Before she knew what was happening, or what unholy stench assaulted her nose, Carthusia was tossed out of her disgusting holding cell and out into the open. The air was fresh, the night sky was a welcome sight and... Pride was utterly lost. Where had she been? Where was she now? In the distance, she could hear the mutterings of someone, something through the fog. Pride stretched her wings and picked a few remaining maggots from her hair. She looked... disheveled at best and utterly confused. She still didn't know who these people were or what they were after, but no doubt someone would think she was lying.

Still, she had to find someone else to explain what had happened.

There was one voice she recognized, a timber of a boil, tall and thin, off several yards from her. Was that... Gabe? Carthusia trekked in that direction, following his voice a safe distance away. Whoever the cloaked figures were, Carry had a bad feeling about them and what they had planned. What had she gotten herself into? She couldn't see anything in these stalks and before she knew it, she couldn't hear anyone anymore and she was stuck staring at a bunch of corn. Fantastic. Now what was she supposed to do? Pride milled over what had happened in the previous... how long was she gone? Did they snatch anyone else after her? Jacking hell...

He'd lied.

These stupid corn stalks were taller than he was, and knowing where he was going was increasingly hard. There was also the fact that even when he looked up to the sky... there were no stars to be seen, the fog obscuring them. It made knowing which way he was headed impossible. Was he heading North or West by now? The wailing voice could still be heard in the air, but rather than like before... it seemed to come from everywhere at once; it was as if it surrounded him, really.

Movement somewhere ahead caught his attention and the nix swallowed the increasing need to turn around and head back towards the main group. Instead, he gripped his (probably rather useless) wooden sword and walked forward, pushing his way through the corn stalks until... "Carry?" the ghoul was tall enough and unique enough that even from a small distance away, Gabrian was able to make her out through the fog and corn stalks. Pushing his way through the last of them, the nix demon found himself beside Carthusia, whom he took a moment to survey, head to toe, as if looking for signs of injury, "I thought you were... I..." he paused as he noticed her clothes sort of reeked. Badly, "What happened? One minute you were standing beside me and the next your were yanked away from me. By your hair."

Bah, corn sucked, she decided, and was best used for popping, not wandering through. She was about to give up and try to fly her a** out of here when she heard someone come up behind her. Whirling around with a finger pointed, Carry put on her best rageface. "Now listen here! I thought I already told you people that I have no idea who you are, or what on Jack's parched earth you have on this island and..." She stopped when she had gotten no reply aside from her name. Blinking and looking up, she was staring firmly at Gabrian's chest.

Before she knew what hit her, Carry attached to him like he was the last person on earth.

"Gabe you will not believe how happy I am to see you!" she started, even though she only knew the boil in passing, and knew of his connected to the werewolf she happened to mark. But she knew his name and he was Not Uggles or Friend of Uggles that had slapped her around something fierce. She bore a few marks from the altercation on her face and upper arms, but Pride paid them no mind. "My hair is smelly, my skin is smelly, my all of me is smelly and they were filthy people, covered in maggots and decay and UGH." Pride stepped back to demonstrate her plight with several elaborate hand gestures. "Did anyone else get kidnapped? I don't know where I was... they just let me go... Are you guys okay? Is LW okay?"

Cathursia's reaction to him was not what he expected; when he reached her, the demoness whirled around, offering him her best rage face while pretty much pointing a finger at his chest. Instinctively, the nix lifted both his hands up, one still clutching his wooden sword while the other was place palm up in an attempt to placate the obviously riled up avarice demoness, "Woa," he made a hushing, hopefully soothing hiss of a sound and moved his free hand in a wave, "Calm down..." he blinked as the ghoul visibly deflated and then.... pretty much attached to him.

This was awkward.

Gabrian did his best to comfort the ghoul, patting her back before she drew back and began to gesture wildly to her clothes and her body, "Uhhh...." he didn't really think it was a good idea to point out that she did in fact reek; it was both her movement and her scent which had drawn him near after all, "I... well, that's nothing a good swim won't fix right up, Carry," he winced at his own words, lowering his sword down, "But honestly... I think you got off easy," he lifted his free hand up and looked the demoness in the eye, as if asking for permission before placing his fingers around her chin, moving her face first right and then left in an attempt to evaluate the damage, "Just a few scratches... That's impresive," the words were murmured softly before he lowered his hand and then made motion to somewhere behind him, "LW is perfectly fine, if worried sick about you. I left her with Tsetliya back over... there," he hesitated a moment, his eyes looking around them, "Somewhere over there. Jack damn these corn stalks!"

His frustration actually forced him to growl, a gesture almost out of character with the usually calm demon before he shook his head, "No, you were the only one. The guy vanished, dragging you behind him. Where were you? What in Jack's name did they want? And... how did you escape?"

At least he wasn't accusatory. That was the last thing Carry wanted to hear at the moment. She was still reeling, trying to wrack her brain for something that simply did not want to show itself. It worried her, having that huge blank spot in her memory, and she hoped it wouldn't cost herself or someone else too dearly. Pride shrank a little bit and scratched her scraped-up chin. "I'm really relieved that everyone else is okay." she started, watching the general direction in which Gabe had pointed. Sounded like they had a right little group over there somewhere, and even Gabe with his six-foot-whatever frame couldn't see them. It made her feel a little better, and much less short in his presence (even though she was naturally a bit above average in terms of height).

She shook her head at his questions. "To be honest, I have no idea where I was. There weren't any windows, I couldn't hear anything... no landmarks on the way there either. It was POOF! Now you're in a rotting hellhole..." The place could not even be described in terms of disgust. She would need a scale of one to one hundred, and even then it wouldn't be high enough. "It was festering and rotting and stank so bad... I hope there's a body of water around here to wash off with but..." Pride shook her head again and ran a hand through her tangled hair. "There were two of them... I guess... would it be easier to tell the story to the group? You know, let them know what I found out?"

The more people that knew what little information she had, the better. She knew this whole situation involved those pendants, and the faculty of the school were keeping some information from the students. Whether it was for their own safety or otherwise, they were missing rather large portions of the puzzle. And who knew how many other cloaked figures there were, lurking about in the cornfields and the rest of the island? Safety in numbers.

Carthusia seemed honestly scared, not to mention nervous, which was not giving Gabrian a good vibe at all. After all, while it was true that he only knew her in passing, he was well aware she was a strong demoness; most avarice demons tended to be strong opponents and the fact she'd not only been kidnapped with such ease but hurt was deeply worrying. As if the nix needed any more reasons to despise this horrible place, "Everyone is okay," he paused and frowned, his mind reminding him that everyone was okay except... Ren, whom was not with them.

Burrying that thought as deep as he could, Gabrian took a step away from the demoness and attempted to stand up on his tip toes in an attempt to see beyond the corn stalks, "I can't see anything and... something about this fog is odd. It makes it so you can't really hear things that matter," except that eerie wailing sound which he was unsure if they should investigate or not. Pushing his way through he corn stalks, he made sure he kept himself beside Carthusia's side, his tail swishing slightly to brush against her every so often as he scanned their surroundings, as if to make double sure she was still there.

"That is perfectly fine," a pause as his gaze slid over to her, "But... you might want to give me the abridged version too, before we get there. Just in case," it was clear he was implying he had no idea if they'd actually even manage to return together, or if there would even be a group to return to, "This place and the fog are both weird. Nothing like Christmas. This place makes me feel powerless and threatened," he pushed some more stalks away before thinking of something else, "Have you seen Livi since we left, by the way? I haven't seen him yet and it has me worried."

Pride looked up at the nix, studying his face and his expression. He seemed worried too, and deeply uneasy about this whole place. Part of what nagged at her the most was what one of the cloaked figures said - this island will make you crazy. Whether it's a property of the island or simply the inhabitants going insane after spending so long here... no one but they really knew, and they certainly didn't give Carry any time to ask questions before pounding on her and shoving her out. "The fog's weird too?" she asked nervously. The more she slowly found out about the island, the more she wanted to know about the people who lived here. Why did they seem to think she knew them?

Why did they call her a traitor?

The abridged version? Right, just in case they couldn't find the group quickly, at least someone else would know what happened to her. "When I woke up, I was in this tiny room filled with rotting meat and maggots." she started, knowing full well the smell on her clothes would do part of the storytelling as well. "There were two cloaked people - one was very large and incredibly smelly and the other was smaller. The big one called it 'Pesty'. Pesty seemed to be the one in charge..." Stepping over a few cornstalks, Carthusia made sure to keep close to Gabrian and his tail, lest she be lost again in the fog. "They kept asking me why I did what I did, why I betrayed them, but I don't know what they're talking about. They wanted to know why I played bait and why I brought the 'Bad People' to the secret. They threatened to chop me into little bits, so I played along like I knew what they were talking about. Next thing I know, Pesty beats on both me and the bigger person and they shove me out."

As they kept walking, Carry was quiet for a while, listening to the sounds of the fog and their crunching footsteps on the stalks they pulled down. Hopefully they were headed in the right direction, but Gabe had a good six or so inches on Pride. He was the better leader of the two for several reason. "They had a pendant like we've seen on campus. They said the island... makes you go crazy."

"The fog is extremely weird," Gabrian drawled out as they walked, "One moment... before that one battle against that cloaked guy that took you, I was with my main group of friend. I took three Jack damned steps away from them and they vanished," he shook his head, shooting the demoness beside him a look, "It was almost as if the fog were unnatural - as if it had swallowed me whole. I called for them and they couldn't hear me, even though I knew... I knew they were right there," he paused to hold up his wooden sword for Carry to see; the thing looked like it was personalized for him, what with the intricate snake motif it now sported, "There's also this. See that snake? It wasn't there before we battled the cloaked guy. LW's one also changed. I'm not entirely sure what it means."

Thankfully though, one of their goals had been accomplished thanks to having found Carry; it was one less person to worry about within all this chaos, "I take it the big one was... the one we battled. The one that took you away with him. It. Whatever it was," checking under the cloaked figure's metaphorical skirt was the last thing on Gabrian's to do list of the day. Actually... no, it wasn't even on his damned to do list, "Played bait?" he blinked, turning his head to face the demoness. It seemed as if she were being perfectly honest about not knowing why that had happened to her and... Gabrian believed her. She didn't strike him as the liar type and she did honestly look quite rattled.

"I hate those pendant," he was still quite upset that it had been one of those artifacts that had sent them to the human world, "They're dangerous, if experience has taught me anything. They can be used as portals to the Human world. Or.... as keys to portal to the human world? I don't know. It was one of those things that sent us there, you know," he suddenly lifted his head in the air and sniffed, "I believe my Puppy is around here," this was murmured under his breath, his free hand curling around Carthusia's wrist in case the fog chose to thicken, "Let's go," he paused only momentarily to look at her, shuddering slightly, "They said the island makes you crazy?" a beat, and then, "I believe that. It'd explain quite a few things, actually," that said, he pushed through the tall stalks once more, heading towards where he hoped LW and the rest were still waiting for him.

The fog could separate people by only a few feet? And it dampened sound too, which was incredibly disturbing. Gabe seemed to know a little about the pendants and that made Carry feel a smidge better, but not much. When it seemed like they were nearing their destination, Cartusia continued to listen to him. She hadn't heard a thing from Livius either, and no matter how many times she checked her phone, nothing would be sent or received. He wasn't on the beach when she was there searching for him. She was worried sick, as was Gabrian. Where was Livi?

"I haven't seen Livi since we got on the boats... I'm really worried about him. Maybe the others know? And I don't know if the pendants are dangerous or not, but I certainly don't trust them..."
