Mys'ketay chewed happily on a leg that had once belonged to a water buffalo. Her hunting skills had improved greatly in the last couple weeks and she couldn't help but feel proud of herself. After a few moments she finished her meal and stood up. Her mouth was covered in blood, so she figured she would wash up in the watering hole that was just a couple inches away. Quickly she walked to the watering hole and drank until she could hold no more water in her stomach. Afterwards, she washed most of the blood off her coat and sauntered over to a tree that had rocks all around it. She laid on the largest rock, with her front left paw dangling over the edge. Today had been a good day and she hoped there would be many more just like it.

Yves hadn't gone far from the Jini-msemi juuuuust yet, since he wanted to adventure around with Hiiro, but Hii wasn't going anywhere without Coatl. But Yves had gone far enough that...well, he was having some difficulties hunting. He was in open ground, and he was used to hunting in a SWAMP. Bedoier hadn't been kidding when he said how...EXPOSED everything was. The adolescent snorted and shook himself after his last attempt to hunt. Oh screw this! He'd find a rabbit hole and go after that!

But first...he was parched. Shaking himself one last time, he trotted in the direction of the watering hole he'd spied earlier and got himself a drink. At first, he didn't pay attention to anyone else at it...but a flash of cream and dark earthy brown out of the corner of his eye caught his attention, and he lifted his head up. And he grinned. Well hello~ gorgeous! He decided he could finish drinking later, and moved to follow the pretty lady. She was all settled by the time he caught up, and he cleared his throat.

"Good day, m'lady!" He could pull out his good manners for the moment. "What brings one such as yourself out here?"

Mys'ketay looked up when a young male approached her. She had never met a male quite as young as him, apart from a cub. He certainly caught her curiousity, however, he could still be a danger so she distanced herself a bit from. Not as much as she would an adult lion though. "Hello..." She said a little cautiously. "I came here to rest after eating." Mys'ketay said honestly. "What about yourself?" She asked. Could a young one like him be dangerous? And especially one as adorable as him? "I'm Mys'ketay by the way." She said with a smile that she hoped would make up for backing away from him. He was so young and innocent. What harm could he possibly cause?

The female's caution didn't pass by him, and the adolescent mentally berated himself a bit. But he kept his smile up, hoping to get her to relax. "Ah~ I actually spotted you and was wondering if you might like some company?" He bowed slightly, like his mother had taught him. "It is a pleasure to meet you, Mys'ketay. My name is Yves. I'm a Pilgrim of the Jini-msemi pride." She had such a lovely smile! If all the girls in the rogue lands were even half as pretty as her, he'd be a happy male!

Mys'ketay was surprised by how well mannered this young male was. She had never met a male quite like him before, and this one act intriged her. "It is very nice to meet you Yves." She replied with a warm smile. "I think I might be able to consider some company. Although, I am warning you in advance that I do not do anything of interest." Mys'ketay said with a laugh. "But if you can stand through that then I think it will be fine." She said with a nod. "Jini-msemi pride?" She asked as she cocked her head to the side slightly. "I have never heard of such a place. Would you mind telling me about it?" Mys'ketay asked with wonder. A pride! Wow, how had someone so young managed to be let into a pride? Yves was certainly becoming more and more interesting by the minute!

Yves grinned pleasantly. "Sometimes, good company is someone you can enjoy the silence with." Interesting or not...she was pretty, and seemed very nice. He padded a bit closer, then sat, making sure not to go too close. He didn't want to frighten her off on accident. "It's a pride in the heart of a swamp, protected by trees and water. I grew up there, and now I'm out in the world, looking for that which will define me, give me my adult name." He curled his tail around my feet. "It's a good place, full of interesting lions with only a few things in common...but those few things bind us together tightly."

Mys'ketay watched Yves move closer, however, he seemed to understand her need for distance. This one act showed her that this male was better then any other she had met thus far and she knew he could be trusted. A grin crossed her mouth and she stepped closer, showing that she trusted him a bit more but he should still take caution. Mys'ketay listed to him talk about his pride and she felt instantly attracted to it. "It sounds like a wonderful place to live." She said still smiling. "I do not belong to a pride, so I would not know." Mys'ketay said nodding. "Well, I did before I left. My father wasn't exactly a good.... well good." She said with sheepish laugh. "How will you know when you have your adult name?" She asked curiously.

He'd heard tales from his mother of lions who were...less than savory. There'd even been one in the Jini-msemi once, when his oldest brother was only a cub. Mama Asali had dealt with him in a most decisive manner. "I'm sorry you've experienced a harsher facet of life." He smiled at her, one filled with sympathy and a hope her life would make a turn for the better. "I hope you find a place to call home one day." At her question, he blinked, then shrugged. "The grown-ups in the pride said I would know when it comes to me. That...it will be something that resonates so deep in me that it can't be anything but my name."

Mys'ketay nodded as she listened to Yves talk about his pride and family. "They all sound wonderful." She said, refering to his mother and brother. "I think that there are some all over the land. Sadly, they seem to increase in numbers daily." Mys'ketay said with a sigh. "But.... What would happen if you were not sure what your name was?" She asked, curious to know more about how one's name is found. Could someone really find their name by going on a journey? What if it was wrong? These questions swirled around in her head as she waited with anticipation for the young lion to hopefully tell her more.

Yves chuckled. "I like most of the lions in the pride. Even the old and stodgy ones. They mean well." He blinked at her question, then thought. "Huh...Well...you stay searching until you're sure, I guess. Some lions have taken a loooooong time to find their adult names. Some not very long at all. But they don't come home until they're sure."

"Has anyone ever gotten their name wrong?" Mys'ketay asked with a smile. She had only just met this young male but already she felt a kinship with him. "Yves, you are very kind." Her eyes gazed into his for a moment, searching them for any sign that he could become a monster like most of the males she met. Finally a smile planted itself on her face. No, she could tell Yves was different and that he would never be like them. "You're very different from any other male I've met before. Most of them have tried to use me." She paused for a moment. "Some of them have even succeeded. To my dismay." Mys'ketay sighed lightly. She looked down at her paws for a moment then back up at him. "I guess my point is that I worry about you because you are so nice. And you have a high chance of becoming... them." Mys'ketay replied with distain.

Yves blinked. "Y'know...I have no idea." He'd never heard of such a thing happening...had it ever happened? Hmmm...

He was surprised by her next words. His heart couldn't help but ache for her, and he shook his head. "I may not be the best gentleman all the time...but Mama raised me to be one." His ears went back. "I'm sorry you were used...No one should ever do that to another, male or female." He may have been an a** at times, but he never would USE someone else.

Mys'ketay tilted her head curiously, still very upset over finally telling someone about what had happened to her growing up. But the look of surprise that came with her question made her feel just a bit better. He looked cute like that. Confused could be cute? In this case she would have to say yes. No. He is to young for you. She thought, snapping herself back to reality. "Thank you. But I am alright now." Mys'ketay replied, now baring a bit of a smile to help ease his worry. "She raised you well." She said, lightly nuzzling him on his neck to show him that she was indeed okay and would be okay. Although, she also let a bit of affection for him show through, ever so slightly.

Pulling away she looked off to one side for a moment as she formulated another question for him. This male, this young male knew far more then she ever imagined one younger then her could know. But it was this that made her feel a bit more at ease around him. It wasn't the only thing though. "Umm." She said, trying to clear her thoughts. "Do you like being out here?" She asked curiously. Was he lonely like her? Or was he fine being by himself for the time being? Her gaze now returned him. "All by yourself."

Yves grinned. "My Mama is the best." Even if she seemed sad at times. Maybe that just made her better? "And I'm glad you're okay. A lady like you should smile more than frown. Suits you better." He nodded in an almost sagely manner. And at her curious question, his grin turned into a smile. "Well...it's nice at times, but it does get lonely. I started out with my brothers, but we've all gone our separate ways now. What about you?"

Slightly surprised by his compliment Mys'ketay blushed a bit, the tan of her coat darkening to a pinkish color. Quickly though she shook herself of it. What was wrong with her? Clearly she would need to mentally hit herself later for this. "I'm sorry." Mys'ketay said, a small frown coming to her maw before she shrugged. "Sometimes. Though, as I said I think I would rather be lonely then have to deal with an unpleasant.. male." She felt conflicted looking at him. He was so kind and very unlike anyone else she had ever met before. Especially due to the fact that he was a male and still kind. His presence honestly eased most of the pain she had felt since she had come to the rogue lands. But he was so young, not that much younger then her but still young enough. She felt a sigh catch in her chest. This was wrong. "I'm keeping you from your quest." Mys'ketay said with a small smile, trying to tell him it would be okay if he wanted to leave and continue his quest.
