Someone had the same idea I did. XD Digimon based Power Rangers. I accidentally seen this picture on google images. Digimon Rangers
Anyway, what are you thoughts about having rangers based on creatures like digimon?

I think the fun thing with rangers, kamen riders, and henshin heroes in general, is the ability to apply most any kind of theme to them. Digimon, Pokemon, any sort of thing could be modified to a point where it can be used for it's own version of the above.
If I was to design the digimon ranger team, I would make them more similar in design. Each ranger in the image you found has too many unique qualities, it feels more like something else than a ranger team to me.
Took me a while to figure out they were meant to be mega-levels of the season 1 Digimon too sweatdrop

But I like the idea. As Itami said, the fun with Tokusatsu and PR is that anything can be based on anything.

Well, almost all of them are mega. A couple look like ultimate to me but that does not matter.
Yes, I agree. I even made a Yu-gi-oh! based Power Ranger RP on my mule account. I have to check did I get any nips yet after creating the ranger team though.

Ahh yeah, now I see. Some are in their ultimate form for some reason. Would be interesting if they had multiple form variants based on the evolutions. Have a rookie, champion, ultimate and mega form themselves in a sense.
I can see a yugioh team working with different deck styles for different rangers and monsters.

@Mr Jes: Yeah, I basically made them based on the monster the could relate to like Yugi was the Dark Magician Ranger, Joey was the Flame Swordsman Ranger, etc. I make Joey team leader to counteract what 4kids did to him. =) Link =)@Itami: That would be interesting with the Digimon. The Rangers could evolve throughout the series and become stronger with each new armor.

I think it would rule, Digimon Rangers, it is a logical step up.

It would be interesting to see. Plus, I would think it would have a similar feel to Digimon Frontier but more rangery.

I think that giving each Digirangers evolving armor would work nicely. As it works perfectly for the Zord battles. And would be so epic for the final battle.
Also the morphers could be like the spirit statues in Digimon Frontier. With each Digiranger saying the trait that represents them the most( Courage, Friendship, Knowledge, Love etc)
