RULEZ. We has them.
1. Responses MUST be written in RP-form to count. Responses do not need to be massive. Something like 200-words would suffice. 2. ONE response per prompt from me. 3. You MUST clearly state your choice at the top of every post. Copy + paste is fine, but make it bold or something obvious. You only need to state which choice you're currently reacting to- there's no need to keep track of all your responses. 4. 24 hours to respond- not a minute longer! Whether or not I have posted the new prompt at exactly the 24-hour mark is irrelevant; any posts after that point will not count and the participant is disqualified. 5. Absolutely NO OOC in this thread. PM all questions to Khryssie, or post them in the main thread please.
EDITED to answer questions asked ~ 6. No, you do not NEED a pokemon from the shop to participate. You can enter just your human character. 7. You may ONLY bring a pokemon if you have one from the shop. You may not make one up for the sake of the event/RP, sorry.
NOW. Onto the first prompt... =B
The sun rises slowly your first day on Lucky Island. It throws a magnificent mixture of yellows, soft pinks, and oranges streaking across the horizon as it crests. The ambient temperature on the island is mild- as usual. Warm enough you wouldn't need a jacket to go outside, but the air (when stirred by a rare breeze) has a slight chill to it.
Whether you're staying with one of the local families on the outskirts of the main part of the island, on a farm somewhere within the island's hills, or in the small inn towards the center of town- your morning serenade is all the same. Its a droning buzz, something you don't even notice at first, but seems to grow louder as you become more awake and aware of your surroundings. The buzzing noise is the reason you are here on the island; its the sound produced by swarms of bug Pokemon, overtaking the island for its rich supply of crops.
The sound permeates your very being, making it impossible to stay in bed any longer. After rising and readying yourself for your first day on the island, you notice a note. It reads as follows,
"Good Morning!
We ask that all of those who have answered our plea for help with this little... problem of ours gather by the inn, in the center of town. We would like to provide you with adequate supplies and directions before you begin helping to clean up our island. Be warned! The swarms of bugs (and other Pokemon) can be overwhelming and may cause you injury and bodily harm. Please, refrain from venturing out alone!"
What do you do?
A- Laugh at the note's warning and throw it into the trash before heading out alone (or, with ONE pokemon of choice). You're tough- you can handle anything! B- Grab what supplies you brought for yourself before heading into the center of town, to the inn. Hey! Some extra (read: FREE!) supplies won't hurt!
If you choose to bring a pokemon with you for the CYOA, you MUST state which pokemon you are bringing. You are NOT allowed to change pokemon mid-adventure. You MUST state your choice regardless of Option A or B.

PRIZES!
Since I know this is what everyone is looking for! Prizes will be announced later. They ARE determined, but I want to be sneaky and such. =B Also, I may have to tweak things depending on how many people make it through the responses, ETC. I want to leave myself some leeway and room to change things without upsetting as many people possible! <3 If only one person makes it to the end, then they get the grand prize. Easy. There may or may not be several, smaller, consolation prizes raffled off among some of the other participants who made it farther along. If MULTIPLE people make it through ALL the prompts [or, if I have multiple people who suddenly all choose the DEATH PROMPT MUAHAHAHA jk jk] then the grand prize will be raffled off at the end. SO. We shall see, my lovelies.

B.
While Lila’s first response was to tell the note to go to hell and tromp off into the unknown like she usually did, the inclusion of ‘supplies’ stopped her. Her own stock was ridiculously low, considering she’d used up all her money to get to this island and it wasn’t like she could battle for cash. Momo, the Ditto, was hardly a fighter. He was sitting on the window sill now, wobbling back and forth, excited by the adventure. Sure he was a pro at transforming but he would rather use that to make friends than attack anyone. Thus it seemed they’d be stopping by the town center first.
“Come on Momo.” Lila peered out the window beside him, seeing a few trainers go past. A Pidgey was sitting on the opposite roof preening itself and she grinned. “Flying will give us an edge today.” She suggested as she grabbed up her bag. The Ditto seemed to giggle and then transformed, copying the Pidgey and launching himself out of the window.
Lila hurried down the stairs, waved goodbye to the family that had agreed to let her stay and began striding towards the town centre, Momo soaring above her.

While weaving a few small pokeballs through her fingers, before making them disappear with the sleight of hand the magician/pokemon trainer was known for, Fay read the note several times over and over. It seemed legit enough. Head on over to the inn, get some free supplies, meet the other trainers, get to know them and their pokemon, maybe make some friends and extinguish a problem. Simple right? Or so Fay was hoping at least. Casting a glance towards the sky, her Fearow, Talon, soared over head, circling like a vulture looking for its prey. The air of the hills and rolling plains had a delightful smell, for both Fay and her Fearow. She enjoyed watching him circle, dive and practice his moves for tonight’s coming magic show. The wind ruffled several of his dark red and brown feathers as he made his slow, yet ever so graceful descent. Alighting next to her, she stroked his head with a chuckle, letting her fingers run through his pristine feathers. “Are you ready my friend?” she cooed to the large bird like pokemon, blinking her eyes, which just happened to be sporting two colored contacts today. One blue, one green. Such was the habit of this particular person who both aimed to entertain and protect. “Feearrrrrrroowww. Feearr, row rooow.” Talon responded with a nod of his head. He was ready to show the world what he could do. Puffing out his chest in pride, he stood tall as he led his trainer into the center of the town and made for the inn.

A- Laugh at the note's warning and throw it into the trash before heading out alone (or, with ONE pokemon of choice). You're tough- you can handle anything! While laughing wasn't exactly part of Koorie's vocabulary, she did make a 'tch'ing sound as she crumpled the note and tossed it into the waste bin. Making a rather irritated face, she quickly grabbed her shoulder-bag and swung it on, reaching in to double check that she had the basic essentials with her, including a change of socks "Miu, lets go." She barked the command into her room as she left, waiting until a shiny-hybrid vulpix padded out into the hallway with her. Koorie, her long curly aqua-blue hair pulled back into a pony-tail, was sporting a button up shirt and a pair of Capri-khakis as she glided down the stairs. Her running shoes hardly made a sound on the carpeting of the house. Giving a nod to the mother of the household, she slipped out the door, vulpix in step behind her, and stepped out into the new day, making her way to the middle of the town.

Blinking at the note with faint fear, Siara sighed and began getting ready for the day. The swarm was really gonna get to her head if she did not move out. She greeted the family with a smile when she wandered into the kitchen, noting Ryda, her Ponyta, poking her head into one of the windows, neighing in happiness upon seeing her owner and munching some of the homemade pie.
"Morning, Ryda!" she chirped, patting the Pokemon on the muzzle. Siara nodded and turned away to quickly gather her supplies and stuff them into her bag - she was not one for organisation, guess that is why her sister always reprimands her for that. Smiling, she gestured for Ryda to meet her up the front and went to thank the family. Waving to them as she made it to the open front door, she was greeted with her Ponyta nuzzling and licking her face.
"Ryda! Stop that!" Laughing, she pushed her pokemon away a little and strapped her bag to herself. Sighing yet again, she turned to her pokemon and nodded. The swarms will be a bit difficult to get through, but with Ryda with her, Siara knows she will survive.
"Let's go!"

LT8 mumbled a bit, wanting to glare at the sun for waking her up, but of course, that would have been a bad idea. She sighed and slowly got up, not wanting to get up so quickly. Slowly blinking her eyes open, she noticed something blocking her vision. Crossing her eyes a bit, she saw that it was a piece of paper, and it was attached to her forehead. Grabbing at it and turning it over she read the note.
Bug pokemon. Those are always fun. She said sarcastically in her head. But she figured she might as well help, the farmers that were letting her stay were doing it out of the kindness of their hearts so she figured she could repay them in some way. Finally getting to her usual morning routine of cleaning herself up and putting on clean clothes, she ate her breakfast before grabbing her backpack that she usually carried, including some antidotes, parlyz heals, and other items that might come in handy with bug pokemon, she thanked her hosts and headed out the door to towards the town center, hoping that it there wouldn't be a bunch of beedrill or pinsir taking over the town.

Ivy folded the note several times before sticking it in her back pocket. She stood up the bed, which more resembled a nests of sorts. The blankets were calling her back to sleep, but she knew what she needed to do. Ivy grabbed her backpack from the chair that was sitting in the corner of her room. She looked inside at the little checklist she had created. Arriving on the island only last night, she was more aware of the bug problem. She was almost one of the pests in a sense. She had come to the island to get some natural ingredients to create antidiotes. Currently, she only had the ingredients to get rid of poison and burns. Nothing she found too usefull. Hopefully after the problem was solved, the locals wouldn't mind if she collected some herbs and plants.
Walking out the door, Ivy thanked the old couple who she was staying with. They were a cute elderly couple, who seemed to love eachother more than life. A sigh escaped her lips as she walked to the inn, fiddeling with the long sleeve sweatshirt she had put on. It was cold, plus she didn't really care to get stung by a pokemon. At a young age she was taught that when people offered you things, you were suppose to take it. It would be rude to reject items. Plus, she was curious to see who she was working with. She had heard a large number of people had come to the island to help get rid of the bugs.

B- Grab what supplies you brought for yourself before heading into the center of town, to the inn. Hey! Some extra (read: FREE!) supplies won't hurt!Todd adjusted his glasses as he stared down at the note in his hand. While his usual response would be to just go off on his own, today he was trying to fit in and he didn’t want to draw too much attention to himself if possible. Casually he picked up the camera that hug from his neck and snapped a photo of the umbreon at his feet. Nazgul sat obediently still, glancing up at him and squinting at the flash of the camera. His expression suggested he was not amused by the charade they had to pull. Nor the slightest bit interested. Todd smirked, “Now look, we have a job to do. We’re just here to survey and not interfere. So for once you have to behave yourself. You know the drill.” He adjusted the backpack on his shoulders, “but, if we just so happen to pick up a pokemon only the way, well, then that’s just a bonus! Isn't it.” he flashed Nazgul a mischievous grin before heading off towards the inn in the center of town.

Caius muffled a yawn as he stretched himself awake, taking paced, measured steps towards what he hoped was the general direction of the inn. A few strands of straw clung to his hair, and a damp, deflated backpack was all he held with him, save for the note in his hand. He pressed his lips together as he perused it once more, frowning slightly as he did so. Under normal circumstances, he would have left it be, but an unfortunate accident on his boat trip to the island (which included a wretched fall, a hungry pair of majikarp, and the loss of most of his possessions, with the exception of what he held with him; although, thankfully, a kindly farmer had offered him the night on the straw bed in his barn after he had managed to reach shore) had him more than eager to see what type of supplies he'd be able to get and what directions would help him avoid most of the danger (as he had no Pokémon of his own). At this point, he had no particular desire to truly help, and if things turned out for the worse, at the very least he could take what he was given and leave which, in his opinion, was much better than fighting with rattatas over what food he could find while he tried to retain some dignity as he begged a sailor to take him back to his home island, free of charge.
No, it would be better this way.
Or so he hoped.

"Oh dear. A bug Pokemon invasion?" Flor read the note thoughtfully. She wouldn't have thought it would be such a problem, since no wild Pokemon was a match for a well-trained one. But here was a request for help. And if that wasn't proof enough of the urgency, she could've sworn the buzz of bugs filled the air. "Well, I don't know how much help I would be." She sighed. Her only Pokemon was a Meganium named Kinome. Grass against bug... They wouldn't be able to do much but they had to do something. Sitting back and relaxing wasn't their style. At least the inn was offering free supplies to help. She made that their first stop before confronting the bug Pokemon swarm.

Now she knew why she came here. With a sigh Syt stretched, sitting up on the bed she had rented in a nice old farmhouse on the outskirts of town. It was a small room but it would suffice for her purpose there, to help with they're little "problem". Getting out of bed, she got dressed and began to pack up her bag with the days necessities when she spied the note.
After glancing it over, she gave a brief nod. She didn't have that many supplies, or a Pokémon of her own, so going into town seemed the smart option. Maybe she could find someone to buddy up with to make the task easier and even more fun. She was a fan of most Pokémon and didn’t have a problem helping people out, especially if it meant possible catching a nifty Pokémon.
Tying her long silvery blue hair back into a ponytail she shouldered her pack before heading out of the above barn guest room and towards the center of town to meet the others.

B- Grab what supplies you brought for yourself before heading into the center of town, to the inn. Hey! Some extra (read: FREE!) supplies won't hurt! This morning was the same as the last, and the previous one before it. One hand slunk out from beneath the warmth of the covers, reaching and feeling around the cold floor before grabbing ahold of a boot. This was then chucked at the nearest wall before the hand retreated. The figure in the bed tossed and turned before sitting up, glaring at the wall. “Fine! I'm up,” she grumbled. She hated swarms, especially when they were bug pokemon. It didn't help that her current team consisted of a deer with psychic powers and a delicious magikarp, but what could you do? The trainer shuffled out of bed and got dressed, wishing she didn't spend using all those repels when she did. Weren't those things flammable? With a lighter, she could have turned it into a flame thrower. Would it count? Probably not, not to mention she'd probably get arrested by an Officer Jenny for pokecide. Then she saw the note. Who was in her room?! Where was her complimentary hand soap?! Where – oh. Right, right, she came to “volunteer” with the bug problem. The trainer picked the note up and made sure her pokemon were with her. Even though her Stantler was a normal-type, she didn't think his psychic powers would be useful. The trainer left her magikarp in her pokeball for now, and would bring her magikarp out to do battle when the need arose. Just like that. Really. Prepared as best as she could, the trainer left her room in search of the inn's free complimentary breakfast, supplies, and directions.

Shaera had been staying on the island with a few of her classmates. It was a truly beautiful location but they at least had to make the pretense of being there for a purpose. They were all students, students at Lucky Island for the purpose of studying the insect pokemon that lived there.
She didn't notice the note immediately. In fact, it took her a somewhat embarrassing amount of time to see it at all. Shaera had not only eaten breakfast, but started refining one of her sketches when she noticed the slip of paper. She glanced over at it in confusion before picking it up and reading it.
When she had finished, she gasped in surprise. That sounded rather urgent, didn't it? Still, she didn't see the cause for alarm. She was more curious than anything. Smiling to herself, Shaera fastened her wide brimmed straw hat onto her head and smoothed out her skirts. She'd go on over to see what the fuss was all about, but she wouldn't worry about it.

Sabine pressed the note neatly between the pages of her notebook as she exited the barn. Sure, the farmer who'd put her up for the night had offered her a room inside the farm house, but the trainer had declined preferring to sleep with her sceptile. Dekel, the sceptile, in turn preferred not sleeping in his pokeball, which meant the barn for the both of them.
So sleeping on hay was weird, but not altogether unpleasant (Deke had made a serviceable pillow, at least until he wanted breakfast. Damn, that tongue of his was long and perfectly suited for a wake up wet willy, AUGH). She made a note of that, then a quick jot of her plans to head to the inn. First rule of Pokemon freeloading training: 'Take everything that isn't nailed down or too heavy, especially if it's free.'
"And anything that can be pried loose isn't nailed down," Sabine murmured, poking the inquisitive Dekel in the nose with her pen. The sceptile snorted, deciding the pages of the book were not worth eating as an after breakfast snack. "It would have to be bugs, wouldn't it? We didn't consider this well, did we?" she asked him, absently stowing her notebook and pen away with the rest of her supplies. Ahh, the miracles of canvas packs and all their many pockets.
"But that's what Rockslide's for, right?" Her lips quirked into a small grin as the duo set out towards the inn. Hopefully those free supplies were good and not already picked over.
