Okay, I'm not 100% sure this belongs in this subforum, to be honest.

For those of you who don't know; Tonight, March 19th, there is a "super moon".
A full moon, closer than it's been in years.
It's big and bright, and worth the couple steps outside.
      Go look, now. I'll wait.

      ...

      Okay, good.
      So.
This gave me a random idea.
Or, well, more like reminded me of an idea I had before.

The idea is for a massive mob boss, a la Halloween Jack, that appears in Barton, on zOMG! nights, when the RL Moon is full.
It would be similar to what Otami Jack once was: Extremely powerful, extremely resilient.
This way, regardless of if you're CL 10 or CL 1, you'll pretty much die in one to two hits, and will only do a couple damage to him.

Your reward would be ~10k, along with a chance of exclusive Epic Loot and recipes.

Perhaps limit it to one server to avoid the server hopping problem.
      Or... not. Dunno.
But I miss Mob bosses in this game. I always enjoyed them in other MMOs.
      Also, I want Werewolf skin.

      Exactly!

Only, you know, it'd have a pre-designated date of appearance, and rare loot, so people will show up to kill it.

i'm pretty sure that if it were unkillable then ppl would lose interest pretty fast XP

I never said it was unkillable...?
It'd just take a large number of people to kill.

Perhaps, but it'd be just like Jack.
I know I enjoyed Jack, and miss it.
And I know a lot of people do too.

What if it was a werewolf that was actually the moon animated*? [/easily distractable]

I think some recurring events/specifically timed minievents might be interesting (tides, moon phases, weekends, stuff like that). I'd think it should head more towards the minievent scale of things. Only a couple maps affected at most, powerful but not CL 20.0 or anything like that, rare drops but not epic ones, etc.

*or the animated reflection of a moon, or an animated telescope or something, if an animated moon is too crazy even for zOMG

Pretty much what I wanted out of the kraken.

Also, I noticed the huge moon before yesterday, and people called me crazy. You understand me, right Syko? Right?

So, this thing would ONLY come out on Full Moons?
He would better appear EVERY gaian night that day, or I'd be pissed "Real Life" would prevent people from getting to him at 6am.

Whatever it was, it would have to be huge, and placed in somewhere huge as well. And let me deviate here a bit. I wouldn't like a Giant Wolf. I would like a giant ANYTHING.

^animated moon: No, mommy, NO!

It'd be fun if it completely nuked a screen when it spawns though, sort of like being killed by Deathwing in cataclysm. When you did, your cherry would have been popped, and everyone would go congratulations. Sure people would have to revive and it'd cause massive lag when the explosion happened, but at least it would start with a bang, as well as a nice way to make sure all those people waiting for it get something "WHOOOOAAAA" out of being there early. In other words, dying would be totally worth it.

      Yeah.
      One map.

The powerful thing was just so, whether you're CL 1 or CL 10, you do the same damage.
So everyone can play equally, just like Otami Jack.
I killed Otami Jack on several CL 1 Mules, since all attacks only did 1 damage anyway, and he'd kill you in one hit anyway.
I'm taking that, and making it an intentional feature.

And, to be fair, Mini-events DID drop Epic loot, and will continue to once Epics are released.

      Let's see...

Yes, he'd appear every Gaian night, or at least regularly.
Like, every third Gaian night or something.

Maybe, have a moon appear in-game on nights with full moons.
Perhaps in the reflection of the Fountain, Barton river, or Bassken Lake.
And every night, it goes from waning, to New, to waxing, to Full.
And when it's full, those are the nights when it spawns.

I have to question the above. People managed to survive hits from Jack. In fact, I saw people kitting jack into other screens on purpose of all things. (not hard when all people get is 1 hate point normally compared to sand).
The reason why I do is... Jack LAZORS sometimes inflicted the fluff status effect on people it damaged until they died. If everyone died in one hit, how would there be people with the status effect.
Two hits is perfectly believable though o3o

Ah, I still got those, and I helped annoy [ JK ] about them before. Then became busy bothering him about Goofball.
I want those to have a use. They're the only non-holiday loot that can actually be called "rare" for a reason. And unlike Atrash, I don't mind a special loot for beating a boss. It'd help keep recipes rare for longer, and give players more of a reason to do the boss repeatedly.
I wouldn't like having to collect an absurd number of them either. Or having them soulbound to prevent mule abuse or not having to work for the recipe. No, just no.

ah yes, Jack was quite easy to move around, i remember once in otami we were fighting him by the blood tree, and he then followed me all the way down to blaze, it caused mass confusion xD
/completely off-topic
/on-topic, btw, the thing where you said that when the moon spwans it nukes the screen, it kinda reminded me of gurren lagann >_>;;, but ya, it would be interesting if it killed everybody on the screen, though if this were to happen i can guarantee that people would object

then they'd need to develop a sense of humor. Death s cheap in this game anyways.
