Berfortoto stretched out, clambering around the brush rather clumsily, still a bit disoriented after his mid-morning nap. His blue eyes blinked lazily, as he stifled a yawn. This was a new part of the lands that he had stumbled upon on, and knew no one yet. It was a bit saddening to him actually, as he had always prided himself in the amount of lions and other felines he was on good terms with back where he came from. He couldn't help but feel quite lonely sometimes, because the male had no one to talk to. Frowning slightly at this rather saddening thought, he decided that today, he would make a friend.

Kauaense trotted slowly along, he'd been wandering for so many days now. His head hung low as he was discouraged- but that was part of the trial of finding his name, right? He sighed and picked his head up. He had to lift his spirits, if he didn't then he'd never find his adult name! And he couldn't stand to disappoint his mother or father. Especially not his father. Thinking of the god made Kau's spirits drop even further. He heaved another sigh and his posture sagged and his tail fell slack and dragged on the ground. Maybe he should just go home as a failure... Maybe he should never go back to avoid the shame! The adolescent shook his head as though to rid himself of those thoughts.
He stopped and took in a deep breath. Today he would find new resolve! He'd do something to cheer himself up. A big kill? A new friend? Only time would tell. He kept walking until he finally caught sight of a grey form on the horizon. At last!

Berfortoto continued to walk along at a slow pace, staring at the scenery that he was so used to, but slowed down to a full stop. Oh, was that someone in the distance? He squinted, trying to get a better look. It was gray...kinda like him. But wait, why was he just standing there and watching? Why was he not walking up to the figure and talking?
He shook his head as he chuckled at his foolishness, trotting up to the other figure. He tried his hardest to not bound up to the other figure, in case if they were easily frightened or weren't as friendly as he was. He stopped when he was able to see the figure more clearly, and saw it was a lion, a male much younger than himself. Putting on his most friendly smile, he stopped a few feet away from him, "Hello there." he said pleasantly.

Kau was anxious when the figure approached him, and even more so when he could tell it was an adult lion. He must have inherited nervousness from his father, but when he saw the genuine smile on the lion's face, his fears began to subside and he began feeling happier. Ah, so it was a nice lion! Unlike his father, he took things for face value and didn't distrust a friendly face.
Kau returned the smile broadly and the greeting. "Hello, I'm Kauaense!" He would have introduced himself further- his pride, his purpose, but though the lion seemed nice, he didn't know if he was a part of a different pride or if he would react adversely to a foreigner.

"I'm Berfortoto. Pleased to make your acquaintance." the male looked over Kauaense, quite interested in the swirls around the younger male's legs. He looked like a strong young boy, perhaps he would be a stronger adult as he got older. But then again, most males compared to Berfortoto weren't smaller than himself. It was a bit embarrassing to be a winged male smaller than the average male lion. But since, he was older than Kauaense, he wouldn't have to be too ashamed.
"I'm new here." he said, the friendly smile still on his face, "I don't have anywhere to go really, or anywhere I really belong." he nodded after his statement, feeling as if he was giving out too much information to a stranger. It was probably because he was very eager to get to know the lion.
