He was hardly going to argue when they asked if they could help on an information run, he wanted after all to inspect the area where Tanzanite, Dioptase and the others had last been seen.

Them coming allowed it to be a fast endeavor but left them on look out while he searched for any hints that might have been left behind. It was a slender line of hope but a powerful one, and he had to start somewhere.

Ideas were already percolating in the back of his mind, little whispers and thoughts that bubbled up and sank down into the dark to join others in a quiet simmer of whispers and musings that would need boiled down into something more solid over the fuel of information.

"Schee... roof top, keep an eye out, we know you have good lungs, remember... call Selenite and Ilmenite for back up if you see too much heading our way... Fayalite....you're with me please. Remember what I said about the new smoke, both of you..." He nodded shortly before 'heading down'.

Wordlessly he expected Scheelite and Fayalite to draw his attention if they thought anything amiss as well, the more eyes on the location the better. If their kidnappers had forgotten anything that was not part of their own uniform they'd find it.

He was perhaps not in the best of shape, considering he had been going almost nonstop since first hearing about the disappearances. Not...that he had ever enjoyed sleeping in the first place. Still, he had insisted on going with them on this run, and at the commands he gave a salute and silently tapped his headphones to let Zink know he was a short call away before making his way up to the rooftops.

Scheelite scanned the surrounding area, seeing nothing really out of the ordinary. Didn't feel anything either...hrm. Still! He had to stay on the lookout just in case! The blonde captain paced back and forth on the roof, anxious to find out something but knowing that right now this was the best thing he could be doing.

...Still nothing strange. Just Zink and Faya down below scoping out the area. There was a bird over there...but really, how was a bird strange? No Senshi, no -civilians- even. Just them, and the random bird that didn't seem to be doing much.

On he paced, waiting and hoping that the others would find something.

Fayalite really did not know the missing negaversers very well.. but hell if that was going to stop her from looking for them. Men down, in a organization such as theirs where they were outnumbered 3 to 1... was not good odds. Plus, it sent a huge shivver... unvoiced, unspoken, through the negaverse. Their were people missing, taken.. important people. That alone meant they deserved to be found.

So the negaverse was looking for them.

"Alright." The lieutenant said staying near Zink, but not just right next to him. It was still benificial for them if they spread out, so she headed towards the black board of the playground. Kneeling down, she saw something brownish in color... "Old blood."

"Could be... " He confirmed, but it could be a lot of things really given it was on the ground. "Ours or theirs I wonder." He mused taking a gloved finger and scrubbing at the spot, tracing the direction of the cast off. He'd have to remember to pick up a book on blood spatter, maybe something in the true crime section would be informative.

He cast around, scowling as though by doing so he could intimidate any small important detail to the foreground, something here had to stick out, SOMETHING must be left behind that even he could read. Think... think, this was no where near as easy as the mystery books would have it, where one found grit and clay that lead you to the last known location of a killer.

This has a high schooler in a boarding school trying to solve a kidnapping with a group of friends while serving in a secret military shadow organization, fighting a war against other high schoolers with magical powers who held ties to alien worlds. Good grades and sharp wit only carried you so far trying to follow events over concrete that were growing older by the moment.

No... He'd have to find another way, a more realistic way to solve this...even if he could find every step they had taken it would eventually be lost to the pedestrian traffic, which, even in the evening could be incredibly heavy.

There was a long period of silence from their blonde bodyguard, Scheelite too busy pacing the rooftops and keeping one eye on the random bird to bother his comrades with his usual ramblings.

Soon enough though....

There was a slight rustle in a bush near General Zinkenite, it's inhabitant failing pretty hard at being discreet, but when you were a quail running around the streets of Destiny City it was hard to be discreet in the first place. The tiny bird hopped out, and even took to the air to flutter closer to it's target.

It wasn't meant to be. Before the bird could land in it's intended place on Zink's shoulder, a blonde blur flew by and tumbled to the ground with it's hands clasped together. When Scheelite got to his feet once more, it was with a wide grin on his face and eyes shining bright.

"Caught it Zink! It's not a Senshi, but this little bird has been following us for a while! It's super cute though---"

That thought went no further, the blonde captain giving a yelp as the tiny bird in his hands pecked at his fingers til he unclasped them and simply held his hands flat. Sitting there in the middle of his palm was a quail. A very familiar quail to Fayalite and Zinkenite. Scheelite hadn't had the pleasure of meeting this particular bird before.

"Ah..." he said after a heartbeat of a pause as he blinked down at the tiny bird that had made a b-line for his shoulder. "Don't hurt him, but be careful all the same... Scheelite meet the Quail, one of Elision's guardians, rather dangerous with wind when he is so inclined. Very brave too...and rather clever." He nodded slightly remembering Quail's unorthodox defense of his mistress.
"How may we help you Quail... assuming that if you were planning an assault you would have done so?"

He offered a polite arm on the suspicion that the young man-bird might remain as he was, he'd been capable enough of human speech before and there was no reason to assume that he would be incapable now.

"Niiiice catch, Schee! I thought i felt something small shrimpy and annoying, and it wasnt you scheelite." Faya was still getting used to the way auras felt, but she could feel something odd in the area... not as well as her superiors could. She flung a smile at the captain, hopefully proof enough that she was only kidding with her recent statement.

Right?

Approaching with her eyebrows drawn together, she resisted the temptation to reach a finger out and poke at the tiny quail. "...Yeah this bird can mess you up, so dont piss it off." Rather blunt agreement with Zink, but in Faya's own way. Leaning back the lieutenant crossed her arms and flung a curious glance around. Eyes traveled from the bird to zink next, and back and forth. " Im not so sure i like the idea of him being on your shoulder, boss." A rather protective statement but it was her duty to listen to both Zink, and schee, and protect them... right?

Plus.... She really hated the damn bird.

And would make it known.

The bird blinked for a moment, feathers puffed up in indignation at being held captive in hands of all things. Really, here he was a Guardian of Elysion, and this silly kid felt it was a okay to just grab him mid-flight and hold him captive? The nerve!

Soon enough he had settled down, feathers smoothing back down as he made a move to hop out of Scheelite's flat hands and onto the general's offered arm. Beady eyes shot a single glance at Fayalite before returning it's full attention to Zink. They might not always see eye to eye, but the general was at least polite. It was more than what could be said for the other two present.

"I am just curious..."
The first of Quail's statements was interrupted by a squeal of "HOW CUTEEEEE" from Scheelite. Apparently the blonde was quite pleased with the idea of a tiny talking adorable bird, and rather than be concerned with anyone's safety he was a bit too busy cooing over the tiny guardian. At least until Faya called him shrimpy, which earned her a playful bat and a cry of "heeeey!' in return.

Scheelite distracted, the bird continued on.
"Curious why every night I see you and those aligned with you combing the streets? It doesn't seem to be for the various things I've heard you all go after..." He let that statement hang, not really wiling to talk about death or energy stealing at the moment. "And yet every night I see you all searching. What is it for?"

"We search for our companions, drugged, and abducted by Senshi... they have left scraps of their uniforms for us to find, hints and teases and even a few people to 'scrap' with to lead us off their trail because they are too -cowardly- to face us in an honorable battle."

His lips curled in disgust at their actions. "Perhaps... as honorable as their prince, though for his motives I would meet him again... disgusted as I was by his behavior he's certainly made me curious."

He paused thoughtful before asking. "You're rather keen to have noticed our behavior, if you are not working WITH them, perhaps you would be so kind as to tell me if you have found any notable behavior from the Senshi as well?"

He meant of course 'were they acting odd', it could mean anything from 'were they avoiding x location' in a conspicuous manner to had he seen any of them with rather a lot of blood on their hands.

Fayalite just grinned at the blond as he finally caught on to her rather horrible joke. In reality, he was maybe only a inch or two shorter than she was. Zink on the other hand was a different story...

"I guess." She paused, not trying to intrude but wanting to ask questions as well. "Do you remember seeing anything a few nights ago..around here? Or possibly a area of high senshi activity?" Zink's question was rather broad so she wanted to tack on a few specific questions as well.

The Quail was oddly quiet on the matter of the Prince. His actions were beyond explanation, and it pained Quail to think of him that way. It was someone he felt he should be loyal to, and yet seeing him in action he simply couldn't. It only furthered his resolve that the only ones worth being loyal to were his fellow Guardians and the Priestess herself. They were truly the only people he could rely on.

"I cannot say that I've noted anything of particular use on behavior of the Senshi, but now that I know the situation I can promise to keep an eye out."
No matter the side, Quail couldn't agree with tactics such as drugging and kidnapping. It simply didn't sit right, even in a war for the planet itself.

"The ones I have seen were simply patrolling alone. Nothing of use there, I'm afraid."

This was the point that Quail had to stop speaking once more, because Scheelite had decided it was an awesome new game to poke at the bobbing feather on the top of the guardian's head.

"Scheelite..." Zink said with just an edge of warning to his voice.

"We would all appreciate that Quail, would you like to walk with us while I finish surveying the area? Or...ride..."

Actually he was half hoping that the little bird would give them a.... well a 'quail eye view' from flight but that seemed just a bit rude to ask for, after all he was a small bird, and the cross winds in so large a city might be catastrophic.

....

"Scheelite why dont you give the bird to Zink, so they can go look over there... and i will go buy you a cookie and we can go look for clues over here..." It was a hint, Faya was picking up on the vibes that if schee was around the bird for too long, they would get nothing done with his curious poking and 'DAW CUTE' comments.

"...Ill make it ice cream if you wanted, even with hot fudge." Oh Faya really was turning the bribery on.

She wanted to find their comrades as much as anyone else did... even if it meant distracting the blonde.

Casting a glace towards Zink, she turned away and started to head towards the other end of the blackboard. It was a good thing destiny city had stores open all hours of the night.

"Cookie?" That was enough to draw Schee away from the cute bird. The blonde turned on his heels and happily bounded off after Faya, babbling on and on and -on- about cookies and ice cream and how awesome both of these things were.

Bribery worked well on this particular officer.

"Can it be cookie ice cream Faya? That'd be AWESOME."
Within moments he was out of reach of the bird, and Quail visibly relaxed the further away Scheelite went.

"I will help you look tonight." The bird bobbed it's head in a nod, hopping around on Zink's shoulder a moment before fluttering up to his head as a new perch. "Is this where they were taken from? Or was it somewhere else?"

"Here..." He confirmed with a nod and swept a hand to indicate the paltry few clues they had found. "They cleaned up too well... a few clues like that, old blood but too many foot prints, too well trafficked for me to know where they went from here."

He swept his hand around and twisted to encompass the rest of...well, everything.

"It's a grand task they have given us, I won't rest till their recovered...one way or another, and by god if I recover them too late..." His words were tight and angry but he pushed them aside.

"If I recover them too late then I will take every detail, every scrap of what I have learned and hand it to every new Lieutenant to pay them back ten fold for their dishonorable deeds."
