Age: 17.
Faction/Race: Grim Reaper.
Personality: He's stubborn. And snarky. And sarcastic. And stubborn. Have I mentioned stubborn? Sparrow likes to do his own thing, on his own time, and will take as long as he wants to do it - for the most part, that is. He tries to put off this aloof attitude, like he doesn't care about the world and whatnot, but he's not really fooling anyone. There's a bit of a cocky issue; he likes to be right, and he likes to be impressive and smart and oh yes, so very good looking. Because he is, right?
Right. And he always has a smart-alecky answer to everything - unless it's a teacher. Because he's such a geek when it comes to learning, Sparrow respects his teachers (for the most part; if he thinks the teacher is a bad teacher, then he just gets sulky like a four year old).
Brought up in a loving family with a doting mother, cheerful father, and three older siblings (triplets; two boys, one girl), Sparrow is, in fact, the shortest and the runt of the family. His brothers and sister all tease him about this, but never mockingly, though sometimes he overreacts a bit. And he gets grumpy when you call him small (he's 5'10", but the rest of his family are up there in the six foot range, rendering him "petite" to them), but really he doesn't mind it all that much. What Sparrow lacks in height, he makes up for in other ways. He's intelligent and confident, cautious (most of the time) and daring.
And he loves to make up his own mathematical equations. Yes he's a total geek inside. Give him a figure about pi or geometry, and he'll just go to town.
Why are they enrolled in Amityville Academy? Contrary to the aloof, uncaring attitude he gives off, Sparrow really does enjoy learning. A lot. In fact, if he could just sit and research all day he'd be pleased. So when his parents told him he should go, he griped, he whined, he protested, but inside, secretly, he was excited.
FEAR: Shadow Scythe. Sparrow's scythe, like all reapers, is the most important aspect of his FEAR. He can use it to "pin" his opponents by their shadows. Using the blade to "capture" the shadow, Sparrow can hold an opponent in place long enough to do at least some sort of damage - for the most part. When there aren't many shadows, or even none at all, it makes it much more difficult for him to use his FEAR. When he has managed to successfully pin an opponent, depending on the strength of the person he's attacking, it only lasts a short time before the other can break away.
Natural Abilities: "For a few crucial seconds, Grim Reapers can shift into a shadowy, wispy intangible substance. They cannot sadly, pass through walls this way.
Physical Description:
Eye Colour: Blue.
Hair Colour/Style: Short, tan/brown, with the bangs pulled back.
Skin Colour: A light tan.
Clothing Style/Colours: Very prim, very proper, very 19th Century-ish. Ribbons, lace, gloves, heels, etc. Those boots of his are actually thigh-high and laced up the front.
Extra: He wears a mask at night, or when he's searching for ghosts or fighting. It's not really necessary; he just tries to act cool.
References: A very loose concept for Sparrow's scythe. However, it has smokey tendrils curling away from it and looks less solid than normal weapons (it's also all black, without any color). The scythe is taller than he is by at least a foot, leaning more towards a foot and a half.
** These are all loose concepts for clothing ideas; a general idea of the types / styles of clothing he tends to wear. **

I'm...yeah I couldn't find much to critique on, but I wanted to share my love with you (and Sparrow <3 ). The only thing I can really find is maybe go into a little more about how he loves making up his own mathematical equations. And perhaps list what he doesn't do so hot at? Yes he is intelligent, but surely he has something that he is not quite good at? ;D

And good point. He sucks at English. : | He's slightly dyslexic in the fact that he has a hard time reading aloud and mixing up words. It's not a heavy form; just mild. He also gets slightly panicky at public speaking. Despite his confidence and bravado, when it comes to actual public speaking in front of a big crowd, he gets really really nervous.

Did I ever tell you that I think Sparrow is fabulous? l'D
Since he is. (and so are you. Just saying.)
And I don't have a lot of questions, but here's a few:
-- Does his mild dyslexia ever interfere with his mathematic love? (Like, do his equations sometimes get jumbled up, resulting in the wrong caluclations, etc?) If so, does it frustrate him when such things happen?
-- What's his handwriting look like? (Super random question, I know, but...)
-- What's his opinion on tutors? (Since he loves learning so much.) If he was having trouble, say in english or something, would he not want a tutor (out of pride or something) or would he jump at the chance of getting a tutor (since it would benefit his learning) ?
And those last two questions totally weren't because I'm questing Kallos, nope. *Looks away innocently while whistling a cheery tune.*
And just saying now, If you get him and I get Kallos, I want RP at some point in time. I don't care what about, but I want RP. l'D; (And also, if you actually get him, I would trade you my peryton since it fits him SO WELL. :'D )

01. Occasionally his dyslexia gets in the way of his mathematics, but not very often. Usually only when's super stressed about something, and then it becomes more prominent. He's the type that would get frustrated, yes. And maybe throw a pen. Or two. Or three. Just sayin.
02. Very girlish neat and tidy. <:
03. I think it would depend on what they're tutoring him in. Math tutors he would despise, since he's A.) good at math, and B.) knows he's good at it, so therefore he wouldn't ever think he would be good at math. As for being tutored in other areas, it would probably take quite a bit of convincing, but in the end he'd probably swallow his pride and accept it.
Just as long as they studied alone. In private. Without anyone he knew around. And the tutor would be sworn to silence.

(Don't worry, Sparrow, I bet Kallos' handwriting is girlierahem, more calligraphic/fancier/prettier, than yours. :'D)
I could see Kallos tutoring him in English. (And then the reverse since I think anything more than average math goes over Kallos' head. (anything involving questions with more than three variables would render this face from Kallos --> O A O;; ) Although he'd probably be good at math, he'd just need someone to show him how to get started, yah?) > u <
YES, RP WOULD BE FABULOUS. (And funny, since couldn't Sparrow pinpoint wherever Kallos was (Kallos being a ghost and all and Sparrow being a Grim Reaper) ? Which would just make it even more awesome, since I think Kallos doesn't like reapers due to that incident in his history. l'DD ) We can adore each other's characters. l'D

Unlike some other esteemed educators at the Academy, Audley was determined that a few students should actually be accepted because they were qualified and not because of some freak accident involving the Acceptance Bin.
So, she sat at her large desk in her vaguely coffin-shaped office and read over a large stack of applications.
Four and a quarter hours later, Audley was seconds away from tearing out her hair and was pretty sure she was developing a permanent twitch in her eye. With exasperation, she pushed the pile of applications off her desk and decided to leave it up to fate to decide. The Acceptance Bin and Rejection Bin squealed with glee and Audley sat back to enjoy the slaughter of paper.
When asked why she had accepted the students she had, Audley glared and muttered something about "natural selection" before walking away.
