The Restricted Library ▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅ ▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅ ▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅ – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – There was a particular reason Quillan was pacing around in the front corridor of the Slytherin Common Room. However, if anyone asked, and many did, about what he was so anxious about, Quill would mumble, rant, and preach a little, and not long afterwards, his Slytherin roommates would slip away. Each time they did, he beckoned himself to calm down. Even though they were on the same team, practically in the same family, for that matter, he sincerely doubted that any Slytherin wouldn't jump at the chance to rat him out. He knew this for a fact, after all, he had been living with them for quite some time now. Other than that particular notion of trust-issues, everyone in Slytherin were mighty-fine people, hilarious ones, without a doubt. Really, Quill couldn't imagine where they got such a horrible reputation.
Well... actually, he could. But Quill ushered those thoughts away from him. But beside those rotten apples, they were a good crowd. Very ambitious. In fact, he was certain a few of them would join him on his midnight dash to the Restricted Library Wing if he had whispered to them about it. Matter of fact, if he managed to get everyone involved, there would be no chance of any Slytherin rattin' them out--and Liam and he could use the back-up. But no, no, no. There was too much of a risk, so Quill kept his mouth tightly sealed and waited for Liam's signal: four knocks, a pause, and then two more knocks.
As he waited, patience running awry, Quillan couldn't help but hope that Liam wouldn't get too much trouble from the Bloody Baron, the Slytherin ghost. He was a scary man, that Baron, but almost like a teddy bear if someone happen to look at him sideways, eyes squinted, after drinking one of the Potion Professor's concoctions. However, Bloody Baron didn't take very kindly to anyone besides Slytherins, and Liam was not.
In fact, Liam was Ravenclaw. And another fact, Quillan didn't even know of his existence until earlier this morning. However, he recognized the look in Liam's eyes when they heard the rumor--the one about the Animagus spell in the Restricted Library Wing. They had lighted up and it was almost as if his ears had perked up like a cat's. Liam and he noticed each other quickly, and within seconds, they conjugated together. And within minutes, they had devised a plan to sneak into the Restricted Library Wing.
He was a cool kid, that Liam. Quill was proud to know him--now only if he'd hurry up....

Liam felt very much like the muggle hero James Bond that his Dad liked to talk about. Sneaking down corridors and hiding in the shadows, now he just needed a pretty lass and a Walther PPK, whatever that is. James Bond was a spy and apparently a very good one. His father liked reading the muggle novels about him.
Liam didn't know Quill very well but they were both obviously avid adventurers and that was enough for him. Quill told him the locationsof the Slytherin common room so he could come get him when the coast was clear for thier adventure. The idea of having the ability to change into an animal and escape sticky situations sounded amazing! As Liam wandered the halls looking for Quills landmark directions his thoughts also wandered, to what animal would suit him. He knew the basic ideas of becoming an animagus, like you don't choose your animal. It chooses you, much like how a wand chooses its wizard. Hmmm I wonder if there is a connection between the two, a kind of magic. I'll research it tommorow at the library.
Liam finally noticed the final direction from Quill and turned down the corridor. Noticing a translucent figure at the end of the hall, Liam turned and flattened himself again the stone wall. Looking back down the hall the figure was gone
I just hope that wasn't that bloody ghost the "Bloody baron", haha that is funny! I'll have to tell Quill that one!
He finally reached the secret door to the Slytherin common rooms and knocked the special knock. *knock knock knock knock.............Knock Knock*

There it was. The glorious four knocks, a pause, and two more knocks. It was a wondrous two-second to Quillan's ears! His feet pushed against the chair he was perched on and he sprung into the hair, landing several feet closer to the entrance. By now, no one was bothering to question is peculiar behavior. They had enough with his pacing, mumbling, and bellows. In fact, just as Quill made a move towards the door, the last group of Slytherin's, fourth years, dissipated from the room.
And then, Quill was out in a flash.
Right outside of his door waited Liam. Even in the dead of night Quill could see his new friend's bright locks (that was another reason Quill was so easily friends with Liam. They bonded, both gingers... They could understand the plight of being a genetic mutation! But that's a sob story for another time) in the shallow light from the moon. Again, Liam's eyes were twinkling. Mischief was most definitely on their agenda tonight. Target: Animagus spell.
Quillan didn't even have to ask Liam if he had all the supplies. Within the few hours that he knew the boy, Quill began to trust him like a brother--and no brother of his would forget anything when performing illegal activities. "This way..." Quill ushered, knowing that Liam was unfamiliar with this side of the tower for mostly Slytherins wander here.
They tip-toed down the passages, relatively undisturbed until they came across the hallway leading to the Library. Just barely, Quill could hear soft footsteps. Within seconds, he had scuttled into a corner, hurrying Liam to do the same. "I think it's a cat..." Quill explained, scampering down another hallway. Whether he just imagined the sounds or not, they didn't want to take the chance. What would it be, fifty points from both of their houses? He supposed they at least had each other once both of their houses were ostracizing them. Quietly, he slowed his pace and looked behind him, making sure Liam was still following him down. After all, he realized only seconds ago, he hadn't confirmed his presence since they met at the Slytherin entrance.

Liam had followed his new Slytherin friend down the dungeon hallways and up a staircase that lead them to the floor where the library was. "Its defiantly a cat Quill, but not to worry I got these last time I was at Diagon Alley." He pulled out two small charmed mice toys filled with catnip. "I've got a cat and they love these, cats will just chase and play with them for hours. It should give us enough time." he set the charmed toys on the ground and watched as they realistically scurried along the wall, down the hallway towards the cat. Liam stuck his head out and watched as the cat chased the toy mice down another hallway.
"All clear! Come on!" he motioned them forward with his hand. Liam reached the ancient door and pulled out a small can of oil, he greased the hinges before opening the door and slipping inside. "Clear!" he whispered to Quill. Once inside the two boys stared in wonder at the huge library. Shaking himself out of it he turned to Quill and said, "All right snap outta it mate, weve got a prime directive to accomplish tonight!" he gave him a smile and you could've sworn you saw a twinkle in the young boys eye.

"Brilliant," Quillan smirked, watching Liam muster two mice from his pocket. Once free from Liam's grasp, they scattered, their scuttling immediately taking the attention of the cat. With one fowl meow, the cat was gone, running rampant after the two charmed mice. As he observed this scene, he couldn't help but feel proud of Liam. This kid was like his long lost brother! But Quillan couldn't help but be a bit peeved--why hadn't he thought of those mice?! I'll just have to try better next time! Quillan thought, his determination reviving easily.
Trekking down the hallway, it wasn't long until they reached the library door. Again, Liam worked his magic, this time with some lamp oil, and the door opened. I would've just used Alohomora... what's wrong with me? Alohomora was the easy way in! And as practical as that was, smothering the door with fuel was much more fun!
Quillan scampered in after Liam. "It should be in the Foribidden Section, right? That's in that section, I believe." Quillan pointed out, as he did, he moved towards the cluster of shelves. "Lumos," he whispered, and his wand lit up, flooding the room with a blue-ish hue.
"This way--now, what would the book be titled...?" Quillan wondered aloud, walking into one of the aisle of books. "Surely, this will not be easy... Entertaining, but not easy--what would you want to turn into, Liam? When we're animagus..."

Liam followed his new friend into the restricted section of the library, scanning the shelves with his eyes. Taking a que from Quill he lit his wand, "Lumos" he said softly. "Marcrovs guide to Magical Maladies...no, A Guide to the Dark Acult...no, Auntie's Cookbook of Poison Pastries... definatly not.... ah what about this one mate, The Art and Science of Animagi. Pretty straight forward." he looked at Quill as he pulled the book from the shelf.
Liam opened the book, obviously it hadn't been used in a long time. On the inside cover there was a few signatures, well hardly more like nicknames. "Seems the last time someone cracked this thing open was in the 1970s." he whispered to his new friend and handed the book over to him. "Seens legit, what do you think? Should be use a copying spell or just nick the book?"

"Beautiful," Quillan observed, watching Liam pull the book, The Art and Science of Animagi. It was breathtaking--and extremely shady looking. Was that teeth marks on the side of the book? Though already disturbed, Quillan did his best to overlook the... uh... more grotesque parts of the book and focus on the context inside. "Hm... though it may be a hassle, I think we should copy it. Just taking the book could set off an alarm-, even if it doesn't, they'll eventually find out it's gone... However, a copying spell could piss the book off--you never know what charms have been placed on these babies... Though it may be a hassle, I think we should find another way to copy this... By hand... DAMN! If only we had one of those nifty Muggle copying-machines..."
Quillan sighed, what could they do to copy the book without setting off some sort of alarm? "Or... we might be able to find out a way to figure out if there are any alarms... LIAM! Do you think we could come back another night? We should've figured this stuff out before..." Quillan elaborated, leaning up against the bookshelf. It took him a few seconds to believe it, but behind him, he felt the bookshelf shifting. A bit panicked, he whipped to face behind him to find the shelf leaning.
"OH--" Quillan muffled his voice and he lunged to keep the bookshelf in place.
