It had been a couple of days since a team had returned from a surprise mission for a Galactic sighting. And with their return, a strange object had been brought to the Agent Faleen while she had been sitting in the cafeteria for Lunch.

Agent Sorano had explained what he had seen for how it functions, that alone made had Faleen very eager to take it apart and see how it worked.
Today though, she had just barely started to disassemble the massive devised, that had been dubbed in file as the “G-ball”, sitting on a cleared out work aria.
Notes were being taken, everything she did had to be logged so they could get as much as they could out of this.

A giant pokeball in sense that could hold twenty some pokemon within, Faleen had never heard of the like.

Honestly, Faleen was having a blast with this, The agent, in her new white uniform, hair pulled back to keep it from her face as she worked, sat hovering over the separated components of the ball, eyes scanning over every detail of its inner working.
Having taken apart pokeballs before, she recognized the functions and build, and differences stood out to her.
Letting out a soft hum, of fascination before lifting her gaze to the monitor that sat at the work station, looking over the scans she had taken earlier.

Umbreon was out of his pokeball, trusted enough to stay out of the way and out of trouble.
He lay to the side, away from the table, head resting on his paws, as half lidded red eyes watched his Master work.

"C'mon, you started without me?" came a friendly male tenor from the doorway, teasing in good humor. It was followed by someone Faleen hadn't seen in a while - and judging by the way Hayes' eyebrows lifted, he hadn't seen her in a while either.

The agent moved a bit more slowly and stiffly than he usually did, reducing his usual amble to more of a walk, despite no obvious bandages. He was followed by an Umbreon, all blue rings and gleaming coat and sinuous, sashaying movement, who tilted her head at the sight of another of her species. The agent took note of the new white uniform and grinned widely. "Whoa. Congrats."

The familiar voice tore Faleen attention away from the scans, turning her head as she sat up straighter.
For a moment, her eyebrows arched, a little surprised when she saw who it was.
"Hayes" This was made into both a confirming statement to herself, acknowledging an Agent she hadn’t interacted with in some time, and a form of greeting to the blond man.
She stood, looking as if she wasn't expecting him, but her polite smile welcomed him.
"I wasn't aware you would be joining" she added in an apologetic tone "I was quite eager to take a look at it though."

Her head inclined to the side a little when he walked over, taking quick notice of the stiffness in his movements.
She knew from Nikki that he had been on that mission, and a few people were hurt, it was reasonable to assume he was one of them.
She didn't have the opportunity to inquire about this when the blue ringed Umbreon suddenly caught her eye. Lips parted slightly as she watched the dark type, Hayes had an Umbreon now, and even more, a Shiny.

Umbreon, who had lifted his head when he heard someone coming into the lab, seeing a human he recognized, from a while back, and a couple times during missions.
Ears slicked back as he held his head high, eyes open fully now as he watched the humans in the room, eyes flicking to the other Umbreon briefly.

"Thank you.” She replied, unable to contain a pleased smile herself, it was still pretty new, and she was still so pleasantly surprised about being an promoted… To put it mildly.
In truth she was utterly delighted.
“So far it’s been quite the exciting week.” The rocket added, folding her hands behind her back, that much was very true.
“So, what brings you to Robotics? Am I to presume you’re here to work on the G-ball as well?”
it seemed obvious really, it had been the buzz of the tech department. and considering his earlier comment.

"Yeah, Seth figured there was something more than your standard refraction system going on, so." The agent turned a hand palm-up in an ersatz shrug, as if to say 'Here I am.' It was a careful movement, as was the way he placed his gloved palms on the work surface to have a closer look at the captured Galactic tech. "Mind if I sit?"

The dark type accompanying Hayes gave Faleen's Umbreon what she probably thought was a knowing look and sauntered close, gold eyes narrowing as she trilled a "Breeee~" at him.

"Ah, I see." She gave a small grin at that, "He would be correct." Adding this with a subtle tone of excitement.

When he asked to sit, Faleen stepped back, "Oh, no, here."
She took the seat from behind her, offering the chair she had been using so he wouldn't have to wait standing while she found another one.
It was clear that he had been injured.
"Nikki told me that you had been in the mission where this device came from, you look like you might have been injured."

Umbreon had been watching the male human walk over to his master, but the noise from the other Umbreon drew his attention back. Eying her over a couple of times before he replied with a short "Breon"

Hayes took the chair with a grateful "Thanks" and sank into it, leaning back gingerly. He turned a sheepish grin on Faleen at her question. "Ah, yeah," he laughed, which made him wince. "Kind of got thrown into a tree by a giant robot." His brow furrowed. "Or a Shaymin." Giant robot sounded a lot more impressive, even if it wasn't correct.

Binary sat about a foot away from the other Umbreon and leaned in, showing off the shiny blue ring on that shoulder. "" she purred.

Once he was seated, Faleen stepped over to another work aria, taking a chair from there and rolling it back to her work station so she could use it. Sitting down as well and swirling it around to face him while he spoke, plucking up a screwdriver from the table to absently begin spinning it between both her hands.
Head turned for a time at the monitors of the G-ball scans before his explanation caught her full attention.

Frowning in displeasure at the mention of the Shaymin, remembering Sorano saying thats what caused the explosion back at the Poke Ball mission, and now she hears it was suspected to be the cause of more Rocket's injuries, at least Hayes seemed like he was well enough to work so soon after that explosion.
"You took a hit from either of those, and your back to work so soon."

Despite the frown on her lips, the sudden upward quirking of her eyebrows indicated a keen interest in the other thing he had mentioned.
"I heard mention in the cafeteria of a giant robot, another one designed from a pokemon?"
Sitting up off off the back rest of the chair, lowering her hands with the screwdriver by her knees.
"You were there for that! I've been coming up with concept designs of how it might have been built using what I've seen from the two they've used against us so far, was the build anything similar to the first one that the Grunt Atlas controled?"
Sadly that robot had been completely demolished... she only had her memory left to map out its construct, something he had translated to paper, keeping what records she could of the Galactic tech.

He had taken notice of the difference in coloring on her body, golden eyes, and blue rings. having heard that his kind adopted those colors during rare genetic coding... Shiny.
he explained, pushing himself up so that he could sit up while he spoke to the female Umbreon.

Had he been more mobile, Hayes would have reached a hand into the back of his hair - one of those little habitual actions that indicated any number of things but usually meant he felt sheepish about something. As it was, he grinned in a self-effacing way and glanced away from Faleen.

"I got lucky. I mean, I'm not gonna be running marathons, but I can code fine." So could Seth, whose ribs had been cracked more than bruised, but the less said about his superior's grueling work habits, probably the better.

That was one nice thing about the uniforms; they covered everything. Including the bruises, scratches, and bandages around his midsection.

"Anyway, yeah, the mech." The blond brightened up considerably at the talk of tech. "Giant Ariados - like three stories. It cleared a path before we got there, but it didn't move around much. Except for the end." Hayes winced slightly at the memory.

"" Binary tilted her head up to get a look at Faleen, overbalanced, and hurriedly collected herself, twitching her ears. ""

A smile had been working its way over her lips, hearing from Hayes' perspective on what the mech was. picturing the gigantic metal beauty in her mind.
gosh to bad it came from something as horrible as Galactic.

At Hayes' wince though, she tiled her head a little. "One of the grunts told me it has a style of boosters, is that what you mean?" she paused, still leaning forward a little.
"I wish I could have been there, at least to have seen it." She could only smile again, her cheeks turning a little pink. "Unless we do end up getting a hold of it, like the rumors around here say, than I can actually get my hands on it."
This thought pleased her quite a bit, and the excitement was apparent in her voice.

Umbreon remembered, pushing himself easily to his feet and looking over at the other Umbreon

"Thrusters," Hayes nodded. He grinned and pushed his glasses up on his nose, looking like a kid talking about his favorite toy as he went on.

"It was awesome. Really sucks you didn't get a chance to see it - it was as big as the last one, so I don't know what he was using for the propulsion system. Hydraulics, maybe. But it had these afterburners-" The agent leaned forward as much as he comfortably could, shaping an invisible blueprint as he explained. "-on the underside. Maybe for short-range jumps. It used them when it got trapped in the ice - we dug a hole and froze it - but they sort of.. tore the body off and sent it into a tree." There was a rueful grin there; it'd been good for the team, but it wasn't a stretch to assume the tech had been hoping the mech would stay in one piece.

"" Binary replied, canting her head to the side when she was studied in a coy sort of way. "" Which was to say she was hatched a few raids ago, but if the other Umbreon didn't ask, she wouldn't tell.

While Faleen was normally a calm, straight postured and professional women, her whole demeanor seemed to change with the topic.
As he began to explain into more detail about the Mech that galactic had recently brought out.
She sat forward, tapping the screwdriver against her knee as she folded a leg in when he moved to show her gesture, mapping out what the thrusters at the bottom looked like.
She was begining to easily form a much better image of it in her head.

"Sure looks like that would be its main function," She commented on the afterburners shape and location on the mech.
"The amount of force a jump would put on legs like that though, considering how much the body of the machine might weigh. There must have been some beautiful work going on in those joints."

At this her eyes narrowed softly, though her face clearly showed she was building something in her mind, piecing together just what her best guess would be,
"Like this here." It was her turn to give an example. tapping the screwdriver onto the table and shaping out a few pieces.
Once she finished with what her idea of what the joint would look like she tilted her head again.
"Oh I bet those would have been the first thing destroyed when the legs got ripped off" at this she shook her head softly with a sigh, looking back over at the Programmer.
For as good of a guess as she could give, she couldn't know for sure unless she saw it. She would love to see what kind of tactic were used on it's joint and supports.

"How badly was it destroyed this time?" The first one they saw had been completely demolished, and the second had managed to get away.

Umbreon lifted one of his ears slightly off of his skull at her explanation, he wasn't to surprised, he had not seen this human male for a while, since Faleen's schedule changed and she first got the job working in robotics.
forget the fact that Umbreon wasn't exactly social... at all.
He glanced over at the humans agian, red eyes blinking when he saw the way his Master was talking to the other human, he saw her like this very seldom, though, more often now a days since she got this new job.

"Definitely," Hayes murmured when Faleen mentioned the beautiful work, tilting his head to get a better look at the invisible design she was sketching. As he did, his glasses slipped back to their usual position. Mechanics wasn't his field - he had an amateur's interest in the subject but not the training the other agent obviously had - so the insight he could give without displaying some critical ignorance was limited.

But what she said next gave him pause.

"Actually.." The blond met Faleen's gaze. "It wasn't. They got away on a Gliscor. All the parts were there last I saw." He could only assume they were still there when the team left, as he'd been unconscious at the time.

"" Binary cocked her head upwards, studying the humans' body language. Her trainer's job usually involved futzing about with machines and getting yelled at by the tall man with the bad temper, not talking animatedly to other people. ""

When the mention of the robot pieces being abandoned, her eyebrows arched upward slightly, and she leaned back in the seat once again, mouth opening slightly while she hung in contemplation, looking back at the other Rocket.
"I... heard it was left behind, was there any word of it being retrieved?"
She paused at this and glanced around the room with a light gesture of her hand.
"Then again seeing as we've not heard anything about it, then maybe he hasn't"
One would assume that they would bring a robot to the robotics department.

This realization drew a bit of a disappointment on Faleen's face, lifting a corner of her mouth.
"I wonder if its still out there."

He answered, lowering his head down a but so he can lift a back paw and scratch behind his ear.
straightening back up, pushing his front paws together to sit himself higher, turning his red eyes back onto the other Umbreon.

The blond shook his head lightly in the negative. "Explosion got some people pretty good; there weren't enough of us to cart it back," he explained, with a rueful curve of his mouth. He'd heard about it second hand, having passed out shortly after trying to stand up. It had been a shame, thinking of all that beautiful work abandoned in nearly working condition.

Faleen's musing made him catch her eye. "Could be." Hayes grinned; the same thought had been on his mind. "You want to go look?"

Promoted. This was a new word, and Binary quickly brushed away her puzzled look with an artful swipe at her ear. "" she considered, with a faint smirk. ""

She let off a soft sigh when it was confirmed that the mech was indeed not retrieved. Though it was his last suggestion that drew her posture back up, surprise in her eyes as she blinked a couple of times, before taking a few moment to consider this.
"... It hasn't been very long," she added, tilting her head a little "There would be benefit to having a Galactic mech to look over"
There would be so much they could learn from looking at it, studying it.
"How far is it?"
There was clear interest in her voice, though a hint of caution, she didn't want to just go running out there.

He glanced at her ear when she moved it.
