A young mare wandered through a darker part of the forest where contact with other Soquili would be minimal. Her tired and despondent soft aqua eyes searched the ground for any flowers, or lost trinkets left behind by two-leggers or other Soquili. The mare was often sent out to find "beautiful" things that would match the "beauty" of her caretaker, but after being in the care of the uncaring mare, she could hardly see how her perception of beauty fit the mare herself. The mare shook her head from those thoughts as she continued to search through the forest, trying to stay unnoticed by those around. Her small frame easily disappeared into healthy bushes, making it easier for her to "disappear" should the occasion arise.

The deep he went into the forest the darker the surrounding began to form not that he minded considering the soft glow of yellow seemed to show from his ghastly eyes. He preferred it there, it was cooler and far more secluded then what he considered the open world. He wasn't shy no, far from that, he was more or less ashamed of his own appearance. The rather sickly like state that his body seemed to completely remain in, forever like a horrifying nightmare that no one wanted to face. No one other than his own family would love such a thing, though considering the appearance of his family that was little to no surprise, but he cared for more or less. Stretching his one wing Jiibay continued to move swiftly in the dark paying little to no attention to his own surroundings.

Under the dense canopy of the mare, little sunlight was able to penetrate the forest floor. Maybe this location was not the best area to look for flowers, but she would hope. Maybe beauty can grow in an area where there was no hope in growing. Wandering across a path that drew her out of the bushes that engulfed her body, her eyes widened as she came upon a few flowers in full bloom. Her eyes looked over the beautiful red flowers (Red Surprise Lily), to flowers of differing colors (Primrose), to a few cuter flowers that looked similar to hearts (Bleeding Heart). Her head craned up to look at the flowers, wondering why a flower would develop to look like a heart and why it would appear as if it was bleeding. The mare was very pleased, her tail swaying side to side slowly as she examined the flowers further.

A sort of movement caught his eye, or so he thought as the black colored stallion made his way through the silent forest. He paused at first thinking that it was nothing more than the wind playing tricks on his own eyes however there was no movement from the rest of the trees. It was something aqua in color swaying back and forth in a brush, a tail that resembled something of a cat like creature. Narrowing his eyes he couldn't decide if he should bother saying something to the creature or just to continue to ignore it, not that whatever it was would have any interest in him leaving him back to the latter answer. Shaking his head a bit Jiibay started to move again this time with hoof steps that were lighter in sound as if not to attract more attention to himself and the fact that he was still peering over at the shrub trying to figure out what it was in the bush.

Looking at the flowers in curiosity, the mare wondered how she would even collect the flowers. It was one thing if they were big flowers, and one might be sufficient, but these flowers were smaller than usual. She even wondered if her caretaker would even like them. The flowers were not like the roses or lilies that she had collected previously. These flowers were a bit more unique due to their need to adapt to this environment. The mare moved forward to a patch of the red lilies and examined them. She took one by the stem and used her teeth to make an attempt at a clean cut. With the stem and flowers hanging from her mouth, an idea came to mind in how she would transfer the flowers.
Her tail curled and unfurled before she maneuvered it close to her mouth before attempting to grip the flower with her tail. Since she was not used to using her tail muscles like so, the flower slipped and fell into the dirt. Her ears flicked back in her disappointment before picking up the flower in her mouth again.

Curiosity got the better of him as he found himself peering around the edge of the bush, it was a mare. She was light in color something along the lines of blue and aqua green as if the color was a body of water reflecting the rays of the sun. Jiibay could feel the hiss from deep his throat start to rise, she was invading his current space despite it being a place he had only recently come to find. She appeared to be having a hard time collecting flowers and holding it with her tail and in all honesty she looked rather silly however he had to admit as least she should curl her own tail. Peering around he noticed she was alone at least it appeared to be leaving no one to surprise and or attack to protect. "What are you doing here?" he replied his voice low as he kept most of his body hidden in the shadows.

The mare was completely unaware of the stallion behind her. Her focus was devoted to the flowers among her and trying to decide how to transfer the flowers. Her body suddenly tensed hearing the low voice behind her. Her ears flicked back as she shrank her body to appear smaller than she already was. Her back was kept towards to voice in the shadows as her only form of defense. "I-I.. am here to collect flowers..." She muttered quietly. Her eyes were downcast and giving up any sense of dominance to the creature behind her.

Jiibay kept his eyes on her waiting to see if he would strike out against him or if she would flee in a rather skittish manner but she didn't. In a way he felt as if he was a bit sorry for her, she replied only with a mutter her eyes to the ground as if she had no pride to at least respond to him with some sort of respect. She was larger than his sister however even Amakie didn't dare to shrink down and mutter she would rather die than become to timid. "When you speak you should at least look at the face to who you are talking to, its pitiful to just mutter," he replied his voice softer than before but still retained its dislike, "is there any reason why do you need to collect them here?"

Nolens Volens did not know what to do. Her caretaker would not be pleased if she saw her conversing with another Soquili. The mare slowly turned her face to the voice behind to her slowly raise her gaze to the stallion behind her. Surprise appeared on her face from what she could make of the stallion, but she didn't think he was as scary as her own caretaker. The mare fought herself from looking back down. "I-I'm not supposed to look at those superior to me... in thier eyes." She said softly, before glancing at the fallen flower. "My caretaker wants me to bring her back flowers."

Caretaker? Was that another word for a parent? And what a stupid request that was to bring back your so called parent flowers, though he supposed his own father's request were no better. He was not surprised though by her reaction when he looked at his face, it was the same as everyone else's, a surprise, a shock in away a horrified gasp. He could feel another stab of hatred to those who were normal and those who cursed him run through his heart, it was always the same. Knotting his brows he looked at her again and to the flowers, "as if you couldn't tell I am not superior to you in anyway, I do believe there are many who consider a monster lower than a regular soquili and you do not need to feel any different. it is not safe to pick flowers from here, there are other things far worse than I who linger here looking for nothing more than harm to others you should leave." His voice was harsh but he had little worry about offending her it wasn't as if she would come back again.

Nolens Volens shook her head, her eyes already downcast on the ground. " I am nothing." She said quietly, reciting the words that were often recited to her. The mare could feel the sorrow pooling in her own heart by reciting those words. The mare did not heed his warning. Turning away from the stallion, her head was downcast as she continued to wander further down the pathway to investigate if there were more flowers down the path. She was not worried about other harming her. She had to worry about her own caretaker harming her.

For once in his own life Jiibay felt as if he was pissed off and empathetic at the same time in which he never felt both emotions conflicting at once. A frown started to form on his lips though he forced them shut out of his own sheer annoyance as he followed after her. He watched as she continued to look at flowers along the path and in a way wished she would just grab anything and bring it home to leave. It was true he could just turn and leave her there it wasn't his responsibility to care about anyone other than himself, maybe his family as well. However, his family was not one to honestly worried about letting the other one die or be in harms way, you learned to fend for yourself. "You not nothing no one is nothing," he replied the annoyance ebbing into his darkened voice, "what would lead you to say such a stupid thing mare?"

As the mare continued down the path, she did not expect the stallion to follow after. Her eyes had lost their hint of joy from looking at the flowers. The mare appeared more withdrawn, and less interactive with the environment. Her tail reflected her mood by curling underneath her body, much like a hurt canine with its tail between its legs. "You know nothing about me. You don't know my worth." She said quietly, not quite sure why the stallion wanted to know. Not wanting to upset the stallion further, she did not answer his last question.

"Your wrong," he replied quickly as a matter of fact, "everyone has their worth, no one is nothing, you are part of the living and with that unfortunately if you want it or not you have a right to being someone and something." This he he knew all to well despite a rather disfigured appearance he still had the right of being something even if it was a creature who lurked in the shadows, dwelling in his own self loathe. He watched noticing her tail curling and her mood even worsening than before when she was looking at the flowers, he couldn't tell if maybe it was just his company that brough tit on. Maybe it was his own appearance that brought out such emotion or maybe it was just his own words? Either way it irked him even more, like a wound that festered and filled with sand, grating with annoyance, "do you delight in picking flowers despite being ordered?"
