Day 5: Heel, Face, Turn!
----------
“Turn, turn, step right, and turn,” Rasani instructed sternly. He clapped his hands to the beat of the music. “Keep on beat! Every time my hands clap, your feet must touch the floor!” The couples around him grumbled, as the ballroom dance teacher kept shouting instructions. “One, two, three, one, two, three- can’t a one of you do a simple waltz?!”

Rasani always found his evenings a challenge. It was difficult to teach a crowd of yokels to dance classically! It seemed odd that anyone at this distance from civilization was even interested in ballroom dance. It seemed like they may as well have been square-dancing to “Cotton-Eye Joe” rather than listening to him. However, he knew that it was necessary for him to be in this place. “Alright, ladies and gents, let’s take five!” He turned the music off, and the couples all groaned and took seats on benches, rubbing their feet and complaining bitterly. This was what he needed.

“So, have you heard…”

“Did you hear?”

“I gotta tell you what I heard…”

He loved to listen to them. He needed to hear every sweet bit of gossip that dripped off their tongues, if only so he could spread it himself. Like butter on toast. It was delicious. Even more, he’d found a use for his proclivities.

“I heard a little whisper about that Saboteur fella…” Rasani edged closer when he heard these words. This was what he was looking for. He had to hear… “Hey, teacher, you curious too?” The student grinned. “Come on, I’ll whisper it in your ear…” The student leaned closer, pulling his kerchief from his front pocket to cover his mouth. He leaned close, and these were the words Rasani heard as he put the cloth over his mouth: “Does this smell like chloroform to you?”

Rasani woke up much later, tied down to a steel platform with cables. “So, you like to listen to Gossip, eh?” The Saboteur grinned at him.

“You- it’s you!” Rasani gasped. “I… I should have known! I should have known!”

“Yes, you probably should have.” The Saboteur pulled a knife out. “And you know what I like to do, of course. It just seems so ridiculous, everything going peacefully. Everyone doing their job. It’s boring. Now, you won‘t be able to do your job anymore.”

He jabbed the knife into Rasani’s ear and twisted it. Rasani screamed, but the Saboteur cackled. “All the better to hear, Gossip!” He jabbed it into Rasani’s other ear, causing him to writhe and cry as blood trickled from his brain. “Can you hear it now? Can you hear every vile word you whisper?”

“Stop! Stop!” Rasani wailed. “I can’t… I won’t!”

“No, no, silly boy. It’s not just your job to hear the gossip, but to spread it.” The Saboteur’s mad grin made Rasani’s blood run cold. “How would you like a bigger mouth?”

When they found Rasani, he’d been cut from ear to ear across his lips, and new lips had been carved into his body. Despite his appearance, the Gossip would never say another word.
---------------------------------------------
They rushed into the library on fleet feet, their cloaks billowing behind them like bats’ wings. They saw him, hunched over his desk, drooling a bit, with a blank look on his face.

“You!” The young priest shouted as he skidded to a halt. “Possessed by a demon, just like the Reaper!”

“Wha-huh?” Ichihollow9 mumbled as he lifted his head. “I just fell asleep. What time is it?”

“Time for you to go to confession, demon,” the young priest declared. “We will exorcise you and punish you for your crimes?”

“What crime? I was reading. Since when is intelligence a crime?” Ichihollow moaned as the old priest handcuffed him.

“Since forever.” The young priest glared sternly at him. Another moment of quiet contemplation had been ruined by blind fools.
-------------------------------------------------
Oye, oye! The evening report is as follows!

The Gossip, Rasani, has been eliminated!
Ichihollow9 has been punished for no good reason!

Saboteur, your next kill?
Harlot, time to make your move!
Vigilante, it’s time to decide who’s right and who’s left!

Word on the street goes that the Saboteur has been heard to say “Black and Blue has such a wonderful tune." In addition, the Vigilante has said “I’m not one for numbers." Can these hints help determine their identities?

All roles must send their actions and requests by 10pm tomorrow night!
All votes must be in by 11pm EST!
And all’s well!

(Saboteur: since the Gossip is gone, you need only send in clues every four days. Vigilante, you may as well do the same thing since the Harlot hasn’t spoken to me once since the game began. Pity that people can‘t seem to do their jobs.)

Well, seeing as I'm going to be defending against a whole load'a sheepin', looks like I, #7, KeJoRo, vote for #18, Druki. Besides, I think the Dave clue does fit Druki fairly well anyway.
