She could hear the gentle lapping of the water against the hard ground before she saw it. The sound was soothing, whispering of a promise of respite from the relentless heat above, whispering of an end to the dry itch deep within the irritated tissues of her throat, whispering of serenity and a place to relax and enjoy the company of others around her. The tune softly whittled down until it was no more, her vocal cords vibrating soundlessly for a few more seconds before finally becoming still.
Her hooves guided her down the familiar, well-worn trail. As she rounded the corner of a particularly large tree trunk, the small pond came into view. It was just as she had remembered. Clear water, green lichen bursting with growth on the surrounding trees. The entire vicinity was buzzing with a vivacity and love of life, from the insects present on every square millimeter to the thick undergrowth that flourished here. Bending her head, she lapped at the water quickly, allowing it to quell her thirst.
Only then did she look up and notice the large gray stallion. He was an imposing figure with dappled coloration. His mane and tail were jet black, the former cropped into a short style. He bore four white socks upon his legs, and his nose was darker than the rest of his body. Upon his back rested a simple saddle, like those the two-leggers used to ride their Soquili. A bridle rested upon his face, looking none too comfortable.
Ears perked forward with curiosity, Sakura whinnied a greeting. "Hello, stranger." Her voice was warm and infused with millions of questions. She had never before met a horse who lived with the two-leggers.

Berk drank away while the world around him moved, grateful for the slight breeze that just entered and relieved once more that blistering heat that sweated off his shiny coat. He enjoyed this solitary union with nature, the water feeding him and the air aiding in his escape from the sun. His bulky, large figure stretched and moved lightly as he picked his head up after drinking, tossing his cropped black mane and huffing irritably at the reins that slapped his neck and the taste of bronze between his teeth and tongue. How he wished he could rip these two-legger items off himself.
So caught up in himself, Berk failed to notice a.. rather familiar type of his kind enter the area, and he would pay for it soon enough. The whinny caught the dapple by surprise, and the large stallion turned quickly, too quickly. The horn, tail and hooves entered his line of sight and immediately he took a step back and nearly reared, eyes going wide, and his heart pounding faster with surprise and fear. A fear he didn't wanna show. His eyes adjusted to the mare before him, and he felt his embarrassment nearly reach his cheeks, and he narrowed his eyes toward the lady before him donned in pink. It was shameful such a .. feminine, and .. daintly looking mare made him react in fear.
Shaking his head, he caught his voice and mumbled, keeping his distance and refuting eye contact. "Uh.. Hello, ma'am." He grumbled, his deep voice resonating in his vocal cords as he looked off to the side, trying not to make a run for it.
