Angry.
It didn't seem to be a strong enough word for how Super Sailor Chaonis was feeling. It made everything seem petty, insignificant. Like he could just watch some TV and eat some ice cream and everything would be better. Saying he was angry made him feel like he was being condescended to, by everyone around him, by himself.
He hated being condescended to.
His father told him he was going through a phase. He said he knew what it was like, he had been in the same place when he was Nate's age. He said it would pass, and Nathan would become something, would find himself and be who he was meant to be. Was that supposed to be comforting? Reassuring? Some kind of sagely advice Nate should be thankful for? Because to him it sounded like bullshit. Tony giving him the brush off, like he always did, so he could go focus on other people and be the nice guy for everyone else, the guy people confided in and gave goddamn puppies to. The guy that adored Senshi and felt so compelled to help them.
But was oblivious to the one living in his house. Tony didn't care about him.
And he didn't care about Tony. At least not tonight. Tonight, Chaonis didn't care about anything beyond finding something else to punch. He was sitting on a bench, watching the darkness settle, just waiting for something evil to crawl out of where ever it was they slithered. Youma. Nega. Whatever.
He sat there, staring forward, one hand resting just below his shoulder on the other side, where he had a bandaged wound from a previous fight. Still fairly fresh. The moment he felt something, the second something moved, he would leap into a much needed fight. It was the only way he knew how to relax.
And now he had a chip on his shoulder: something to prove to himself.

So far, Pollux was considering the work of being a senshi not really worth the reward. Cops would open fire without hesitation, people would run away, calling him a terrorist, a monster, a bane, a blight upon the city. And just what had he done? Nothing. Nothing but spare their ungrateful lives from things that would sooner take them away. Hardly worth the effort he was going through. Getting less sleep, getting hurt in faulty jumps, getting into scraps with monsters from his own worst nightmares. So far, being a senshi was a thankless job. But somebody had to do it. Like a mop, and a broom, no one wants a thankless job.
Pollux, gruff and rather annoyed he'd let Elzo's pushy nature drive him to henshin and go out, was just running. If he saw something he'd act. But right now, running, for the sake of running, was easing some of tension, some of his angst. Running down the roads, blue eyes picked up a sight he'd not yet encountered before. Another male senshi. And not one his brother had described if looks were anything to go by. "Hey." Pollux stopped his running and tried to suck in his frustrations with his brother...and his current feelings about going out and around looking for ways to die in the wet and cold spring night. "You stick in one spot your bound to get attacked." He shrugged. "At least that is what I'm told happens."

Chaonis turned his head at the voice, fists clenched. He stood, eying the arrival darkly. Another senshi. He had already forced himself into confusion by attacking someone who didn't deserve it, but perhaps that wasn't exactly what had him so conflicted. It wasn't that the guy had been a civilian: he knew him, and didn't like him. If Chaonis had been powered down, hitting the guy would have been more than justified. The problem really was that civilians couldn't fight back when randomly attacked by pissed off senshi.
Other senshi, however...
"How long do you think that takes?" He asked, cracking his knuckles. He tilted his head to the side, a devilish grin creeping across his face. Oh yes, this was decided. He was going to have fun with this guy, whether he knew it or wanted it. He was a senshi, after all.
And a newbie. What better way to break in a newbie than give him a battle? See, now Chaonis felt like he was doing good, for the betterment of their kind. Or not. He didn't care, either way.
"How long you have to sit around in the same spot before you get attacked, I mean. Thirty seconds?" And then he stood and waited, counting it in his head, tapping his finger up and down against the rest of his fist as he did so. At thirty, he charged forward, pulling his arm back and swinging for the other male senshi's face.

Pollux shrugged, eyes flicked down the the tensing muscles, the curling fists. Great. He'd been told not to pick fights but tonight a fight was being picked with him. Normally he'd brush it off or ignore it. Normally, he'd walk away. Sadly, normal kind of put on a troll face and ditched him a long time ago. He was just going to have to deal with it. "I like to think it would happen rather quickly." A step back. He just wanted one night he could go home not regretting something. Served him right for listening to talking cats.
"Less time less mess after all. Also less work and-" He didn't have time it seemed, as fist caught him on the side, jolting whatever thoughts he had. Knocking him to the side, Pollux went down hard, having not taken the other senshi seriously. Castor had been right. Being a senshi didn't mean they wouldn't hesitate to attack him. Mental cursing his brother, Pollux stood, or rather he would have stood.
Instead he opted to just screw it.
He dove for the other senshi's waist.

Chaonis was feeling better already.
Not great yet, but a few more hits like that should do it.
"It's better not to think: just act," he grinned, watching as Pollux got himself to his feet. It was unclear if he was trying to offer the new senshi some advice, or if he was just being a d**k in a condescending way. Unclear if one did not know the Senshi of Danger, at any rate. He wasn't much on the advice front: learn by doing, and all that.
He had to admit, he was impressed when the other senshi made to tackle him, caught off guard in his gloating and falling backwards with the momentum of the attack.
"Hey!" He growled, as if he were the only one allowed to do the actual fighting around here. He swung his fists, not yet calling his attack but still using his strength as best he could. It was a scuffle, and he tried to get a grip on one of Pollux's arms, so he might slip away and behind him and wrench it backwards.

Pollux regret taking the night off. Just one night could he not end up brused or in pain or sleep deprived? No? Lovely. He'd be sure to do this more often universe, after all, looking like living death was soooo fun. NOT. Growling, Pollux was trying to go for the face. Get the jaw, the nose, and eye. Maybe KO if he was lucky. To bad 'luck' and 'senshi' was 99% never going to happen. "******** hell, you just fight any guy that you run across?" A grip on his arm and Pollux was rolling. Or trying to roll anyway. Kind of hard unless he wanted to dislocate his arm. Which would have thrown a serious damper on his week. "Don't make me ice you." Oh, now didn't that sound scary.
So young, so utterly fail in trash talking for a senshi.

Choanis grinned broadly, though he kept his attention on the fight more than the banter. Banter was one of his favorite things, but he also enjoyed not getting punched in the face or kicked in the balls (though, at least he had some protection built into his get up for the latter). He had already gotten tackled, and he wasn't about to let his attention waver again.
Senshi were supposed to be the tough guys around here, after all. He almost liked fighting them better, despite being on their team and having no problem with them beyond a bad first impression or purposefully picking fights for the sake of it. He considered the negaverse comprised of wusses, while his own side of the fence were simply better by comparison.
Once Pollux was moving, Chaonis made to pull in the opposite direction, trying to yank the other senshi's arm behind his back.
"Ice me. Wow. I certainly wouldn't want that," he laughed, though he was puffing from the exertion of the scuffle. "There's no Smirnoff around here though, bro."

Okay. 'Don't make me ice you' was going down as his first official fail as a senshi. In fact this battle was so far looking like 'How does Pollux learn to suck: A lesson in life. Grunting from under another menshi, at best Pollux figured they looked like they were two dudes having some kind of college drunk induced bad idea. Or a gay porno demo. he hoped the fact they were fully clothed just made it look like it was drunk frat boy bad idea.
"Truth be told I prefer something more refined, that aside-" Pollux was face first in dirt. He was struggling under another menshi. His arm hurt. What was a little ice magic? "Chilling Storm." The monotone voice gave notice as the air chilled and the crack of ice began to form around and on them. Frost covering bare skin and doing just what Pollux's attack stated. Chilled.
Pollux's struggling slowed, as bad idea highlight of the night took form of casting his attack on not just his new enemy, but on himself as well. Unable to see his target, he just wanted to be let go. End result was the focus of the frost spreading outward was the hands grasping his arm. In his mind, the second the air got colder, removing the energy and heat from the air to allow his attack, all Pollux could think was how this was going to suck. That, and how after, he was going to take a warm shower and then sleep with five blankets. For a senshi with an ice sphere, he still loathed the cold.

Chaonis was caught by surprise when he heard the senshi call his attack. Or it seemed he did, though 'call' wasn't the right word for it. Not that all senshi had to make sure everyone within a ten block radius heard them broadcasting their kick a** attacks like Chaonis usually did.
When the ice started to collect, the Senshi of Danger's first instinct was to get away from Pollux and get away from the attack. That, however, seemed unlikely.
"What the ********, dude!" he bellowed, his tone sounding betrayed and annoyed. Like they had just been goofing off before, and Pollux had clearly crossed some kind of line that tackling and punching, and picking the fight in the first place as Chaonis did, had not. The innocent party, suddenly being inconveniently cold and with a thin layer of ice clinging to his fingers. He shook his hand repeatedly, thrown off by the sharp sting of cold.
No one had ever attacked his hands before, and it sparked some panic in him. Without those, he wasn't exactly useful.
He glared at the other senshi, offering a swift, grumpy kick in response to that attack.
"Not cool, man. My fingers aren't going to fall off, right?"

Groaning at the fact he was now in pain, cold, and frankly, not looking forward to the fact when he moved he'd be in more cold and pain, Pollux bit back as the foot collided. Kick a guy when he'd down. So cold Chaonis. So cold. Slow and a tad slugging, the hail senshi was getting up at a snail's pace, joints stiff and skin covered in goosebumps.
"No." Half standing, Pollux used a cement block for support. "It is like any other ice, it'll melt. It's just cold as ********." Sniffling, he rubbing his arm, little flecks of ice falling to the ground. "Now, any reason why you just felt like attacking me or is this what I should expect from all senshi?"

Chaonis did not seem to really mind the fact that he kicked someone when they were down. It was a street fight, after all. All was fair, and he was not going to stop and think about his impulses. If his guts told him to fight dirty, or break some unwritten rule (or written one), then he was going to.
And have fun with it.
Shaking his hands some more, stuffing them where he could to warm them up a bit, between his chest and his armor plate, he glared at the newer senshi indignantly. With a snort, he offered a cocky, sideways grin, eyes flashing with amusement.
"I was looking for a fight, and you gave me one. I thought you would, too. Not going to start bitching about it, right? I didn't hurt you, and you got to use that attack of yours. Consider it free training." His definition of hurt, of course, was broken bones and not being able to stand. Pollux had neither of these symptoms, and was thus not hurt.
Breathing heavily, but slowly in an effort to calm his heart, he eyed the other senshi critically for a long moment, then nodded his head as if he decided something.
"Not bad for a newbie."

This guy would get along well with his brother. Cocky, fighting for the sake of fighting, and brushing off formalities and just- ugh. Pollux, punching bag eternal. It might as well be his new status name. Senshi of the mysterious bruises he'd have to explain to his co-workers and hide in yet another office meeting. Thank god work meant formal wear. He'd never get by with casual, or without a pack of ibuprofen in his pocket.
Flexing his joints, Pollux was at least glad he would only need one pill in all likelyhood tonight. Well, that and no youma dust was on him. God he hated youma dust almost more than he hated the youma. A glare given to Chaonis and the frost senshi considered where to aim next time. If there was a next time and given the look from the other guy? There would be. "I don't b***h." He did but with his expression. He b***h faced at Chaonis. He b***h faced so hard you could tell he might have even practiced his b***h face. That was how much Pollux was b***h facing at Chaonis.
"I would just think you'd give a fair warning to...such training methods. " Blue eyes narrowed. "But your compliment is appreciated and-" he was reluctant to say it, "-so is the practice." There, he admitted it. He needed practice brawling. Just don't jump him like that. Even if that was pretty much what any youma or negaverser would have done. Nope, Pollux wasn't going to admit that part, ever.

Chaonis grinned at the look the other male senshi was working so hard to give.
Now that was some serious b***h face.
"Hey, there's no warning in a fight. I mean, sure, some of those dumbass negas stand around and talk before they fight, but some of them have enough brains to actually swing first and gloat later."
Plus, he had wanted to hit something. He couldn't forget that. Cover it with a free fighting lesson all he wanted, he still had gotten out of it a good stress relief. He did like that the effort was appreciated, though, and nodded his head. He wasn't much to admitting he needed, or wanted, practice or training, either. Two like minds, it seemed the fight had, in its way, at least been useful to them in different ways.
"Well," he took out his phone and made to get the other senshi's information, as he was now more inclined to do than he had been in the past. Recently he had been running into a few newer senshi, and 'helping' them in his special way. Never hurt to make contacts to drag into messes later. "It's been a blast, but the party's dying down now. Keep your guard up, though. Never know when another lesson might come."
He grinned at that.

Somewhere in the back of Pollux's subconsciousness, he hoped Chaonis appreciated the level of bitchfing the senshi of hail was giving. Because it was extreme bitchface. A bitchface of 'I hate the fact you helped me in a way I should be used to given both my time at Hillworth and my blood relations.' A bitchface for the ages. You were getting it Chaonis. Pollux was giving it to you hard and you would take and by god you would like it. But Pollux was unaware of his subconscious thoughts however, all he realized was that his facial muscles had begun to hurt so he should stop bitchfacing. Another day it might resume but even Pollux figured that was enough intense bitchfacing for one night.
"You're not a negaverse agent." Stated captain obvious. "Or a criminal mastermind." Eyes still narrowed and glared. "For that I am glad. I suppose being jumped by-" a pause, " an ally if better than being jumped by an enemy." Watching the older senshi scan him down prompted Pollux to do the same. "I feel like this is a bad rendition of Star Trek." Muttered comment aside Pollux nodded. "I'll try to be more alert. Or at least more wary of people sitting around idle." A small smile. "Good luck to Chaonis." Step by hobbling step Pollux was going to go home and pop a few pain killers. Bruises would heal in a day or so. "And...thank you."

Chaonis watched the other for a long moment, wondering just how long he could keep that expression on his face before cracking or 'getting it stuck that way'. Then there would be a moment of panic in his eyes when he tried to look normal, and couldn't. But the old warnings from some TV idea of grandma did not come to pass, and the other senshi finally stopped with the b***h face.
In a way, it had been impressive.
"Well, that's good," Chaonis said, "you can tell the very clear Other Senshi from the bad guys. There's some hope for you." He grinned again and nodded his head.
That was definitely one of the stronger newbies he had run into lately, and that was a good sign. He immediately knew he would be keen on having a rematch later, when Pollux got more used to the swing of being powered up and fighting. Sure, they weren't enemies, but that didn't mean he couldn't initiate another friendly spar some time.
Probably a surprise!friendly spar.
"You too, man. Don't sweat it. And chill out! We're superheroes! We should be enjoying this s**t." That was more a comment for himself, having been reminded that he didn't need to be grumpy or fight starts with others. Or at least, not start fights out of misplaced aggression, but for other reasons was fine. He waved over his shoulder and moved to head off, maybe for patrol, maybe to go find himself some food.
Or most likely, go home and sleep.
