Azar had been wandering around the duel rings for what seemed to be all morning. It wasn't too long but she wasn't very happy that there wasn't anyone around at the moment. She really wanted to duel. Probably more then anything else at the moment. She was itching for a good duel a good way to get some exercise and get some time to well... enjoyed what she liked the most. Since she had had her cubs they had grown large enough to be spending their own time with their teachers and Azar was ready to wander around and take a break from constantly having to worry about them, all of them were out with some one else and learning. So she on the other hand had to find something to do with herself.
She was close to heading home and doing nothing for the rest of the day, she was starting to get annoyed, it was morning time and some one in the pride had to be willing to duel. She had seen others around here and she knew that she did but as of where they were she wasn't even too sure either way she wasn't that happy about it. Was everyone lazy today!? This place was normally crawling with other lions prepared for a duel, was today just not her day? She wasn't even too sure.
She flopped down on her haunches near one of the sides of the rings, her tail was flicking around, she didn't know what to do with herself she wanted to say around a little bit longer. Oh she really hoped that some one would show up soon. She really did.

Aedan had found himself with a bit of spare time on his paws and not feeling the need to catch up on sleep or otherwise laze around he decided to take a stroll down by the dueling rings and see what was going on. The dueling rings could normally be counted upon for a bit of entertainment - either watching or participating and he hoped this morning would be no exception to this rule.
Upon arrival however he was a touch surprised to find the rings unoccupied, as far as he could see only one lioness was currently in the area so he headed in her direction "Seem's quiet today" He mentioned as he drew to a stop a few paces away. He didn't know this lioness - but that wasn't surprising he was still relatively new to the Pride and it was a rather large group. 'I'm Aedan" He introduced himself and because she looked a touch bored and he himself had nothing better to do he decided to offer a bit of entertainment "Were you looking for a duel perchance?"

Azar studied the male carefully. She had been in the pride for all of her life and she was pretty sure that she had never seen him before. She thought about it more before his voice int erupted her thoughts. "Yes, it's very slow today." She flicked her tail in a irritated fashion. Very obviously annoyed by that fact and she didn't know what he wanted but it annoyed her that he was talking to her. This was until he started to talk of duels.
She looked over and her eyes were bright and suddenly interested in what he wanted. She smirked before she nodded and spoke. "It is nice to meet you Aedan, I am Azar." She stated simply before pushing herself up onto her feet. She stared at him before nodding. "A duel sounds like on of the most interesting things heading my way right now." She smirked again before nodding her head to the male and backing up some. She was hoping that he was going to get the point.

Aedan got the impression that the female was annoyed with him in some fashion though he couldn't quite figure out why. In any case her entire demeanor changed when he mentioned a duel and without further adieu she was up and taking position. Aedan took a few paces back as well, eyes narrowing as he sized her up - she looked like a formidable enough opponent and he stalked about her in a circle, tail lashing from side to side as he watched her reactions..and searched for the opening he wanted in order to start this duel off.

Even though the lioness was getting impatient she never really enjoyed being the first strike in the duel. Because of this she was forced to wait. This part, the waiting, wasn't her favorite part but yet she knew that she had to deal with it. On the other hand she was starting to feel better she was goignt o duel and this excited her more than anything else. She flicked her tail around once more before pulling her lips back and curling them into a snarl. She was trying to egg him on and she was hoping that it was going to work.

Aedan paced around the lioness for what seemed like forever to his focused mind - but in reality was likely only a few moments, he waited until at long last he thought he saw his moment - her lips curled as she snarled at him, clearly trying to edge him into motion - and he had to wonder as he leapt forward to do just that if she'd expected him to react so very quickly. He covered the space between them in one large bound and slashed out with one swift forepaw with the intention of hitting her shoulder.
Of course this was only a friendly duel o he didn't attempt to cripple her as he might a true enemy..merely tag her solidly enough to make it matter and no more.

When he came at her and she felt the feeling of an impact on her shoulder she smirked. She turned quickly trying to figure out where he was going next and as he did she made sure to return the strike and return the hit to the shoulder. Now it was staring to get good and she really enjoyed that. This duel was really what she wanted.

the Lioness counter attack was well thought out and the force of the blow sent Aedan a bit off stride but rather then fight the stumble the dark lion used it to his advantage using the momentum of her trike to swing himself about and take a swipe at her hindquarters. He hoped to knock her over but baring that well..he'd gotten another tag in and he was pretty pleased with that.

The lioness did fall on her side, she struggled for a moment pushing herself up on her feet as quickly as possible before moving as fast as possible pulling herself up on her feet and moving as quickly as she could to the side. She didn't want to get caught off guard and once again she was off to the side.
She grumbled once again and pushed herself moving toward the side She stayed at a distance for a bit trying to figure out what she was going to do next, a smirk was on her face as she started to pace back and forth. She didn't know exactly what she wanted to do next but she was trying to calculate.

Ah so she had fallen Aedan was quite proud of himself for that and while the Lioness moved off to the side to consider her next move Aedan paced about before her looking for another opening through which to make another strike. The duel wouldn't last much longer he knew and it was important to make these last few moments count.

Azar flicked her tail around a few times as she watched the male moved some. She was trying her hardest to think about the next part but yet as she thought about it she paused and realized that she really shouldn't be over thinking it. She didn't want to think about it really, she just liked to act and she was going against that, she moved forward and reached out to slap him on the side with her paw but as she reached out she missed and moved back quickly with a grunt, hoping that he could avoid her next hit.
