the first one she had removed from hiding. The color went from a vibrant, warm red down to a cooler blue-green as the warmth of her skin faded.

All of the color drained from Phobe's face as her heart dropped into the pit of her stomach. Ily had a boyfriend? And - and she hadn't even told her? Didn't - didn't she care about her feelings at all? The pride child swallowed roughly and backed away a step or two, staring at the older girl through vision suddenly blurred with tears.
How could she do this?
Didn't she know - didn't she care - and to not even notice how much Phoebe liked her?
The crushing rejection faded away as her demonic side registered just what a blow this was to a fundamental part of her very being - pride. Not just rejected, but never even noticed at all?!? This couldn't go unanswered. Phoebe didn't care who Ily's new boyfriend was, or about the shiny, pretty present he had given the teen - except that she had no knowledge of it.
Her tears drying away in an angry haze, Phoebe stepped closer again, her wounded pride carrying her now, far more than her broken heart.
"You - he -"
Words beyond her at this point, the pink-haired preteen gave up trying to say anything, and, registering the iced coffee she still held in one hand, reached up and poured it all over the other girl's shirt, snagging the gift she'd given and viciously tugging it off in almost the same motion. That necklace had been for Ily because of her crush on her. Phoebe had worked hard on it, finding the pretty mood-stone, deliberating for hours and hours over what exactly to do with it and how to give it to the older spawn... and Ily had never known, never cared, never even spared a glance for her.
Ily didn't deserve that gift! She didn't deserve anything!
