Another day of walking with his brother. They had been traveling for some time since leaving their home pride in search of experience, knowledge, and perhaps a new life. They were not required to return after their wanderings, though it was encouraged to keep the pride populated and protected. For now they were enjoying themselves, having met a few new and interesting faces along the way so far. Oh it was so much different out here in the open savannah compared to their forested home. Here you could see for miles and miles without trees getting in the way. That certainly made hunting a lot easier, though granted they still botched hunts every now and then.
It was midday and the heat was forcing them to search out a watering hole. "I'm sure that lion said it was this way." He told his brother as they walked, but there was one thing they learned quite quickly out here, that rogues didn't always speak truthful. That lion could have been talking about a watering hole many, many miles away from here. "Well we better find it soon." Adongo replied as his eyes scanned the area searching for any hints of water. He could go for something to eat as well, though his hungry was only starting to grow and at the moment thirst was the more important thing to attend to. "If he was lying, we should go back and teach him a lesson about being truthful." There was a smile on his maw but he was being serious, these rogues had a cruel sense of humor at times telling them to travel in one direction when they should have gone in the other. That was why for the most part they decided upon directions and other details for themselves, that way if they were wrong they only had themselves to blame and not some stranger they may never well see again. "We'll never get there if you keep moving so slow. You're dragging along like a wounded zebra." He teased his brother, as he picked up the pace again.

Kuhanja wasn't particularly good at being a rogue, sometimes.
Oh, she knew a few things. She knew how to eat food stolen from others, how to crack bones for marrow, how to even bring down her own game from time to time when an opportunity struck her. She knew how to travel and move from place to place and wander with the weather.
But the idea of the world being a dangerous place had so far never occurred to her. Oh, sure, it had been pounded into her skull by her mother time and again, but she'd tuned it all out early on and never given any credence at all to the warnings.
For the most part, she hadn't met many other lions. Those she had, she'd had pleasant conversations with and then moved along her way.
So, entirely unaware of the possible ramifications, she was just now enjoying a nap out in the open, completely unaware of the world around her.
She lay sprawled out on her back, paws up in the air, snoring slightly. There was something decidedly childish about her. Occasionally her paw twitched, but otherwise she didn't stir, not even awoken by the nearby conversation of two brother lions.

"Well good luck finding him if he was wrong, chances are he is long gone by now." So was the life out here, never knowing who to trust and whether east was in fact supposed to be west when given directions. Apiyo brought his paws to a stop for a moment and looked at his brother with an amused look on his face. "I'm moving like a wounded zebra? Well excuse me for trying to keep a pace that you could keep up with mister didn't want to wake up this morning. Next time I'll let you sleep in and continue on without you." It was an idle threat as they both knew neither would leave the other without good reason.
Picking up the pace a bit Apiyo gave his brother a nudge on the shoulder. "Come on then, since your in such a hurry." He didn't get very far when something bright green caught his attention and bringing his paws to stop in time he looked down upon the seemingly sleeping lioness. "Watch out Adongo." He warned his brother who might not have seen her. It wasn't entirely safe out here, so he thought it best to inform her of this. Poking the lioness lightly with his paw Apiyo cleared his throat. "Excuse me."
Adongo snorted a bit. "Well, yeah that's because you snored all night long. Next time you do that I'm gonna hit you." He followed his brother until Apiyo suddenly stopped causing Adongo to run into him. "And now you stop. We're never gonna get there." Then he noticed the lioness laying in front of his brother and understood why he had stopped. "Hey wake up." He called to the lioness. "It isn't safe to sleep out here like that." She mustn't understand the dangers that the rogue lands held and clearly it was up to him and his brother to set her straight. They had after all been brought up to protect those around them and even though this lioness was a stranger to them he felt the obligation, and was certain his brother would as well, to protect this lioness from harm.

"Mmmmf?" She groaned, swiping blindly with a paw. Her nose wrinkled and she gave a tremendous yawn, stretching all of her paws out in every direction. She opened her eyes, then, still flat on her back, and peered up curiously at the brown lions with soft purple eyes. "Oh, hello there," she said, good-naturedly. "Can I help you with something?"
If she had any inclination toward getting up, she certainly didn't seem to show it.
