Dark brown paws flicked at the dirt ground at its resident's den entrance, dirtying the cream toes that tipped them. It had been one of those nights, when visions came that made the dark striped lion content of what he would be encountering in the future. But there weren't many visions that came that displeased the lion. He made out each sight to be very beneficial indeed - even if he didn't see his victory in capturing a banu, he would see a lesson to be learned to improve himself and gain further status in the pride.
It was going to be hard, with all of his vizier father's offspring, but he knew he had an ability that made him assuredly better than the rest off the start. As well, he and his siblings had the most handsome coats and lineage of Tariq'ra'd's den. Though he had received less compliments now that he was growing into a young adult, he was still profoundly confident that great blood ran in him, and he personally held the potential for a lot more than the average pad.
He yawned briefly, stretching his claws out in relaxation. The air was crisp, dim, and silent - he was retiring later than a majority of the lions in the Ukuucha'Wafalme, and was going to use that to his advantage. This lion in fact disliked acting sociable, for not many were worthy of his attention.
A break came in his stance; he looked behind himself, peering into the den that housed many numbers - all of which belonged to his father. Someone was coming to interrupt his peaceful night, and he grunted discontentedly at whomever it was.

The day, in contrast, had gone over fairly well for her. Many considered her a little strange, but she found more comfort in the day hours than she did under the light of the moon. She’d often sit atop her family’s den, her coat groomed to perfection, to gaze upon the sunlight lands of her pride. The sun reflecting off the waters that cut across the landscape shone like liquid gold and swept in graceful archs through the otherwise dry land. Her father had raised her under a protective paw, insuring that she knew her place among the pride. She accepted her role but still held a firey spirit that, when she pleased, could compare easily to any of her brothers.
She’d met her future mate, her prince. His face warmed the cold nights and smiled from nearly every pool of water she came across. Royal blood… her father would be proud of her for catching the eye of such a respected suitor.
As the sun began to fall along the horizon line, she felt it best to move into the warm comfort of her family’s den. In time, she would lodge with her pasar, sharing his warmth as the sun took its beloved rays beyond the horizon. Stretching, Sioned padded her way down from the high rise of the den and made her way inside, her tail brushing the ground behind her.
A shadow turned to face her, and as her eyes adjusted, her brother’s features made themselves known and earned a warm smile from the lioness. “Good afternoon.”

"Hello, Sioned," he said briskly, lifting his head towards her direction for just a second for recognition.
At least, out of his other littermates, Sioned was the only girl, and thus not competition whatsoever. Each of his brothers irked him at times, thinking that one was perhaps better than the other. Mirsajadi would remark on being firstborn, and maybe his additional colors in comparison with the rest of their siblings would bring him greater luck; Rayhan would use his golden and desert brown coat to boast; Omaran would find his darkest coat of his siblings to be the best looking, in addition to having spots instead of stripes.
Sioned was, at least, amiable to an extent whenever Akram'raja interacted with her. And by amiable, he meant that she did not bother him as much. Half the time, he did not know where she would be during the days - and that was a good place to be for someone whom Akram'raja could not make use.
However, because she was still a sibling to him, he was compelled to offer a snide remark, "It would be a good one if you went to sleep at the time you are supposed to. Isn't it a bit late for you, dear Sioned? Your future pad would not like it if his banu goes out past her curfew."

"My someone woke up on the wrong side of the den." She raised a thin brow and lifted her chin. Being the only female had its benefits. While the sons were obviously favored, she fell under her father's protection. She listened to his careful lessons and observed the other banu within the pride for proper guidance as to how she was expected to behave- but she also knew she had some elbow room with her brothers.
She chuckled and shrugged her shoulders, eyes rolling upwards. "Well I suppose, but my pad won't mind. Perhaps we'll be inconsistent with our sleeping patterns together."
Smirking, she looked back over to her sibling. "Still no lovelife for you?"

Akram'raja snorted to Sioned's statement. His words were ill placed, undeserving of the reason of a grumpy temper. There was some validity in his words, and perhaps not paying attention to a lesson that could be learned from him would make Sioned a far worse banu than he thought originally. And he didn't think that much of his sister originally, either.
While Tariq'ra'd's banu served for general purposes a good example for Sioned while growing up, it seemed as though some of his brothers' annoying habits had leaked into her, such as taking him lightly.
"Your pad won't mind?" he asked, brow raising at the prospect.
"Do you already have a suitor, Sioned? It is disrespectful of you to assume that your pad will wish for you to do whatever you pleased outside of his den while he is laying inside without your presence."
He grunted to her further annoyance, "And I have my future set, I assure you."

"I already have a pad, yes... I've seen him for myself." She stretched out a paw ahead of her and took a moment to inspect her claws. She could use a good scratching to trim them down and shape them a little better... he could arrive at any moment. In recent days, the lioness had become almost obsessive with her appearance. She groomed herself regularly, walked with practiced grace, and even seemed to mind her posture when sunning herself.
"My pad trusts his banu~", She smiled a little, "I believe he will treat me as well as I deserve, and in turn I will never leave his side. Just because I become his banu doesn't mean I become a burr in his mane."
She snorted but pressed curiously. "So you've seen her? Your future banu?"

Seen him for herself? He raised an eyebrow at that statement, wondering if she meant that she had seen, just like himself, into the doubtless future. This was not the first time he heard of such remarks from her, nor was it the first time the two's visions were hinted to each other. Akram'raja knew that his sister among his brothers and other half-sisters was a bit more skilled than usual, but sharing the same experience and extremely valuable ability made him feel a little less important. That was just not the way to go.
However, his look remained solid and his paws never left the ground, choosing to remain composed despite how much he wanted to roll his eyes at her insolent comments. Despite her cleverness and abilities, Sioned would never be anywhere close to a proper banu if she was to continue at a state like this.
"Well, you definitely are a burr in my mane," he responded with a smirk, getting up from the floor to step closer to Sioned, raising his chest high.
"All of them," he replied with a faint, satisfied grin.
"All of them, dear Sioned. I will reap the benefits of my teachings and training when I go into the field once I am of age. When it is time, I will come home, and rest assured, father will be the proudest. His only respectful son, bringing home the most beautiful banu from the rogue lands! Ah, Sioned, let me tell you. I have seen them dancing - just need some more practice with their grace and timing - but still, they are better than those in the Ukuucha'Wafalme we have already seen dancing and entertaining! Oh yes, Sioned, and I suspect one of them will come from within our ranks, too. Ah, it will be a day, seeing the looks on their eyes when their savior comes to take them in to his reputable home. Surely you are jealous, dear Sioned."

"Whatever would you do without this burr in your mane, dearest Raja?" She countered with a silky smile and an easy flick of her tail. They cared for eachother, truly, but the sport of verbal sparring was a beloved past-time of theirs and over the course of their lifetimes, they had both grown quite good at it. It was perhaps their own way of showing affection towards one another .
She couldn't help but smile at her brother's on revelations. He deserved himself a decent harem of banus, even if she quietly hoped that he'd get one or two that would give him some lip and put him in his place. He needed someone that could match his wit and give him hell on occasion. It kept him sharp.
"Father will be proud of you no matter what you do, dear Raja. You won't have to work at that." Her sincere smile turned playful as she added, "But making me jealous- that may take some effort."

Sometimes, he truly was grateful for his sister. His life growing up would have been a lot more annoying if it had been just him and his brothers. Simply put, Sioned brought some sort of relief - he obviously didn't have to compete with her for anything.
"Hmph," was all he gave - at least Sioned acknowledged his potential and power.
"We'll see one day, Sioned. I seek perfection, and although it comes easy for me, one must still work for it."
Akram'raja turned around then, walking at a slow gait back to their family's den. So much for his peaceful night.
"Don't set a bad habit for yourself now, Sioned. Good night."

She chuckled softly and rounded about to nudge her shoulder against that of her brother. "Don't try too hard, brother. Let your visions guide you and try to take time to unwind yourself. You're no fun when you get uptight."
Stepping back, she shrugged her shoulders. "I'll let my Pad decide if my habits are bad or not. Sleep well."
