The large stallion walked slowly through the dense fog with the night sky hanging over his head and the breeze sweeping against his face. He was wandering like usual, but this time he was searching for something. He felt like he should give up on his search or maybe he wasn’t as good as he use to be. Maybe it was time he moved on and forgot about that awful family? He felt confused and he hated not knowing what he wanted to do with his life. He hated not knowing what or where he would go with his life. He didn’t know what would become of him really.

He gave a snort and turned his head away to look at a lone tree in the distance. It was very creepy looking and probably the best place for him to rest right now. This whole area actually was very creepy. He was just realizing that now as he entered more into the dense fog. His hooves were stepping in thick mud and his bluish white eyes peeked warily through his mask. Why did he feel so out of place right now?

“I don’t know why I feel this way father…My whole life I have devoted my time and efforts to that family yet I feel so alone. I feel so empty. I don’t understand it and yet, I want to stay because it would be a place for me to serve a purpose. A place where I know there is a spot waiting for me. When I’m there though I just feel like I’m used for war like you were. Used like a toy until I can’t walk anymore. Then while Faith sits high and mighty on her throne looking too pretty to fight…Me and the other stallions are working so hard to protect the herd from other threats. It’s…it’s sickening.”

He said lightly to himself and most of the time he did speak with his father. Most of the time he could actually see his father, but as of late. His father wasn’t there. He didn’t know if it was something he had done or just that he was in a different place at the moment wandering like he usually did. This made him stressed since it was really the only other person in the world that understood him. No one else seemed to care, not even his own mother. She didn’t know why he battered up his body the way he did nor did she understand why he was so careless to get into trouble.

What did she know?
What did they all know?

He hadn’t been happy since he was born. From a foal stage he started intense training with his father nearly breaking more bones then he could count. Anyone that wanted to be involved in protecting the herd was put through vigorous training. Then when they were a young adult they were tested in front of a live enemy. This usually meant a wolf, leopard, tiger, or in rare cases an actual kalona. Either you survived or didn’t and if you were wounded badly, they would leave you to rot in the woods alone. He found it to be horrible and if he didn’t have his size he didn’t know how he would have made it out of training. Though his initiation was battling two wolves instead of one, it was still a very tough fight.

Now he stood in front of the tree. He didn’t know how he got there, but his thoughts seemed to envelop him so much that he didn’t realize he was walking that fast. He stared at it for a long moment before lowering himself onto the ground. It was cold and a little damp causing him to shift uncomfortably against the stone below him.

Resting…he found himself doing it more and more now and hated it.

“Just another day or nothing. Another day of waiting for something to happen. Father if you still out there I could use some advice. Something that will make me have the will to move on. I don’t usually sound this pathetic and I’m sorry if it’s disappointing, but I feel like I have failed. Failed in becoming what you always wanted me to be. If you are out there give me a sign…anything.”

When his voice trailed off, the cold dead silence of the night could be heard except for a faint breeze that rustled the leaves above him.

Never did he talk like this to anyone living. His father was his only soft spot and more importantly, the only one he missed.

Night, it was a time when the creatures of nightmares and scary tales usually woke from their slumber and stepped out in to the world. It was a time in which they stalked those foolish enough to travel under the dark skies, and made plans to bring chaos upon the work. Moonlight and starlight could bring some comfort. Traveling with no light was just idiotic. But to travel within the darkness when a fog crept along the land? Sometimes it could help, but other times it could hide creatures and turn some mad.

For Schizoid it just brought some amount of amusement. While the fog helped him blend in to the darkness of the forest, it also annoyed him because he knew prey would be slim. Those with half a brain would know to stay hidden until the morning or until the fog decided to lift.

Growling out of frustration the male let out a raptor like call in hopes that maybe sometime would scamper out, or maybe he would be answered back by a fellow nightly predator, but he was answered by nothing but the sound of his own echo.

'How boring. Not even a lone rabbit or rat to stomp on. Tch, I should have just stayed back with Quarantine. There must be some kind of idiot walking around tonight. Even a foal or usdia would do...'

With a snort his glowing orange eyes slit in to glares, but that soon vanished when his ears picked up on a glum voice which he decided to follow with careful steps.

'Well well well. What do we have here?'

A twisted grin played on Schiz's lips when he caught sight of a large figure. He had always wanted a challenge to mess with, so maybe today would be his day. It would just be a matter of going in full force, or playing with the target from a distance.

Tail flicking, and wings folded to his side, the long Kalona male slowly started to circle the area like a lion watching prey.

"I think you sound a little more pathetic than you think you do, big guy. Take another step down and maybe I would have to wonder if you're the suicidal type, which would just make things easier for me I guess, but then again there would be no fun in that. However, I suppose anyone stupid enough to go out on a foggy night is asking for a death sentence anyway..."

The large stallion heard another nearby, but he didn't break away from his own thoughts. He couldn't. They were slowly beginning to envelop him and it seemed like there was going to be no escape. No freedom from all this at all. It wasn't until he heard the voice that he snapped out of his pathetic trance. He looked over a little seeing the kalona stallion circling him like he was on his menu tonight. He had to admit that the kalona was rather intimidating with his bandages over his muzzle then a manic smile showing on a little bit under them. He could barely see it, but what he could see of it told him he needed to be careful with this one. He knew when to back down and when to bulk up. It was his nature after all.

"I am not pathetic. Haven't you ever thought about your life and whether you did everything right in it? I'm guessing you haven't. You seem rather young compared to me and probably don't have that much experience of the world."

He spoke lightly to him rolling his eyes in slight irritation. He didn't like to be called pathetic or anything that was demeaning to his ego. He didn't like to be busted up that way. There was nod need for it, but he knew how to take it at least.

"What brings you around here, young one? Hunting or just picking a fight?"

He snickered at the other male as he straightened his poster to show just how towering he was in reality. Thought the other male wasn't a midget compared to him one could tell the size differentiation. It wasn't that hard to miss.

"I'm not asking for death nor do I plan on ending my life here. I will die in battle one day if anything."

He said to him with a slight growl under his breath as he walked over to him eying him up a little bit as he flicked his tail.

"I'm Gabriel...what is your name?"

He asked fixing his light blue eyes on the stallion.

A light growl purred within the young stallion’s through as his ember like eyes scanned his target over. It wasn’t everyday that he got a chance to battle one larger than himself, especially one whom seemed as if, if prompted to, would have no problem with defending himself. However, it was that very thought to kept Schizoid on his hooves. The other stallion, the one called “Gabriel”, well he hoped that was right since at the moment he wasn’t really paying attention to the other stallion’s blabbering, was more than a match.

He was bigger, most likely stronger and more experienced, so it wasn’t as if he could just go in and attack him.

No, Schiz would have to go against primal instinct with this one. He would actually have to think before going in for the bite, an that though pissed him off to no end.

‘This better be damn well entertaining on my end.” the young kalona thought as he gave a scuff and carefully stepped towards the Kirin-Uni.

“What did you say now?”

Schizoid just gave a smirk and stared up at the bigger stallion.

“I wasn’t really paying much attention to your blah blah blahs and yack yack yacks. I THINK you did ask for my name though, but why should I hand it out to an hold guy who’s probably going senile or something? You must be as ancient as the mountains are tall.”

Gabriel eyed the other stallion some more shaking his mane as he listened with his growl getting a little higher with each word the other male said. He wasn't there to entertain the other. No that wasn't his purpose and why would he want to entertain someone he didn't even know that well? He gave a snort and huffed a bit digging his hoof further into the ground from agitation. For some reason this stallion was just picking at all the pressure points and urking him.

"Entertain? It's not something I do or will do. Why should you have fun on my behalf? There isn't much worth in that."

He told him flicking his tail behind him in slight aggravation at his rude attitude, but it was to be expected of a kalona. He didn't take much pride in how they were, but he didn't mind it most of the time. There was the occasional times where he would get pissed off by them though.

"Don't listen to me if you want..I could care less either way."

He shrugged and looked away from him, yawning lightly.

"Senile!?"

He glared at the stallion with a rage flicking his tail one more time behind him.

"I am far from senile and if you don't want to tell me your name then that is fine. It doesn't bother me and I honestly don't care one way or the other. I simply making idle chat, but obviously your just being difficult like most kalona."

He growled out at him with a snort as he looked away from him again eyeing the distance a bit. This kalona just made him angry all the time.

Schizoid couldn't help but smirk at the older stallion’s reaction to his last comment. Whether this male liked it or not, he was in fact entertaining the Kalona with his general anger and behavior, but he himself would never come right out and state that. At least not at the moment anyway. No. Things like this are best stringed along and played out carefully.
Yes, that would be his plan, if all went well. Maybe this one was best not torn apart like a prey item. Maybe this one was more of a target best taken down by mental and emotional tactics. What Kalona doesn’t love a good plan for a mental breakdown every once and a while? Schizoid might not have been the best choice for such a plot, but he could always try. And try he would.
Whether Gabriel liked it or not, Schiz was going to become his “Guardian Devil” of sorts. Yes, that sounded nice. He would stalk, poke, prod and scheme until the last string is plucked, and then he would drag the stallion into the depths of hell itself. Well, that or just keep him around as a toy. Either worked fine. …Would his father even let him keep another stallion as a pet? Hm…
Snorting, Schizoid shook his head and just let out an idle chuckle.
“Then why get mad, old man? If you know how Kalonas can be, then why let it bother you? Obviously you must care about SOMETHING I said, or you just have anger issues you need to work out for yourself. Why can’t you just be a nice old timer and learn to get along with me, hm?”
The young stallion gave a pout and stuck his tail between his legs.
“Maybe if you are nice enough I can walk you back home and tuck you in? Does that sound to you, hm? HM?”

Gabriel watched the kalona carefully still. He could tell just by how he acted that he was plotting something. Plotting something he probably wouldn’t like since everyone seemed to want to piss him off anymore.

“Why shouldn’t I get angry? First you call me senile and now your calling me an old man..I guess the only issue I have is being called old. I know how your kind can be and usually I don’t mind it, but for some reason…you know how to p***k at my buttons that make me angry.”

He snorted as he looked away from the younger stallion. Maybe he should try to get along with him? It couldn’t hurt right?

“Fine then I will try not to get too angry with you…You probably aren’t half as bad as you seem.”

He nodded to him as he kept his light blue eyes fixed on him.

‘Tuck me in?”

He glared at him seeing his pout wondering if he was joking around again since it was a little odd.

“I don’t care what you do as long as you don’t try to attack me.”

He shrugged and could that have been a mistake letting him know that?

If he could let out a stereotypical evil laugh right now, he would, but now was not the time. Maybe later on his way home would be best, but then again he might get weird looks from his family, but whatever. For now, tonight, his attention would be stuck on his new "friend". Though if the stallion was lucky maybe they could be friends of sorts. Annoying friends, but friends none the less.

With a grin on his face, Schizoid happily trotted closer to the other stallion and stared up at him like a puppy would look up to its owner when he or she came back home.

"Oh trust me, old man. I promise you won't regret this choice. I mean, I can't make any promises on not attacking you at times, but I promise to try my best. But then again, how much of a promise can a promise from a Kalona be, huh? It is like making a deal with a devil, right?"

Shrugging his own question off, Schizoid whipped his tail around and started to circle Gabriel like a hyper active child.

He watched the other circle him like a wild animal making him a little wary for a moment but there was something inside him that made him think he could trust this insane Kalona.

“That is true, but I feel if anything we can be valuable allies or friends…maybe depending how everything goes.”

He nodded to him seeing how he still continued to circle him making him flick his tail. He was uncomfortable and it was rare for Gabriel to feel that way about anything.

“So are you going to follow me around or just come and go as you please?”

He asked him curiously because he had several others stick to him like glue and it bothered him. Made him even more uncomfortable.
