The day its self was overcast, but that didn't seem to dampen the young Scents spirit as Ilex and her guardian Mirra made their way to The Gilded Lily for lunch that afternoon. It was one of the few days off that Mirra had in the past few weeks and the two had planned to make it a girls day out no matter what the weather. Though the pull of all those flowers in one spot was enough to make it an even better place to go as it would bring a bit of cheer to the day.
They arrived about a half hour before the lunch crowd would start to show up, slowly making their way through the different rows of flowers and chatting a bit between themselves. It wasn't often that a chance like this came up with Mirra working most of the time and the young Scent tried to not stray outside too much so as not to worry the woman.
About half way through they decided to stop for some lunch and finish looking at the flowers later... Ilex running to find a table for them as Mirra went to get in line and order.

Nearby a scrawny little tooth pick of a child was seen, wandering from table to table hand outstretched looking for something to eat. Her skin was pale and had almost a blue tinge to it, and her hair was shaggy and long with a blue-black color throughout. Her eyes were sunken in a little, most likely the result of malnutrition and sleep deprivation, and they looked glossed over as if she were barely gliding through her day in a conscious state.
Without much luck, Tevadi glided from table to table asking if the patrons were gonna finish this or if she could have that. She had gotten used to the dirty looks she was given by others as she begged for her food, promising to herself she wouldn't steal another crumb from others so long as the militia was still looking for her. They never bothered with those who begged as it was more the issue of the individual shop owners, but whenever someone was caught or reported stealing they'd come running. She certainly would have quite a hard time stealing from The Gilded Lily anyway, considering its reputation.
"Miss?" She said quietly, her tired voice carrying out lightly through the bustling conversation of the cafe, "If you're finished with that, may I have it?"
Despite her best efforts, Tevadi found herself faced with another unapologetic 'No', though its wording was much more crass. She sighed heavily, her shoes shuffling across the floor as she moved onto the next individual, receiving a similar response even before she managed to ask her question.
