For weeks now he had been on the run. Stopping only in small villages when he needed supplies. But now he sat perched atop a hundred foot tree looking out over the forest and seeing a city of in the distance. He thought he had more or less an hour or so before the people pursuing him caught up to him if he waited her any longer. Rai decided stopping the city in order to disguise himself would be a smart idea perhaps the pursuers would move on thinking he did. They knew his pattern well which is the only reason why he was considering entering the city.
Rai never liked cities and the men who were tracking him knew that so he would use this to his advantage. Letting go of the tree branch he was using to steady himself against the wind at this height he fell into a free fall, a straight drop for a hundred feet. He twisted his body in ways to avoid every tree branch on the way down, it was an elegant display of dexerity and focus and he adjusted his body quickly but with a deep amount of grace to land on his feet. Where he hit made a slight crunching sound as his feet made two craters of equal size that were not deeper that have a foot. This suggested he had evenly distributed his wait as he landed to allow for a perfect landing.
He raised his head and looked to the setting sun he would use that to find the city as he knew it would set behind the buildings of the place. Rai took a few steps to burst into a run when he stopped and turned ducking instantly as a few kunai knives flew over his head, Blast, I didn't they they were that quick! He had none of his shadow runes active so he was lit up like torch to these assassins.
Retreiving two kunai from his belt he through them at the one he saw advancing on him. He knew there was a groupf of at least three, Rai however was prepared for more. The two knives were met by the assassin's sword but the breif distraction was all Rai had needed to close the gap. Infusing his electrical magic into his fist he aimed the punch straight for the man's nose, not only was it enough to stun him the blow from the fist could easily break his nose. The assassin fell back a few feet and went limp.
Soon after that two others through a torrent of kunai knives from the trees, Rai knew it was only two because they were using a low level trick that used two ninja to attack from multiple places to induce the illusion that there were more that what was truly present. Moving quickly he ran out of the circle and out of their aim. Hiding behind a tree, he stood and calmed himself listening to anything he could find. Rai heard the sound of crunching tree bark directly above him and a singluar ninja ran down the tree's trunk at him.
Stepping forward and unsheathing his katana that had two blades prependicular to eachother he blocked the assassin's sword strike. Rai took the opportunity to pour the electrical energy through his blades heating them up to cut through the enemy's katana like warm butter. The man didn't even get to scream as the points of his blade drove a killing blow to the assassin's cranium.
The final one seemed scared and tried to run away, retreiving two more kunai knives he threw them aiming for the Achilles tendon on each foot. They struck severing it and with a sharp femine scream she fell flat on her face. Rai walked over his blade still out he slashed the first assassin's throat even though he was stunned the man would bleed out in just under a minute, and without hesitation he drove the two bladed katana straight through the last assassin's heart. The blades electrical charge coursed through her body making it spasm and made her mouth froth before she caught flame, not from the electricity but because she was a vampire.
Rai was tired of killing his own kind, but as he set the other two ablaze to make sure that they were not vampires as well he hated them for hating him. He erected himself from the burning bodies. Retrieving his nearby equippment he began his long walk to the city.
