Mirsajadi It had been a while since Mirsajadi went to visit his friend Arezoo. Zoey, as she liked to be called. It wasn't that he was avoiding her for any reason. They hadn't fought, to the best of his knowledge their parents did not know about their friendship, and if they did they had not seen fit to forbid it. No, it was nothing like that. It was simply that things had been busy and Mirsajadi had been going through some difficult times. It was hard - very hard - for him to watching his half-siblings growing up, going away from the pride, coming back with banu, and then starting families of their own. Not because he particularly missed the family members, or even because he envied them. It was just incredibly frustrating to have the new cubs outstrip him, growing up faster than he and his littermates for whatever reason. He had begun to wonder if perhaps the problem with him wasn't just mental, but also physical, and if he and his full-blooded siblings would ever grow up, or if they had perhaps been cursed to keep their childhood size forever. But either way, today he wanted to go visit his friend Zoey and tell her his good news, so that was where he headed, habit making him take a circuitous route which would deter people from tailing him and finding out where he was going. Arezoo She had kept herself busy, trying to talk her father out of the pads he kept mentioning. She had had about enough of trying to give reasons they werent good enough. They werent pretty enough, they werent smart enough, they couldnt have good enough conversation, she had an entire list as to why they werent right for her. Father had grown incredibly annoyed but he had given up for the time being. Or at least he hadnt brought any more Pads to her attention. She liked it that way though, even if her fairy tale romance just never seemed like it was going to happen. What was wrong with her? Why was it that no one special wanted her attentions? She shrugged, it was their problem if they didnt like her. She was happy being who she was, and she had friends who would attest to that. She had noticed that Mirsa hadn't been by lately. She had wondered if maybe that meant his father had found him a pleasant Banu. She knew she would be a bit dissappointed if he had...But she knew it was not her place to pick her Pad. Hopefully she'd end up with someone that made her feel like Mirsa did though, otherwise she wasnt sure she would live a happy life. She sat in the sunshine, looking up almost as if she was praying, but she was allowing the sun to warm up her face. Eyes closed, her blue pelt sparkled in the sunshine.

Mirsajadi Mirsajadi approached Vizier Faiz's den from an oblique angle and from behind so that anyone inside would have no chance to see him coming until he had already peered around the corner and ascertained whether he actually wanted to emerge into full view. Fortunately there was no one to see him. Well, not quite no one. Zoey was outside taking in the sun, it seemed, which was convenient, because otherwise Mirsa would have had to look all over the place for her, which would have gone a good way to spoiling his enthusiasm for his news. "You're given a choice," he said as he walked up behind her, deciding to dispense with boring things like greetings. "You can scream and panic because there's someone behind you who may be larger, stronger, faster, and smarter, and possibly mean you harm, thus bringing people running to your aid, or you can hold very still and wait for them to get closer, find out what they want, and then destroy them yourself. Which do you choose?" Arezoo She hadnt been expecting his voice, and when it hit her ears her first instinct was to whip around. However before she turned to look, the voice registered. Maybe a little deeper than it used to be, but still her best friends voice. She smiled, flicking an ear, and continued staring forward. What would she do in that situation? Well she supposed she had just answered that question.. but would she have done the same with a stranger? No, no she wouldnt have. But she didnt want to tell him that she would run like a little girl in the face of danger. Or at the very least, if they snuck up on her. She might be able to be brave if it required face to face contact. "Hmm. Thats a difficult question, though Im assuming you mean more than just yourself in that scenario?" She asked, chuckled, and waiting for him to approach her. She was still small, and she had this undying curiousity to see how big he had grown. His voice was so much deeper than before, that she couldnt help but enjoy the sound of it. He almost sounded princelike, royal.. She was likely just imagining things, but she liked her imagination..Sometimes it made her feel special. "Its been awhile, Mirsa." She said, turning her head only enough to see him from the corner of her eyes, her eyes still not meeting him directly.

Mirsajadi Mirsajadi didn't really need Zoey to answer him. He'd already observed her reaction, and though it was probably tempered by the fact that she had likely recognized his voice, he got the feeling that she probably wouldn't react too differently if she didn't recognize the person. Himself, he thought he would probably not turn around, not look, not say anything. When a person was smaller, like he was, it was important to be able to project an aura of fearlessness and casual indifference to danger, even if it seemed ludicrous to do so. "Yeah, well. Family things came up. You know how they do," he said, stepping around her so that she wouldn't have to spy on him from out of the corners of her eyes. He spoke with a sort of indifference which would, to those who knew him, indicate that he had something he considered very interesting on the tip of his tongue that he wanted to say, but would keep to himself until or unless someone asked. He had given all the hints that he planned to on the subject, namely mentioning his family at all. Since he usually didn't, he figured the fact that he had would indicate there was something worth hearing about. Arezoo He brought his family, and she perked a bit. Looking at him curiously, she watched him come into view. He was larger, maybe not as large as hed get just yet.. But even his mane was about grown in. She marveled at how fast others grew. Sure, it didnt seem all that fast until they actually did get noticably bigger.. But once they did you wondered where your time went. She wasnt sure if he was waiting for her to ask about his family, but something in her ju st knew that she would be alright asking. She nodded a bit, though her heart panged. She tried to stay indifferent, really she did. But he was her best friend, and the only male she really trusted. She had a hard time not being attracted to him..Especially now that he was bigger than she was! She had grown to be a smaller adolescent, and would likely be a small adult as well. She was taking after her mothers dainty size, or so she assumed. She eyed the stripes on Mirsa's pelt, and then shook her head to bring her back to reality. He wasnt her prince, she felt sure he had absolutely no interest in being. Oh well, she could be happy with what they were. She just hoped her future pad allowed her visits with her friend. "Oh? Is that so? Not every day you mention family, Mirsa. Something special going on?" She asked. Usually he either didnt speak of them at all, or he spoke of them negatively. He wasnt really a family guy, or so she had gotten from his conversations with her. Not like her, she was her daddy's girl, but that was hard to match up to..A father and daughter. "Do explain!" She said, turning her head to look at him, and letting her tail flick him. The sun cascaded off her pelt and she felt like she looked like a giant blue star. The sun was so warm, and just seemed to make everything that much happier.

Mirsajadi "Anwar and Zarha had cubs," he said, flopping down on his side and looking completely at home where he was. This, too, was a form of defiance, since protocol dictated that he should not be so comfortable around another pad's den and banu. What was more interesting than that, or should have been to the carefl observer, was that Mirsajadi's face hadn't twisted into its usual scowl when he mentioned his older half-brother, Anwar, who he considered to be his greatest rival for his father's attention and approval. In truth, Anwar probably didn't occupy that position, but he of all Mirsajadi's relatives had seen the striped pesar at his weakest, and that was unbearable to the ruby-eyed boy. He would hate him for that alone. He was momentarily distracted from his purpose when her tail flicked him. For a lion who was very much aware of everything that went around him, and particularly aware of anything which could possibly relate to him, things like physical touch were impossible to ignore completely. He also didn't much care for being touched, but it was useless to try to make that point to Zoey, and would likely only hurt her feelings if he tried. "I like one of them, I think. This little banu called Bad - Badiah, really. She looks a lot like my father's Ukoo, but she's a lot quicker I think. Mentally that is." Arezoo She knew he wasnt entirely comfortable with physical touch, and sometimes she forgot such things. If father saw her he would likely rip her a new one. She was not supposed to converse with Pads, unless they were to be hers. And she was also not to be so talkative around them either. Pads liked their females quiet, or at least most did. Any form of defiance from them was a slight against the entire harem. She hated that.. She knew that she would never, ever be a Kajira, but she hoped for her childrens sake they followed hte same path. She was an exception when it came to the females of the pride. So far, no one was too offended by her forms of communication, and socialization. She wasnt sure where she had gotten so touchy, but she had just grown thinking that it was okay.. Even if it wasnt here. "Thats interesting." She said, waiting for him to continue. Surely he wasnt just desiring to announce the birth of the cubs. She had heard that a few births had taken place in the pride. It made her happy to know that they were a fruitful pride, but still she panged for her own. She was likely being such a girl, but she couldnt help but pine for her future. She was so tired of feeling like she wouldnt be going anywhere for a good while. "Oh thats good!" SHe said, happy that he had a family member he finally seemed to like. Shed never really heard good things about his siblings, and she knew he hated Anwar.. "I dont know Ukoo personally, but if shes smart, thats a very good thing. What are the other cubs l ike?" She said, smiling.

Mirsajadi "Actually, Ukoo's sad a lot of the time. I'm pretty sure she hates it here," Mirsajadi said. In this he wasn't feigning indifference. He really didn't care that his father's banu was iserable and despised her life as part of his father's harem. It wasn't his problem. It wasn't even his father's problem. It was hers. "The other cubs are boring I would guess. Small and squirmy like cubs usually are. I didn't actually get around to seeing them." The irony in this statement was not lost on him. He knew that he ws nothing like the size a lion his age ought to be. Like Zoey, he would probably grow up to be very small and slight, but with any luck he would at least develop a lean-limbed kind of strength to go with his lithe build. "Bad, though. She's really clever, I think. I mean, she picks up on things very quickly, from what I saw, and she's proud. Very proud." Ordinarily that sort of pride would not have impressed Mirsajadi very much, but something about Bad made her stand out, and it wasn't quite her pride, but that was the closest Mirsajadi could come to describing it. He would not think to apply the word "independent" to a banu with a positive connotation. "Anyway. How're you?" Arezoo If he had told her out loud that it was Ukoos fault she wasnt happy, Zoey likely would have looked at him rather cross. NOt that she had -any- right to.. But she wouldnt have been able to hide the gaze. She felt everyone deserved to be happy, but then again there she was thinking about her fairy tales again. What if she just had her entire view on life wrong.. What if she was entirely sugar coating a terribly lonely situation. Zoey liked to think herself rather independent in terms of herself. Sure it wasnt an endearing thing in the U'W, in fact it was looked down upon. But she didnt have to ever say it aloud. She could easily think it, and just know she wasnt the needy banu that were around. Her father had raised her to be strong, but being strong sometimes made her feel like she was disobeying her prides rules, and sometimes...that depressed her more than words could explain. She had a hard time sometimes coming to terms with being the intelligent, pleasant, yet rowdy daughter of the Vizier. She had a reputation to uphold..Whats worse? She had her fathers to uphold too. She listened to his stories of the cubs, and when he spoke of hte other cubs, she wondered if there was something special about this Bad. Apparently she got his attention more than any of the other cubs that had been born in her litter. She wondered what made her so special, as she didnt understand how his description of her made her any different than other cubs. Though then she got back to thinking.. Maybe she only thought that way because she had been similar as a cub. Though she had never spoken her pride openly, she felt it. "Im good.. I missed you though." She admitted, though to Zoey, the truth was the best policy.

Mirsajadi Mirsajadi rolled his eyes. Like physical contact, admissions of things like having missed people made him uncomfortable, and like any male of the Ukuucha'Wafalme, he covered his discomfort with bravado and sarcasm. And why shouldn't he? It wasn't as if he was going to go around telling people he missed them. Doing so would only earn him scorn, which he could bear no better than he could bear being pitied. "I can't really stay," he said. "I just thought you might be pleased to learn that I've found someone in my family whose presence I can actually stand without wanting to eviscerate them." Eviscerate was a new word. He liked it. Arezoo Sometimes she thought that MIrsa was just infuriating. He was such a guy! Ugh. She did her best to hide the disappointment that he hadnt said anything back. Mainly for the reason she had never expected him to respond back. But she could hope right? She sighed, and listened to him speak. She was happy for him, she was happy he found a family member he liked. It was about time. However it didnt do anything to soothe her own fears about her future. She normally didnt inform him of her worry, or her fears. She didnt need to bog him down with further issues, and what would he care, anyway? She laid down on her belly, blinking a little and nodding. Sure, of course he had to go. Father would likely return soon. Part of her hoped he did, even though she knew he'd never offer a son of Tariqs as her pad.. That, and Mirsa wouldnt have accepted her just yet anyway. She shook her head, annoyed at herself. She had to stop thinking like that, she was going to dissappoint herself, and possibly miss a good Pad that was interested in her elsewhere with those thoughts,s os he did her best to push 'em aside. "Oh, okay.. Well I hope you come back and see me more.. Since father is out alot more now, and such.. Im alone alot of the time. Its kinda depressing." She teased as if she was joking about being depressed, but sometimes even the funniest and outlandish of jokes had a bit of truth to them.

Mirsajadi "We'll see," Mirsajadi said as he got to his feet. "I really can't make any promises." He paused before he actually began seriously walking away and looked back at her over his shoulder. "Besides, at the rate I'm growing, I'll probably never be allowed to leave the pride, so I'll be around for a while anyway." The fact that he was a seer probably should have given him some insight into the future, and granted him an awareness that saying something like that was almost guaranteed to effect changes in his life and growth rate. But he didn't think of himself as a seer and he didn't believe in jinxing things. "See you."
