Bio:
Lisa Garland is a nurse who worked at Alchemilla Hospital. She was/is extremely addicted to White Claudia, a drug being dealt by the hospital's administrator, Dr. Michael Kaufmann, and Silent Hill's resident cult, the Order. This caused her to be extremely dependent on Kaufmann and the Order because without the drug she would hallucinate and see images of what resembles Silent Hill when the darkness takes over; such as pus coming out of the faucets and the walls bleeding. Thus this addiction made her their slave.
One of Lisa's most important duties was to take care of the patient, Alessa Gillespie, who was severely burned in a fire. Alessa's body was covered in burn wounds which would not heal, and were always oozing blood and pus, requiring frequent bandaging. Lisa did not understand what was keeping the girl alive (The Book of Lost Memories reveals Dahlia cast a magical incantation on her daughter), and the ordeal of constantly replacing the bandages took a heavy toll on her sanity. Alessa misinterpreted Lisa's care as actual affection, something she desperately wanted and craved, having never received any from her mother, though in truth Lisa only did so because if she did not her supply of the drug would be cut off and she would go crazy. This might be the reason why Lisa retains her human form and individuality during the events of Silent Hill. Lisa eventually did want to leave Alchemilla and quit nursing Alessa because she eventually grew weary of it and of the heavy toll on her mental state, however, Kaufmann refused to allow her to leave, and threatened to cut off her supply of White Claudia right there and then, which led to arguing and fighting between the two. It is later believed that Dahlia herself or Kaufmann killed Lisa, thus causing her soul to be taken by Alessa into the "otherworld"; due to Alessa wanting a caring soul nearby and taking mercy on her.
When Harry first passed through Silent Hill and interacted with Lisa it was discovered by Lisa herself that she was just like everyone else. Dead. And Harry's unwillingness to help her after she realized it heart her deeply, though she understood his reasoning.
Currently her soul is still trapped in Silent Hill, having never been able to repent her actions in the past, she is still unable to find the peace that will set her free.
Glimpses of her can be seen randomly throughout Silent Hill being tormented by her own personal demons. But these are just projections of her strong emotions.
