Berfortoto was comfortably lying under the shade of a rather large tree, enjoying a midday nap. He was breathing lightly, letting out a soft snore every now and then. He shifted his paws a little, trying to make a more comfortable pillow for himself. The male let out a content sigh, feeling more comfortable than he was before, and tried to drift off to a more deeper sleep. Since he wasn't planning on meeting up with someone today, so the guy had the whole day to himself.

"Iyaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!"
... A pause came, and then birds fluttered away from a nearby tree in spite of the noise.
"Iya! Iya! Ajali'Badriya!" came the rhyme.
In the distance, a petite pink form appeared; the small lioness was apparently running, perhaps even leaping through the grassy hills of the savanna. It was near the start of day - not early enough in the morning to provoke angered and awakened creatures to the source... Not that the lioness was aware enough to care, but anyone crossing her path would be of great help to her.
"Aja! Ajali! Badriya! Iya, please!" she issued out once more, panting from all the voice she had been draining.
The lioness moaned, padding her way across another field - though this time, it was without speech. Her pale blue eyes never failed to scout out her position, though, and an eager tail constantly waved behind.
"Oh!" she exclaimed upon spotting a huge tree in the near distance, thinking, Maybe Iya will be there!
So, with hurried footsteps, the small lioness made her way to the tree with all hopes of finding her twin sister. It was unfortunate to see, however, a form who was very much bigger and different colored than her sister. Or perhaps it was fortunate?
"Hello!" she said brightly as she looked upon the colorful patterns behind the male's back, putting a smile on her face as if she had completely forgotten the distress she may have been in earlier, "Who are you?"

The lion woke with a start, immediately glancing all around him, wondering who it was that was screaming and yelling all over the place. Out of the corner of his eye, he spotted something pink leaping about. Berfortoto turned his head to see that it was a pink lioness. What was she yelling? Eeyah? Eeyah? What kind of word was that, he wondered. The male saw that she was approaching him, or at least the tree that was under and immediately sat up, shaking himself slightly to get rid of dust and dirt from his body. "Hey." he replied back in greeting, smiling as bright as her greeting. She wasn't the dangerous sort, didn't look like it, didn't act like it. There wasn't any reason for him to be rude to her. "I'm uh...Berfortoto." he said, "And who are you?" he asked, his tail thumping the ground lightly. "Where you the one screaming and yelling right now?"

The pink and petite lioness was glad to see her infectious smile spreading, especially on a male that looked rather cute, save for the dirt still lingering on some parts of his fur. She wanted to swipe and pat at the dust speckled on his back so that it wouldn't cover the brilliant colors she could perceive on his coat, but realized it would be too friendly of her. So, she settled for swinging a tail forwards, turning slightly sideways to brush the bottom of his paws. She hoped he didn't mind, but the urge to help him rid of the dirt had shown.
"I'm Nyota'dhamira," she replied happily, "And... I don't think so!"
She wondered very briefly; she hadn't heard any loud sound throughout the plains, but that had been because she was busy looking for Iya.
"Maybe you imagined it?" she suggested, a naively blithe attitude still plastered on her face, "I've been looking for Iya, my sister... She looks just like me, but purple. Do you think you would have seen something from this big tree?"

'What a cutie.', he thought as he watched her little mannerisms. Pink was his favorite color on a girl, so Nyota definitely won many points with him. "Oh, oh!" Berfortoto, lifted his paw, batting back at her tail lightly, was she trying to see if he was playful...? He definitely was, but maybe there was some other meaning behind it. The male couldn't help but chuckle a bit in her obliviousness, she was obviously the one that was being loud, but it wouldn't do to accuse her of it so he kept silent. extremely amused by the pink female.
"Looking for your sister...?" the male stood up slowly, shaking himself once more, his dark mane falling messily in front of his blue eyes. "I'll help you look." he offered, more as a way to get to know Nyota, but it was also nice to help her look for her sister.
"Well..." he started a bit sheepishly, "I was taking a nap..." he gave her a meek smile, "I didn't hear anything in particular...and I definitely didn't see anything so..." Berfortoto walked past her, "But I don't think we'd find her if we kept sitting around here and talking y'know?"

The more Berfortoto resisted Nyota'dhamira's cleaning, the more her tail persisted in swiping at his paws. It was such a bother! And he had almost stepped on her tail after lifting them! Perhaps he wanted to be dirty? Well, if he insisted...
She pulled back, feeling a sneeze come from the dust that must have come from the brushing and movement. Nyota'dhamira wrinkled her nose, closing her eyes in anticipation, yet it never came. The pressure in her nose caused her to start sniffling, but she had to respond to Berfortoto!
The sniffling must have made her seem more distressed when she answered, "Y-yes!..."
She took the time to breathe in a large sniff again, continuing, "Y-you would help? That's so sweet! I mean, no one's ever helped before... Sure, they turned their head left and right but found nothing, but..."
Nyota'dhamira paused to look at Berfortoto, who seemed to be doing much more than that. She was immensely flattered - usually the lions she ran across didn't even take her seriously. Some even thought she was lying when she said her sister was missing! She supposed that sometimes Ajali'Badriya did sometimes simply wandered a minute's walk away to find some shade or snack, but this time... This time Ajali'Badriya had been missing for days, and Nyota'dhamira needed to find her!
A few more sniffs came before Nyota'dhamira said, "I... I'm really glad I bumped into you, Berfortoto. Even if you were taking a nap, it's okay!"
She walked up to where he had stationed himself and rubbed his side with her head, nuzzling him in appreciation.
"She's probably not here anyways, otherwise she would have heard me. But I agree, we should keep going... She likes to stay inside caves sometimes instead of being out in the open like this. She'd only really be here if it was night... That's when we like to come out and enjoy the moonlight."

Why did she keep batting her tail at his paws like that? Was this some sort of new way of flirting with a guy? Or was there something on his paws...? Berfortoto lifted up his forepaws awkwardly, standing on his hind legs looking rather foolish. There was nothing in particular except for the normal dirt from the ground...
"Really?" Berfortoto frowned, "Why wouldn't they help you?" she wasn't bad at all, and she was cute. How could anyone refuse to help a sweet cute girl anyways? Or anyone for that matter. He was even more determined to help her find her sister now.
When Nyota had rubbed herself against him in appreciation, Berfortoto couldn't help but blush slightly, having not expected any sort of physical contact from her. He was half-tempted to nuzzle her back, but he didn't have a good enough reason to, "I'm glad I bumped into you too." he muttered to himself, thinking aloud and hoping to the gods she did not hear him.
"...Caves?" he said after he composed himself, "Do you know where any caves would be around here?" Berfortoto didn't know where caves would be in this area, as he didn't like the dark and dampness of the caves.

She giggled as Berfototo stood up - he must have really wanted to keep the dirt on his paws. It was a good thing she withdrew her tail, then. This display amused Nyota'dhamira that she smiled despite the talk about her lost sister and the lions who wouldn't help her. Before, she had felt rather sad that it was hard to get someone to pay attention, but Berfortoto made up for the ignorance of a hundred lions!
...Or at least, she was very glad that he was showing as much concern as he was now.
"I don't know... I mean, I'm really worried for Iya, but she probably can take care of herself. But we're always together... You know! We've always stuck to each other while growing up, so I need to find her. I think she's looking for me, too, but maybe we walked in different directions?"
She wrinkled her nose, reflecting on that thought. If Iya had truly been looking for her in the opposite way, then she'd have to backtrack!
"Well, I just saw some a day ago. If you see a mountain, there'll be caves below them. We usually like staying around a mountain's base... It's so beautiful when you can see the sky, and especially at night. Sometimes meteors fall, and that's the best time..."
She trailed off, pointing her head away from Berfortoto back to the place where she had last seen mountains. She wasn't sure if she purposely ended the sentence short for embarrassment of what came next, or if it was still the simple truth as it was. Regardless, she looked back to Berfortoto and grinned, making a gesture to the distance.
"We might find some caves over there!"

Getting back onto four paws again, he decided he wasn't going to worry too much about what Nyota had wanted from his paws. "So, you said she looks like you..." he said slowly, wanting to get his information right, "...but only purple?" that shouldn't be too hard. How many purple lions existed anyways?
"I'm sure she's fine." Berfortoto said, trying to console her, "Maybe she's at the base of the cave playing by herself or caught some nice prey so you two can have lunch together or something." was that a good way to lessen someone's worry? Or was he just being dumb right now? Either way, he was sure her sister wasn't in any danger. But what if she...no, no. He would have to stay optimistic for Nyota!
He walked a few steps in the direction she had gestured in. "I'm sure its very beautiful." he said, smiling, there was never a moment when the night sky was ugly. "Well what are we waiting for? Let's go!" Berfortoto said, grinning.

"My almost identical twin sister," she replied with a rather happy vigor and pride in that affirmation.
If she thought about it, Ajali'Badriya was probably fine. It wasn't like both of them didn't know how to take care of each other or their own self... Nyota dhamira had, after all, been the more childish of the two, often acting more youthful than her sister. And all this time she had been taking care of herself! So Ajali'Badriya wasn't in any danger, unless she had run into it herself... Perhaps Nyota'dhamira just simply missed her company. It was hard, when the two had always been together while growing up. Losing each other happened sometimes, but it wasn't that often, and it usually was only for a few hours or at the most, a day.
But then why would Ajali'Badriya go away without saying anything? That was the question to which Nyota'dhamira would have to find the answer.
"Yes!" Berfortoto's enthuse for the situation, no matter how worrying it was, infected Nyota'dhamira and prompted her to bounce on her paws, starting a very cheerful stride with her new companion.
"If we hurry, maybe there'll be some lunch left for you!"

Berfortoto grinned, glad that Nyota was playfully striding towards their destination. "Some lunch would be wonderful actually." he chuckled, walking along with her.
"She shouldn't be too hard to find...she's purple so she'd probably stick out like a sore thumb next to the mountains." the only problem that he could find was how long it would be to get to the mountain, and if Nyota's sister would even stay at that same spot to they could go fetch her. If only there was some sort of way to tell her from faraway to stay put or something.
But either way, even if she wasn't there, Berfortoto wouldn't mind spending more time with Nyota. Even if she was childish, she was pretty cute and he liked cute girls.
