Now why did Negaversers have to be such pussies sometimes?

Chaonis had to wonder this as he ran down the darkened street. It was early morning, no later than two o clock by anyone's watch, and nothing was stirring. There were no people milling around, no shady nighttime dwellers looking for trouble. Even they had their bed times, it seemed. At least in this neighborhood, on the opposite side of the city to the 'bad' side.

That didn't mean there weren't bad things happening in it, though. Chaonis had been on patrol, after stopping in a small store to borrow some candy bars to keep his focus through the night. He had found that being powered up made 'opening locks' rather simple indeed. In any case, he had been looking around for legitimate bad guys and found a Nega looking ready for trouble. They had only fought for a short period before the sissy took off running.

And he was surprisingly fast.

So Chaonis was on the hunt for the little guy, wondering if the coward had peed himself in his hurry to get away from the Super Senshi of Danger. Not that Chaonis could blame him: as far as he was concerned, bad guys out to hurt innocent people had every right to be damn scared of him. Holding a Milky Way in his mouth, wrapper half off the chocolate bar, he slowed down to look around the street he had just reached.

"Come on out and fight and stop hiding like the little girl you are!" He called.

"Who are you calling a little girl?" Raite looked on with a dark expression, wondering who exactly was the culprit here -- judging from the coffee previously in hand now dumped on top of his head, the dark liquid dripping down his face. Raite held the negaverser in his other hand by his collar, who looked pretty sheepish. it was only pure luck that the negaverser had managed to stumble upon another fellow member. But glimpsing at Chaonis, his expression turned to fear once more. "G-Gyah! The senshi!"

On the other hand, Raite's smiles curved into a bloodthirsty smile. "Chaonis." Raite addressed, remembering this particular senshi. They had last met at Elysion, save for the other negaverser's .. interruption.

Raite dropped the negaverser in hand, who seemed all too glad to leave this to his comrade.

"Get in my way and I'll kill you." Raite was in no mood for any more interruptions. Especially not after the last time. The other negaverser nodded immediately, all too hasty to save his own hide.

"Let's fight." Wooden tonfas appeared in his hands --Raite's quick actions could be interpreted as rude. But on the other hand, if one knew the negaverse lieutenant, it was his eagerness that belied the fact he held Chaonis on the same level of skill. Chanis was one of the few senshi, including Taranis as well, that Raite found worthy of his time.

Chaonis heard the voice and his ears perked, almost literally. He felt a kind of jump under his skin, his head turning instinctively to spot the source of the voice that had such an impact on him. He found himself grinning from ear to ear, though he was scowling.

"Well, well, if it isn't my good friend, uh? Oh. Sorry, I guess you're not important enough to me for me to know your name. I'm touched you remember me, though."

Of course, they had only just seen each other in one of the large battles in Elysion. Chaonis owed the guy for a few things there. It seemed that the night was looking up. What had started as a stupid hunt after a wussy Nega not worth his time led him to an opponent who not only knew how to fight, but had fought with Chaonis before. That meant he was more dangerous than those oblvious to the senshi's style.

And that made things more fun.

Likewise, Chaonis was no fool when it came to Raite. He knew the Nega was strong, and very well trained. A natural fighter with skill, and those damn tonfas. He nodded as Raite cut to the chase, lifting his fists.

"Warning: Earthquake zone!!" The senshi called. Like his previous stage, calling his attack granted him a boost of power and speed, only this time he had an added advantage. More control. Not complete, but certainly enough to give him an edge. He charged straight for Raite, then dropped suddenly to swing a kick at the lieutenant's legs.

Raite didn't pick up on Chaonis's bait, recognizing it as mere bravado.

"Warning: Earthquake zone!!" A different attack this time, and his outfit as well. The negaverse had been informed that senshi could upgrade, along with their move set and strength level. This was the first time Raite had experienced it though --

The large tremors beneath the ground was too quick, too sudden for the lieutenant to hold his balance, falling beneath his own weight. Added to Chaonis's sudden kick, Raite was tossed a few feet away, skidding on the ground and landed on his side.

Raite picked himself up, his body already aching from the force of Chaonis's attacks. He's improved. Raite silently observed with satisfaction. If he hadn't, Chaonis would soon be killed. With all the generals running about, Raite knew they had no qualms about killing senshi.

Still, Raite wasn't one to let himself be deterred by the fact. He picked himself amidst the broken concrete fron Chaonis's senshi attack, using the negaverse's enhanced speed to his advantage to advance. There was a fraction of a pause where Raite was only a few inches away from the super senshi, one arm with a wooden tofa already equipped to slash at Chaonis's chest.

Chaonis was quickly remembering why he had liked the first fight with Raite so much. Their second encounter had been brief and Chaonis hadn't exactly enjoyed his night in Elysion, and didn't count that as a proper battle. No, this time they were on even footing, no one else around, one on one.

He felt like his muscles were tightening, coiling in anticipation, acid ready to spill into them and make them burn from the work out he was sure he was going to get. But the idea of fatigue was a far and distant concern: He was not going to let something like that get in the way. There was no room for getting tired.

And he was only just getting started, so why worry about something like that?

His senses were keen, his eyes sharp, his ears perked, his fingers tingling. He slid along the flood after his kick, rearing backwards as Raite came after him. Had to stay on his toes: the guy was fast. He remembered that. Chaonis liked to think he was faster now, too. And wanted to prove it.

"Same old fighting style, huh?" he taunted, though it was a good fighting style. He pulled his arm up to try and block, the hit making his arm ache immediately. He punched forward immediately, though, while Raite was close.

"You're going down this time!"

Chanonis's punch made direct contact with Raite's lower stomach, causing the lieutenant to release a strangled breath. His hand dropped the wooden weapon at Chanis feet as a result. Raite's movements seemed to be significantly delayed as he jumped backwards, one hand holding onto the injured area. He winched when his fingers grazed the aching spot, the pain that lingered foreshadowed a deep bruise.

"Not quite." He dropped the remaining tonfa, the wooden weapon sliding across the floor a few meters away. He intended to rely on his own skills rather than the negaverse's when it came to this particular senshi. He jumped up into the air, intending to land with a heel kick on Chaonis's head.

They were two opposing fighting styles. Whereas Chaonis preferred his hands for punches, Raite preferred his feet for long ranged kicks. If they had been on the same side, they certainly would have been each other's ideal partners. But on opposing sides, they were perfectly matched enemies.

Chaonis grinned when his punch landed, but he couldn't take a time out to do a victory dance about it. He had to follow through with his attacks, of course. He moved his foot when he saw the tonfa fall, trying to kick it away from Raite's immediate ability to pick it up. Stupid wussy Nega's and their weapons.

He was surprised, then, when Raite purposefully dropped his other weapon. His last remaining one, Chaonis assumed.

The grin returned.

"Hand to hand, huh?" He said, tensing when the other moved, watching him as he leapt into the air. Chaonis kept his feet on the ground, until he realized he was about to get kicked. He didn't duck, instead pushing his palms upward at the oncoming leg as he pulled himself backwards just in case, hoping to throw Raite completely off course in the middle of the air.

And not get kicked in the face in the process.

Negas were fast, but since powering up he felt he could compete with the Lieutenants. Especially considering he focused on brute force anyway, and was used to fighting. The boost of power certainly helped in times like these, though.

Raite's weight unexpected slipped, his momentum interrupted. "...!" Before the lieutenant had a chance to correct himself -- thanks to Chaonis's pull, the lieutenant ended up being tossed backwards of Chaonis and crashing against a building. Feet on top, head on bottom. He landed in a heap, his entire body aching now.

"...Tch." Raite said in distaste, letting out a pained sigh. This time, Chaonis had an advantage of him. Even Raite, without his pride, couldn't dispute this. Along with their magical capabilities, physical and perhaps speed capabilities were upgraded as well.

But Raite couldn't let himself yield unequivocally merely because of a difference in levels. Who the hell had decided on that course of action anyways? He picked himself up until he was kneeling on the ground. He tried to lift himself only to collapse again, gritting his teeth. Had that last hit taken out more than he thought? Apparently it had, from the way that he couldn't summon any energy in his limbs.

Would he die here and now?

Chaonis let out a triumphant sound as he sent Raite flying, though he didn't take too long in the moment. He didn't want to give his opponent time to recover and come after him.

Raite was, after all, one of the most skilled brawlers Chaonis had met in the Negaverse. The shift in power he, Chaonis, had gained from becoming a super senshi certainly helped, but he was still not going to pretend Raite was helpless or easy pickings.

He drew closer, watching as Raite struggled to stand.

Now, how would any other senshi act? Babble at him about the light and about their win, about how wrong the negaverse was? Maybe. It wouldn't be out of place. Give him a chance to escape? Maybe some of the more soft hearted senshi. It wasn't their place to kill, and Chaonis had no interest in being a murderer in cold blood.

But winning a fight with a flourish, that he could do.

"What's the matter, tough guy?" he asked, lunging forward suddenly and slamming his fist into Raite's face. "Losing your edge? I thought you were better than that."

A hard hit that far outweighed Chaonis's meager fist into Raite's face, packed with the weight and force of three tons of stuffing whacked the senshi of danger to the side without warning, it's presence appearing without warning.

"Maybe he is. Maybe he isn't. Clearly, I'll be the judge of that."

The disruption of energy in the air shifted precariously, at first tipping in the super senshi's direction but now in the female general's. Where she had witnessed the fight from or it was simply a polite social call, it remained mysterious, as Serandite teleported in without giving one hint to her previous origins. A flash of pink, black and yellow suddenly blurred into focus .. and a kimono-sleeved hand reached out, one on each side, pushing the senshi away with one hand and the other grabbing Raite by the collar with a vengeance.

"Lieutenant."

She gave the male on the ground a hard stare.

"Senshi."

She gave Chaonis a glance.

Not with the malice that negaversers seemed to always give towards the senshi, no. It was merely a matter of aggravation, as if finding two regular males, instead of powered, fighting on a playground rather than a fight for their lives. "Getting into a damned useless fight and wasting my time. You. Why? Ok, don't tell me why, I can guess why. Your stupidity might have gotten your pretty face smashed in .. Oh wait-- It already is, isn't it?"

Serandite was annoyed, annoyed, annoyed. And now, she grabbed the buckling lieutenant to teleport out. Apparently, they had gone quite the distance, their energy could no longer be felt within the perimeter.

Chaonis fell to the side but was quick to recover his footing, looking at the rabbit, then at its owner. He remembered that thing from a long time ago, though he didn't remember it being so big. He looked at its owner, though, growling.

Interrupting a fight? Not cool.

Especially not one of Chaonis' fights.

Still, he wasn't so dumb as to think he could take on a General, which was what he looked like he was facing now. Or was he that stupid? He watched her, debating his options, holding his fists up and tightly clenched. Adrenaline was pumping through him from the last fight, and the thrill of winning, and now from the surprise of this much stronger opponent's appearance.

And disappearance. Raite and Serandite were gone and he couldn't feel them. He swore and kicked at the ground, not having an outlet for the pent up energy he now had to deal with. His thrill for danger had been sparked and not sated.

He was going to have to go find some more trouble to get into.
