Day 6: A Challenge!

The ring was open, waiting, for the next contestant. The undefeated champion stood at the side of the arena, cracking his knuckles in preparation for the next challenger.

“Come forth, undefeated duelist, Alpha the White!” Someone called from the entrance to the arena. Alpha looked up- he hadn’t been expecting someone so soon. “You are the town’s resident duelist, right? It’s not often nowadays that you hear of a take-all-comers kind of guy like you.” He already had his facemask on, but he couldn’t hide the sound of a smile in his voice. “I hear you spend your days beating anyone who dares take you on.”

“It’s what I do. Commerce center kind of bills me as an attraction, yeah?” Alpha grinned as he picked up his saber. “They figure that they can use unique attractions like me to draw in tourism and such, if not invite more people to stay.”

“Sounds like a plan. Well, then, shall we?” The challenger tucked his hands in his pockets. “I’m ready when you are.”

“Where’s your weapon? What style do you use?”

“I call it, style of the Crazed.” The challenger’s lilting voice made his smile sound only wider. Alpha realized the truth with a jolt.

“You… you’re…!”

“Yeah, yeah, yeah. You got it. I’m the one who’s been killing everyone. Just go about your business, silly man.” The Saboteur shrugged his shoulders. “Come, I’m here for a fair duel! Do your job!”

“Fine, then!” Alpha the White barked, scowling. “I’ll put a stop to you once and for all!” He lifted his blade, and both duelists stepped to the lines.

Alpha the White hadn’t accounted for the differences between himself and his opponent. He knew that while he wore his fencing armor, the Saboteur wore only a facemask. He thought that his saber, as dull as it was, could cut through his clothes. There was the one problem of what he didn’t account for: simple, conventional wisdom.

The second Alpha made his first move, the Saboteur pulled out a pistol and shot him through the head.

“Too easy.” The Saboteur wiped the weapon off on his shirt and tossed it onto Alpha’s body. “You never bring a sword to a gun fight.”

With much of the town’s evening entertainment eliminated due to senseless imprisonment, it had come down to a dance party at the town square hosted by the local disc jockey. Druki was blasting popular rock tunes and announcing guests, making dedica. He kept talking while changing discs, advertising for local hot spots. Druki was good at what he did, and he kept people happy.

That was, sadly, about to change.

The people dancing all stumbled when the music scratched to a halt and the speakers began to howl with feedback. They looked, and saw the two priests at the DJ booth. The old priest had unplugged the main radio system, and the young priest was arresting Druki.

“Satan’s music! Corrupter of the people!” The young priest snarled zealously. “It’s about time you were put away! It’s the will of the people!”

The people groaned. Another fun evening ruined by senseless arrests.

Hear ye, hear ye! The evening report is as follows!

Alpha the White lost his match- very badly!
Local DJ Druki has been arrested. All future dance parties are cancelled.

Saboteur, who’s your next victim?
Harlot, any plans to act?
Vigilante, time to save the day!

All roles must send their actions and requests by 10pm tomorrow night!
