Will walked slowly up to the large doors that led to the Great Hall. No matter how many times he looked at these doors, he would always feel a bit intimidated. He pushed the left door a little, and it opened quietly. Will smiled and walked to the middle left table, sitting down. He pulled out his book, The Dream Oracle, by Ingo Imago and flipped to his bookmark near the middle of the book. He helped himself to some cornish pasties and salad, turning to read his book while he ate.

Quillan normally didn't have trouble sitting by himself, in fact, he had been drooling on the table not too long ago. However, when the giant doors to the Great Hall opened, the noise immediately knocked Quill out of his sleep. In a daze, he glowered at the boy entering. Way to knock... Quillan thought to himself, picking himself off the table. A string of drool followed his face up a few feet before it attached itself to his face and the rest dripped to the table. After finding a napkin, he pressed it to his face, removing all the drool, and then pressed it down to the table. When he looked up, the sight before him puzzled him.
"Do you have a test next class?" Quill inquired, taking the damp napkin and throwing it into the trash. It was only afterwards that he realized he could have just used magic to get rid of the drool. He shrugged at the thought. It was too late now!
His eyes lingered on the Ravenclaw boy, he seemed to be a first-year, just like Quill. And he hoped, sincerely, that this boy had some sort of a test. Who actually read books in their spare time, nowadays? It seemed like such an archaic pass-time.
