Waking up was not an especially pleasant experience. He felt as though... Well, he felt as though he had been lacerated by a multitude of razor sharp seeds, and flung at high velocity into a giant mechanical Ariados. It was a unique feeling, and he saw no point in trying to liken it to anything else. Although he was awake opening his eyes seemed too difficult just now; everything ached, or throbbed, or both. On balance he supposed he was glad that the painkillers had worn off, but still. Owch. His first major mission too. At least he had been somewhat useful and it had been a success; being injured probably wouldn't count against him too much. Well, it would keep him from doing anything else interesting any time soon, and not being out and about getting noticed would count against him, but -
Something was touching his hand, and it wasn't Skiron.
Frost jerked away, his pale eyes snapping open; who the heck was...? Xander. He must have stayed all night. What was the point in him doing that? He had made it clear to his roommate that he was free to leave whenever he wanted, or at least he thought he had. Perhaps not.

He didn't want to wake up any times soon. Not because of pain or anything of the sort but because he was in the middle of a good, if bizarre dream. But the movement on his lap 'Conrad?' and movement under his hand 'Wha-?' was bringing him out of it. The first thing he was aware of other then the movements was that he was slumped in a very uncomfortable chair, then there was the smell of the medical wing that was next. Piecing that together he knew he was in the medical and had stayed while with someone.
Then them memories of yesterday 'It was only yesterday?' came to him and it hit him that he was still holding Frost's hand...and said man might be awake given the movement... 'Pretend your asleep or move your hand way in a stretch like you didn't even realize it was there?' Ah the dilemma's of trying not to freak out your roommate while your head was still a bit fuzzy from just waking up.

It seemed as though Xander was asleep still, and so Frost took the chance to get his hand out from under the other grunt's before he did awake. Humm. Had the young man somehow ended up moving to touch his hand whilst asleep, or had the hand been there all night? He didn't know what to make of that possibility. It made him feel deeply uncomfortable to know that he might have been touching another person for so long, but it was also... Sweet? Something like that. If he had stayed here all night holding his hand Xander obviously cared about him, and that was... well it was nice. Humans were programmed to be social, and even he retained some of that programming. It was hard not to be pleased when you knew somebody cared about you.

It seemed Frost was definitely awake. Alexander was both grateful and sad when the other man moved his hand away. He let out a very soft sigh that was hopefully too low for Frost to hear then pretended to start waking up. Once he was 'awake' he looked over at Frost and gave a smile. "Good morning, how are you feeling?" Of course half of that question was really, 'Were you ok with me touching you and can I do it again sometime.' but it was still aimed at his injuries too.

"I feel as though I have been lacerated by a multitude of razor sharp seeds, and flung at high velocity into a giant mechanical Ariados," Frost said wearily, thus repeating aloud what he had thought on first waking. "While I am in pain, however, he feel far more coherent than I did last night. I must thank you again for your patience with me." And for staying all night in a chair that did not look especially comfortable. He wasn't sure if he wanted to add that bit. It wasn't really all that different to thanking the grey-eyed man for getting him here he supposed and yet... and yet it was. It was different because it was connected to Xander touching his hand, which was causing internal confusion and conflict. Even if he was not in control he liked to give the appearance of being in control, and as such it made sense for him to avoid topics like that. Perfect sense.
On the end of Frost's bed Skiron stirred slightly before blinking awake, and raising his head with a yawn. Ah, of course, the medical bay. Turning to look at the pair of humans, the ice type chirruped good morning. His trainer looked rather better than he had last night, much more colour in his face. Good. This time he was going to make sure the man stayed here until the doctors were actually happy to let him go; he didn't want to see him get worse and nearly pass out in the middle of the cafeteria again.

Alexander managed to not chuckle at Frost description but couldn't help the small smile. "Well at least you don't feel like what happened was added on to. Need me to get the medics to give you some mild pain relievers? I now there are a few that don't greatly effect your coherency. After all I made sure to take those ones when I had the damaged leg." he offered and hopped Frost would at least consider it. "Your welcome." Having patience is what friends are for after all but he wasn't going to say that, it would sound just a bit to sappy for the morning. He shifted and, careful not to bump Conrad off his lap, twisted to pop his back a few times. The chairs were obviously not meant to sleep in.
Conrad woke from the mixture of movement and talking. He sleepily blinked and looked around before chirruping hello to everyone. He would be more awake in a minute but for now the Eevee was too relaxed to be his normal hyper self.

"Mmfh," Frost made a small dismissive gesture with one hand, "no thank you. So long as I remain horizontal it is tolerable. I may accept something when I need to get up though." He imagined that he would be ejected from the medical bay once somebody had come around and made sure there was no internal bleeding and that his ribs were still well strapped. While he welcomed the idea of getting out, he was aware that moving around would be extremely unpleasant if he refused to take any kind of pain reliever at all...
He remembered something Xander had said on the raid now, something he had never addressed in the midst of the action. It might seem a little late now, but it would be rude to never reply at all. "Thank you," Frost said after a moment, "for your compliment that is. About Persephone. I know I am rather behind the times in responding, but I was preoccupied at the time."

"If you say so Frost." At least the man was willing to take some once he moved. Alexander gave a small smile and pet Conrad while wondering when a doctor or nurse would swing by to check on Frost. He looked back at his roommate when he started to talk and his small smile widened in thought of the pretty ghost. "Your quite welcome. Of course you do realize I will want to take another look at her." he chuckled. "Completely understandable about being preoccupied as we all were at the time."

"Of course," Frost twitched a momentary smile, "I would be pleased to introduce you to her. She isn't entirely homicidal... Well, she is, but she recognizes that if she harms my allies she will be sealed in her pokeball and not allowed out to wreak havoc on the world. Mmh. If you do find her very attractive, perhaps when the labs are looking for a new breeding project I could volunteer her and get you an egg." Offering to do favours/give presents was something that friends did for one another, it was important to remember such things... Oh, that was a good point. "When is your birthday?"
If pokemon were not easily obtainable he could get him... Oh, an interesting book? Maybe some nice stationary? Those sounded like nice presents to him, but he would have to keep thinking. It didn't quite occur to Frost that Xander might not have the same tastes in gifts as he did. While he was aware that the young man was very different to him, his grasp of people's desires and feelings didn't quite stretch to realizing that these differences would mean he would like to receive different presents. This could perhaps be partially blamed on still feeling rather groggy, but even on his best days Frost would never be the man who bought the perfect present, unless you told him exactly what it was that you wanted.

Oh. Xander made a few mental notes in his head; one, Frost was cute when he was slightly out of it and rambley, and two, he really needed to think over just why the older man's smile just gave him the feeling of butterflies in his stomach. He had to squash down a blush and gave Frost a return smile. "So she's a little trouble maker huh? Sounds like you have your work cute out for you in taking care of her." Ok now he knew for sure he had also been drugged the night before as he had the urge to ramble his self. "That would be fantastic if you could do that but if not I would be more then happy to just interact with her."
"Ah, my birthday is January 6th, when is yours?" Come to think of it he had spent his nineteenth birthday on a mission for Team Rocket. Looking at Frost he wondered what kind of gifts he liked. 'Most likely books, new projects to tinker with and possibly new clothes.' Xander thought to his self.

"Well... She could be said to be a trouble maker in the same way that Team Rocket could be said to have mild disregard for minor laws," Frost said after a moment. "She is... Bad. Rotten to the core. If sealing those spirits in the keystone was supposed to show them the error of their ways, it failed. Perhaps it works sometimes. I could not say... Birthday," the pale-eyed man frowned slightly, looking up at the ceiling, "I should have expected you to ask me that given I asked when yours was. I am not at all sharp this morning. My birthday is the thirteenth of February. I do not celebrate it of my own accord."
Dith had always insisted on some kind of fuss over the event; he had tolerated it mostly to make his friend happy, although he had to admit he had been very fond of a few presents over the years. Skrion. His watch. His locket...
His locket.
Frost's right hand snapped up to his neck, but he ignored the wave of pain caused by the abrupt movement. No fine golden chain.
"I had a necklace when I came in here," he said in calm tones that contrasted starkly to his abrupt movement, "I wonder where they have put it."

"Sounds like shes fun to handle." Xander said with a chuckle and a small smile. At least Frost pokemon fit in to Team Rocket's, er... over all appearance. So far he hadn't really met any truly evil Rocket though. "Maybe something went wrong when she/they was sealed to the keystone." The blond tilted his head as he watched Frosts thoughtful face. "Well this this next time I shall have to make sure it's celebrated in some way, even if in a small celebration." He didn't think the older man would greatly enjoy a big party of any kind so Xander was thinking more along the lines of a gift, a cake and maybe a few of Frost's friends/people he could carry a conversation with.
At the mention of the necklace he reached into his pocket and pulled it out. "You were a bit out of it when you took it off so rather then it get lost I held onto it for you." he said then offered Frost's possession back. Actually Xander had been worried someone might try to steal it from his room mate if it was out in the open, thus waking him up while he and their pokemon took care of who ever it might be.

Frost accepted the precious item silently, tangling the chain in his fingers and allowing the oval locket to dangle down. It was engraved with binary, not proper binary, but it looked like binary and it was pretty. “Thank you,” the pale man said eventually, his voice even quieter than usual, “this is... important.” Strange, he didn’t consider even for a moment that his roommate might have looked inside the locket. He supposed he trusted him.
Sitting up slowly and carefully Frost put the necklace back on, repressing any sign of pain as his ribs told him that absolutely anything he did was far too much. “I would like to go back to our room,” he said after a moment, “could you possibly find somebody and persuade them to release me?... I would like to talk to you more privately.” There were things he wanted to say, he thought, but he was tired and still didn’t feel that his mind was too clear. Perhaps he should wait for another day, or perhaps now was the best time. It seemed easier to think about how he felt rather than what he thought at the moment.

The possibility of opening Frost's locket hadn't crossed Xander's mind either. He just gave the older man a smile and a nod. "Your welcome." He did however see the wince Frost did at the moving and the gray eyed teen let out a soft sigh. While he had known it wasn't realistic that Frost would be healed this quickly, he had hoped the drugs in his system was still helping the pain. At his friends request he stood out of the chair, carefully put Conrad on the bed by Skiron then stretched. "Alright, I'll find some one." he promised with another smile, curiosity clearly showing in his eyes about what Frost might want to talk to him about. "I'll be right back." he said then reluctantly left to find either a nurse or a doctor.

It wouldn't take Xander long to find a doctor; the time consuming part was all the tutting and pursing of the lips coming from said medical professional. Eventually however - having received permission to leave and banished everybody to the other side of the curtains - Frost was easing himself into his clothes. It took longer than he would have liked, but better to spend the extra time doing it carefully than to hurt himself.
On the other side of the curtains the doctor handed a bottle of painkillers to Xander and repeated the dosage instructions that he had just given to the smaller blond. He also repeated the instruction that Frost was to remain completely off duty for a week, to avoid doing anything more strenuous than walking, and to check into the infirmary once a day. Apparently the grey-haired man was no stranger to stubborn patients, and found that the most effective way to get them to cooperate was to get whoever seemed willing to worry about them to apply guilt trips as necessary. Giving Xander a last nod the doctor turned and hastened back to other duties.
Only a moment later Frost pushed aside the curtains and stepped out with his eyebrows raised. "I do not think that man trusts me," he observed as Skiron hopped down off the bed to join him. "Still," the pale-eyed man frowned thoughtfully, "I suppose after last night he has no reason to. That really was foolish of me... There is no point in dwelling on it; shall we go?"
