Appearance: Jane is a stereotypical Irishwoman, to say the very least. Her hair is red, but not quite the frustrating frizzy carrot red that she originally expected to develop. Instead, as her hair fell into stick-straight and fine layers, ones that she keeps trimmed to her shoulders as well as soft childish bangs across her forehead, she developed a copper shade of red. She often keeps much of it subdued with the use of a green headband, though it has next to no sentimental value to her. If anything, it being green amuses her now that she has been dubbed a Gryffindor.

Her eyes are the most peculiar part of her person. They are a shade of almost sea-foam green, like a bizarre combination between green and blue that was also drastically lightened. As neither of her parents have that exact shade, she's not quite sure where they came from. However, they are often always wide and in awe, taking in everything that Hogwarts has to offer her.

Her skin is relatively pale, but a healthy smattering of freckles dots almost every inch of her. It should also be noted that she is currently around the average height for her age, if not a couple of inches shorter, standing at 178 centimeters tall and weighing around five stone. She can be found almost always smiling.

Personality: Jane is a happy soul. She sees the world through rose-colored glasses and has difficulties with thinking that things could go wrong when they're already going so well. It is also equally as difficult for her to take things like rivalries seriously, but she does try her very best even if it seems unlikely at the time.

She's a tough girl with a love for Quidditch instilled in her by her father at a young age. Indeed, she's a tomboy to the extreme, especially having grown up without the influence of a female figure. While she doesn't condone violence or harsh words, especially when they're absolutely uncalled for or thrown around just to make someone feel big and powerful, she'll not hesitate to dive in and protect someone in need of a friend or defense.

On that note, she has a great love for...everything! Nature, human beings, animals, food, flying, everything that she can get her hands on. She cares so strongly about it all that she'll often begin to cry if something happens to it, and once that emotional rollercoaster starts it's next to impossible to stop it.

Jane is also not remarkably bright, especially in terms of book smarts, but she can logically reason things rather quickly for her age and has a mind set to develop common sense very quickly.

History: Jane was born in a small village in Ireland known as Glenbrook, right at the Southernmost tip of County Cork. There was very little to recommend it to the presence of witches and wizards, and thus that was why her family chose to settle there. Her father, Kenneth, and her mother, Eileen, had both recently graduated from Hogwarts and decided to elope against the wishes of their parents, who had decided that the pair were far too young. They were unaware that Eileen was pregnant until around five months after the wedding, when Jane was born.

Originally, the family was as happy as could be. However, with Kenneth working long hours to support the family by muggle means and with Eileen home all day to take care of the baby, their honeymoon happiness began to wane. Before even a year had past, Eileen was on the verge of mental breakdown, and she left Jane and Kenneth behind to travel during one SUmmer night. Though Kenneth waited for her all day the next, even after seeing her farewell letter, she didn't come back.

The next few years were hard for Kenneth, especially with having to use the meager savings he'd begun to move the family to a bigger house to pay for a babysitter instead while he worked even longer and more intense hours. However, if one asked him now, he would say he never regretted a second of them, especially those wonderful moments where Jane first began to walk or to talk. Given her cheerful disposition at almost all hours of the day, it was far too difficult for him to despise the life given to him.

Jane grew healthy and strong and used to her life of poverty, always taking fine care of her clothing and her toys so that they would rarely need to be replaced. What she was unaware of was her mother returning by the cloak of darkness one night when she was six and quietly entering the house. Eileen approached Kenneth as he slept and quietly urged him to come with her, to travel, to leave Jane and to rediscover their love. As much as he had dreamed of that very moment, he knew it impossible. He'd built a life alone, and with his precious daughter. He turned her away, and he never saw her again.

When Jane was around eight years old, Kenneth saw fit to take some of his muggle savings that he had accumulated over the last several frugal years and exchanged them for wizarding money. As Jane was beginning to exhibit small signs of untrained magical power, he knew that it was best to prepare her for the world beyond simple stories of his younger days. What he bought, however, was a bit frivolous: a broom. Jane took to it like a boat to water. The two would go out to distant areas, ones rarely disturbed by humans, and after casting a number of Do-Not-Notice charms Kenneth would instruct Jane on the proper way to ride a brook. He began to teach her the basic mechanics of Quidditch and, a year after receiving a particularly high bonus for his hard work, also took her to see a few Quidditch games several cities over. The girl was obsessed. From then on, she was determined to be accepted into a wizarding school just so she could play on a Quidditch team, if not to make a life out of it one day professionally.

The day came when she received her Hogwarts letter, and Jane literally shrieked with joy. After doing a few laps around the house in excitement, she and her father immediately began to plan. Second-hand supplies were purchased. Plans were made. The day she arrived at the Hogwarts Express, she couldn't be more prepared. She was sorted into Gryffindor, her personal favorite of the four from when her father first told her the story of the four founders, and though her father was in Hufflepuff and her mother a Ravenclaw she just knew that both of them would be proud of her.
